Good Morning everyone one, I am like everyonea bit of a loss at what is happening at our great club. I am not disappointed about Howe, I was not convinced that he was the right man anyway.
I have nothing against Postecoglou, I don't know enough to make a good judgement. He might be OK and he could find us another Naka or Viduka.
My main worry now is what about the coaching staff. That area needs complete rebuilding. If he is going to rely on JK and GS then we will do no better than last season, however if Fergal Harkin knows his stuff he will change everything from the youth setup upwards, look at the scouting process and the recruitment.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to clear away the deadwood, and I am not talking about the playing only, Pat Bonner says in today's paper, that Poste would be too much of a risk, and that Celtic should appoint JK as manager, with WGS in some sort of assistant capacity, I could not disagree more, Poste, if it is him, might be a risk, but I would rather take a risk, than continue with the same mediocre football, where team selection seems to be based more on loyalty than form, where tactics seem to be mystifying, and defence coaching non existent, .

John Kennedy was given the chance to prove himself and more to the point that he was not part of the problems and failed miserably. Players get bored of the same rigmarole and predictability after a while and it's imperative we have a complete overhaul top to bottom. Otherwise it's same 'stuff' different day and the team will go from bad to worse. We are notorious for not learning lessons and looking at sticking plaster fixes in a crisis and this needs major surgery.

Whoever it is, let's hope it's soon or by the end of the summer we'll be taking a risk on Pedro Caixinha unless he wants to stay in Vegas. Howe did we get into this situation?

Postlego has a far superior cv than howe .

30 May 2021 13:27:29
DRB if his CV is far superior why was he not first choice?

Have you seen the standard of teams he has competed against?

{Ed007's Note - And yet there were fans wanting the Man City Under 23 manager and Petrescu from the Romanian league - have you seen the standards of teams they competed against?
I dread to think what the reaction would have been if Celtic had appointed someone like Bielsa or Wegner years ago.}

You can only pish with the cock you've got .

Educated response that is DRB.

Ed I'm sure I've seen favourable comments on here towards Petrescu after he gave us a showing up.

With regards to Bielsa or Wenger it depends how far back you go doesn't it. Wenger, Are you talking pre winning the French League and Cup with Monaco or are you just drawing a comparison that he managed in Japan before he got the Arsenal job, I think he was a manager for around 10 years by that point.

Bielsa has been winning titles in competitive leagues since the early 90s. He did well with Athletic Bilbao to get to a European cup final around 2011 but what's he done since really? Won the Championship, so has Roy Keane. Realistically when would you have taken him as Celtic manager? It would have been hard to attract him away from more competitive leagues over the last 10 or so years.

There really is no comparison to be made between Wenger, Bielsa and Postecoglou.

Postecoglou's achievements in football to date are more comparable to Pedro Caixinha pre sevco.

He has done nothing to merit the Celtic job.

Rafa, Ragnick etc are pie in the sky stuff, I accept that but do you honestly not think if the Celtic board were performing their duties to the standard that they should be that we couldn't attract a Jesse Marshe, Jindrich Trpisovsky or Lucien Favre. I don't care that Howe has pulled their pants down and don't criticise them for that entirely but they have taken the eye of the ball massively.

I also find it all too convenient that the news broke after season tickets went on sale. There no chance they'd be on the numbers they are if Ange Postecoglou wast known to be first choice for manager.

The board are taking the fans for a ride.

{Ed007's Note - Is there a question in ALL of that for me?}

31 May 2021 01:16:47
Not really.

The Wenger/ Bielsa chat is hypothetical bullsh*t to be honest.

The rest is just my opinion that Postecoglou is not at the standard required of a Celtic manager and that the board have failed in their duty and have hoodwinked the fans.
