By the time we clear-out the unhappy and not good enough players, then eventually fill the positions we have been lacking for years and have at least two players for every position - it could well be?

There's added pressure because of how far behind we finished last season. It was a story of two one-off campaigns with them having just about the perfect season and us having our worst for a long, long time. Even if there were no changes to the squads you'd expect that points gap to naturally reduce because we couldn't be as bad again and they couldn't be as good again.

Not just about genuinely wanting to stay, whoever is staying will have to buy in 100% to tactics formation and fitness.
They will need to show willing to adapt and commitment to be the fittest they've ever been and unless a players head is 100% in it then they will be gone.

I see what you're saying PTFP, but during that time we used several goalies and numerous right and left backs and central defenders. My point was bringing in the quality that should have been done before now (instead of loans) , building and keeping a decent settled defense.
