Just reading about Celtic FC Foundation teaming up with Islamic Relief and together they delivered 500 food packs to vulnerable people across Glasgow.

Despite so many sections of our society being shunned by the Government, Westminster and Holyrood alike, the core values on which our club was built continue to this day to help those in need.

God bless them and God bless Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - Must have been better publicity than donating something for Mikey to auction for his charity match. Both Celtic and the Foundation were pig ignorant with him even in the tone of their correspondence. We discussed it on the last podcast and neither of them have covered themselves in glory over this IMO.
Btw, TRIFC were one of the clubs more than happy to help out and donated a signed player picture and a voucher for 4 to tour Ibrox - me, Mikey, JFP & Timalloy are going. Falkirk have bent over backwards to help Mikey and other teams have agreed to send stuff.
Obviously I'm not having a pop at you Pedro but if Celtic can't donate something to help a crowd of lads raise money for the NHS it doesn't sit right with the values the Club try to portray in public.}

Agree2 Disagree0

It will be like the devil going into the Vatican, the four of you lads going into Ibrox, I can see the smoke no come off you all.

I've not managed to get on any of the recent Podcasts Mark due to work and family commitments and to be honest I'm a good bit behind on what's been discussed of late.

I did see a post recently (I think from Mikey) about Celtic not contributing to the match in support of the NHS.

I mentioned it to my wife, who BTW, has been an NHS nurse for 30 years, the vast majority of that time working in South Lanarkshire, and we were stunned by this, so you know I'm with you on that and I will always call it as I see it (sometimes to my detriment) .

When/ how is the auction taking place?

{Ed007's Note - It's shocking mate. We'll see what stuff we get and sort out the best way to make money from it.}

I just hope they're not converted to the dark side Paul and their souls lost forever 😆😅😂.

Let me know about the auction Mark, email me.

{Ed007's Note - Will do 👍

Ed I was the same I asked celtic and all the teams in the spl to donate something for a charity football match as my work colleague was told he had terminal cancer and the only teams to help were Motherwell and Hamilton. The rest said they do it throu their own charities.

{Ed007's Note - It's shocking.}

I know all I asked for was a signed top or football or whatever they could give to auction off for charity but Motherwell and Hamilton were brilliant they gave us a pair of season tickets signed balls and tops and all they asked for was to mention that they donated them in our company newsletter. They clubs are a credit to the areas they serve I wish celtic or rangers could have been as good.

i had the same problem with them a few year ago i was going to raffle or auction off a signed jersey for a foodbank who help the homeless i would supply the jersey if they could get it signed for me. completely blanked me all together thought it was very poor from them. what did they say to mikey ed.

{Ed007's Note - They basically said they weren't interested, very curt and abrupt.}

09 Jul 2021 14:08:31
really poor from them mate. all it takes is a jersey to be passed about the squad at training to sign it then mikey picks it up at the superstore or something.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

You could maybe understand if they were dead apologetic and explained that they've been inundated with requests or something along those lines but to have a poor attitude to someone making a charity request is a scandal. Very poor from the club.
