Unlucky Scotland. Ye came up against a very good player tonight in Luka Modrić, who is capable of punishing any team. You can blame Clark team selection but that's for another day. Scotland brought Scottish supporters (bar the Sevconians) together. You had your final last Friday at Wembley against England. Enjoy it Scotland as you got to the Euro's.
Ps big bonus now for Celtic as Scotlands Celtic players have more time now with Ange Postecoglou. And we can also sell Christie faster now aswel.

Well said CP.

Cannot believe the stick that Christie gets on here.
There a lot of players who deserve stick more than Christie.
Ajer:- Won’t be missed.
Bain:- Won’t be missed.
Ajeti:- Won’t be missed.
Bitton:- Won’t be missed.
Edouard:-Won’t be missed.
Barkas:- Won’t be missed.
Jon Jo Kenny:- Won’t be missed.
Ntcham:- Won’t be missed.
Laxalt:- Won’t be missed.

Hail Hail

Agree with the list you gave above Boruc. Christie those get a lot of stick from Celtic supporters. A few main reasons are he didn't want to be at Celtic last season. Part of the group that down tools and gave up on Celtic last season. He didn't celebrate with other players when we scored or he scored. Christie on his day can be a good player but last season he made it clear that he has no intention to be at Celtic. Some might agree or disagree with me but Christie wants out of Celtic ASAP and we don't need players around the club with Ange Postecoglou starting.

Cork Paul its hard to think when he first signed for Real Madrid, he was voted La Liga worst signing of the season. Arguably one of the best players to play in that league.

Shame Ireland never qualified for euros. Not just because my ancestors hail from the emerald Isle, but because the Irish fans are like scottish fans. just want to support their national team and have a good time lol.

{Ed007's Note - To be fair he probably was at the time, he had no preseason training while negotiating his exit from Spurs and he was kept out the team by Alonso, Kheidra and Mesut Oil, most of his appearances were as a sub or being played out of position. It wasn't until Ancelloti replaced Mourinho that Modric started to shine at Madrid.}

There is no way Clark could have selected a better team. He could have put subs on earlier but we were outplayed all over the park. Yes we could have converted a few of our few chances but they could have as well and they did.

Edouard won't be missed?, well I suppose you could say it will be just his goals that will be missed, on the other hand, Christie, will be one of the easiest players to replace, and definitely don't be missed.

Agree Dnn38. It's a shame we weren't there. But the Ireland soccer is failing miserably at the moment. Like Scotland we don't have a real goal scorer in our team and that showed Scotland tonight aswel if you don't have a striker that gets goal you won't beat the big teams. I remember the Euro's in Poland a few years back and and we got hammered by Spain but the whole Irish support started to the fields of Athenry, brilliant to see. Roy Keane been Roy Keane, why are the fans singing for their team they just got hammered. They should be shouting abuse at them. Of course we all support Celtic but we can't change where we are from and because of this we should get behind our countries any time we can. I'll leave you with this
Be proud of who you are and where you are from.

In 2012 Ireland were beaten 3-1 in their first game by Croatia followed by a 4-0 drubbing by Spain, and a 2-0 defeat by Italy.
It was the first time that an Irish team had failed to win even a single point at a major championship finals.

Keano divides opinion on many fronts but he was absolutely right in his criticism. If only the Ireland team and management shared his attitude at the time because they actually weren't a bad team and should have been better than they showed themselves to be. They had Given, Long, Duff, Keane, McLean, O'Dea, McGeady, O'Shea, Doyle and Dunne within their ranks.
Quality players at the time and they were trounced in every game. HH.

He could have selected Patterson instead of O'Donnell, he could have played Tierney at left back, he could have played Gallagher and Cooper at centre back, in a back four of :
Patterson Cooper Gallagher Tierney, he could have played Forrest McTominay McGinn McGregor
in a middle four, he could have played Nesbit and Adams up front, he could have left Robertson out, he could have played 442,one things for sure, he could most certainly have selected a better team.

Cork Paul to be fair football is not Ireland’s number one sport 4th behind Gaelic football, Hurling, and Rugby union, whereas football is Scotland’s national sport .

23 Jun 2021 07:29:09
And Croatia would still have been better.

23 Jun 2021 09:52:10
Another big disappointment by Scotland in a major tournament.
Don't know what the answer is.
Countries smaller in population than Scotland seem to do better previously. Ie. Wales, Ireland, Iceland, Croatia, Denmark. Is it the anti Catholic thing. Scottish supporters booing Catholic players?

it’s behind horse racing as well.

Even in grass roots, I talked a lot to my friends who are training under age teams. And I'm told that they struggle some years to get young lads to sign up to play football. Where as the GAA are in a heathly position as young players still continue to play hurling and Football still. Major issues here with grass roots football with no support from FAI.

23 Jun 2021 13:05:40
After GAA, football is the number 1 participant sport in Ireland for young lads. There are many who play both since GAA games are traditionally played on Sundays and football is on a Saturday.
There are some who will pick one over the other but some of the biggest reasons why some young lads are not playing are nothing to do with a lack of interest in football.
Outside influences such as alcohol and drugs are ruining kids everywhere and it's not unique to Ireland or any country. HH.
