Transfer window open 9 days ago, Ange arrived in Glasgow I think 10 days ago, he has barely got his backroom staff settled in and he is being moaned at already 🙈 the guts been given a rolling 12 month contract and obviously chosen as a sex Nd best after a failed appointment of Howe. give the guy a minute to see with his own eyes what he has to work with. Rodgers lost to the red imps on his first game in charge and you soon seen within a month all the dead wood and players not up to his standard depart the club, McKay's been in office two minutes and calling for his head already? Morons. Had never heard of Ange before his appointment and never heard of McKay either but this is what we have, McKay SEEMS to be more of a risk taker than Lawell ever was and you know what I hope he is and also even if it back fires then at least no one can moan he was a buscuit tin merchant. or maybe he has already a plan in place? It's illegal to approach players at clubs without doing the paperwork and legal protocols first. 9 days in and your all crying for a hanging. How about accept this is the start of the rebuild. or what do u want? Offer 40k a week to a 30+ year old premier League has been till end of season who makes 8 appearances? It's not gunna be trebles for a long time. but it's the start of the new generation of Celtic football have some and keep some faith 🍀.

Gemmell1967, not sure who's called for Ange or McKay's head on here let alone a hanging. They both deserve every chance to succeed and full support to put in place a structure that will enable us to have a successful Club off the park and a winning team on the park.

I'm not sure that many fans, if any, would disagree with that 🤔.

The frustration, from my own point of view, is the complete lack of forward planning by the Club. A blind man could see what was coming well before last November but, for talking sake, let's use last November as a watershed in terms of how the team was performing and yet, nothing was done.

I'm aware of how long the CEO and Manager have been in place at CP and I'm also aware of when the transfer window opened but the problems that are now being addressed are not new, they're not 9 days old or have been a month or two in the making, by God I wish they were!

These are issues that McKay and Ange have inherited and sit completely with our inept board at CP from last season (possibly even further back than that) .

Whether you agree with me or not is entirely your perogative and I respect that and BTW, there is no doubting my faith but I can tell you one thing, it certainly doesn't sit with those on our board.

How does anyone know that McKay is more of “risk taker “ than lawell? He hasn’t taken any risks as of yet . He doesn’t seem to be willing to offer what the going rate is for the players we are sniffing about when we blatantly need investment in the playing squad . I’m not saying he isn’t or won’t be good for the club, all I’m saying is I see no evidence of “risk taking”.

{Ed007's Note - The guy's been in the job for 10 days ffs! It's going to be a long summer on here - I can't wait 😢

The youth won't get us past the Danes. We need players in to at least get familiar with how the manager wants to play before the CL qualifiers that is only 10 days away! We have no defence, no viable LW, Griff that's under investigation, Eddy that wants away, Ajeti that didn't look up to it last season and 2 goalies that don't look up to being our number 1. Aren't we at least entitled to expect a decent starting 11 with the money they've took off the fans from season tickets? No one is having a pop at Ange or Dom but a positive start under this regime to gain some momentum for the season ahead would be nice after the driss we had to put up with last season. At least give Ange a fighting chance for the qualifiers. CL qualification would bring a better quality of player to the club as well as a nice bonus to help ease the strain for C.V. yet all we have in is 2 boys and one was on a pre contract.

{Ed007's Note - Celtic were never going to qualify for the CL this year after finishing second in the league.

av been banging on for years about youth and hjelde and bhoys like Moffat get them in if their good enough, might save us a few quid and the board will like that.

I think Ange will give youth a chance IF GOOD ENOUGH we do need a mix with youth and experience. I really would have thought we would have brought in one or two experienced players for the first team by now I have no idea how long it takes on average from first contact with the selling club to a deal getting done? But was still hoping that we would have had them in I think the dead line for first CL qualifier is 11pm Thursday so not long to get them in and to settle in.

It's not Anges fault or probably Dom's. We are obviously trying to get players but aren't paying what their clubs want, so nothing is happening. We had little chance of the CL with new players, without I think crashing out of the EL is also looking odds on. They never fail to amaze me how they never learn. Is next week too late to sign players for the Midgies? If it is, if quarantine is still required, then sleeping at the wheel is still a thing.

10 Jul 2021 14:03:19
if we gave ourselves a chance there's no reason why we wouldn't qualify for the CL but we tend to make it hard for ourselves.

{Ed007's Note - Against the likes of PSV Eindhoven, Spartak Moscow or Sparta Prague? I wouldn't even fancy us to beat Rapid Vienna this summer.}

I pretty much wrote of this coming seasons European football at the tail end of last year.

10 Jul 2021 14:45:36
I think Europe will be beyond us this season no fault to Ange or Mackay on this one IMO The real challenge for this year will be the league.

10 Jul 2021 15:57:30
thats because we haven't got the players in that's needed.

10 Jul 2021 14:28:34
agree with that ed but its because of the mess we are in.
anyway I'm looking forward to seeing the youngsters today.
