Hi Ed, unsure if there's anything in this 'story' but apparently MON would be interested in coming back to Celtic as D. O. F.
If this was true, do you think he could do a job for us in this capacity? St. Martin of Paradise.
{Ed007's Note - In my opinion, Pedro it would be a massive risk to appoint MON as our DOF simply because he has no experience in the role. What does MON know about overseeing the academy, scouting & sports science departments etc etc

Totally agree with you Ed. I also think that he would find it hard not to interfere with the playing side and Ange certainly would not accept that.

I’d file this like we did with strachan. For me, he’s a legend at Celtic but the time has passed. For me I’d prefer if we went and got someone from Europe who are proficient in the role . Loads of clubs use them abroad, surely we could poach one of them and utilise modern views and methods. I think McKay has already alluded to this as he used Brentford as an example.

Appreciate your view and agree on the rationale behind them. I'm honestly not aware of what experience MON has in the areas you mention.
There is no doubt though, that in terms of knowledge and experience from a footballing perspective, both at club and international level, he brings a great deal to the table. He also knows the club, its demands and expectations.
I disagree that he'd interfere in the day to day first team decisions.
I'm still hoping that we do bring in a D. O. F. as I believe this would add a great deal of value and be a big step forward for us as a Club.

Like many fans I wouldn't be unhappy with MON at the club if there was a genuine need for a particular role that he has experience in but like many of you I don't think he'd suit the DOF role.
I know it's a role that doesn't have any clear parameters and it can be anything a club wants it to be but as mentioned by Mark there are certain functions usually included that a DOF is expected to carry out and MON doesn't really have the experience. HH.

Papers link us with everybody so when they sign for someone else, they say we lost out. Total bull. Same with that Egygtian guy. They make it up to do our heads in. Don't buy it.
