SOS-BHOY and Carrickbhoy,
I agree that Calmac should've been sent off at Ibrox if the old rules were in force.
But the new rules states that the referee made a massive mistake in his first big game in the Glasgow Derby.
Why would our referee supervisor Crawford Allen appoint Nick Walsh to referee his first National final when he FAILED in his first big game because of his inability to know the latest rules.
Bobby Madden is easily the best referee in Scotland and he showed his superior knowledge when he never booked young Welsh in the cup game at Ibrox, after Davis scored their opener, for a similar offence.
( when he played advantage )
It helps to be a good referee if you know the rules.

Buzz so what is the rule change you are referring to? Was it the first foul? I'm not exactly a refereeing enthusiast. Sure I didn't think the first foul had to be a yellow but for McGregor to commit a clear bookable offence with the second challenge the ref had no otion at that point. 2 wrongs not making a right.

New rule states that if you play advantage for a reckless tackle, then you cannot go back and issue the yellow card.

SOS-BHOY,
The rule changed for season 2020-21
If the referee plays an advantage after a foul and the attacking team score, then he can’t go back and show a yellow card for the original foul.
The referee can go back and show a straight Red Card but with Calmac it was only a yellow card offence and the referee made a huge mistake by showing a 2nd yellow.
And for that massive mistake in the first 30 minutes of the biggest match of his career to date, he gets REWARDED.
WHY?

Buzz, I have seen games in England, Spain, Italy and the CL where the ref booked a player after letting the advantage go on.
Refs make mistakes, it ISN'T some big conspiracy so GIVE US PEACE.

{Ed007's Note - Look up the rules, Jon.}

rules are rules john. a rule was broke that effected us that game and sent them on there way. we can take mistakes but this goes beyond mistakes.

Embarrassing bhoys 25 points and we are trying to blame a ref? We were so poor all season! Start by sorting out our squad, manager and board and we will return as champs next season but all this nonsense is embarrassing tbh.

Yes, Yes, Yes Rules are rules but my point is that all ref's make mistakes and it doesn't only effect us.
My mates who are Sevco supporters are convinced that the same refs who we think support/ favour Sevco are actually biased and give us all the decisions and will send me video's and photo's of the wrong decisions that they think have went against them.
Maybe we should just get rid of the refs and leave it purely down to VAR to make all the big calls, OH no wait how is that working down south.
Also regarding McGregor, if he hadn't been given a second yellow when he did, he would have been sent off the next tackle he made as he was flying about everywhere and it would only have been a matter of time before he saw Red.
We need to accept that the Red card would have made no difference to the result as we have been rotten all season.

@jonbhoy - i think you misunderstood what buzz actually said as at no point did he say it was a conspiracy. He merely pointed out that you should not be refereeing top level games if you do not know the rules of the game. Do you disagree with that?

@buzz if ref plays advantage at a red card offence then he can go back and issue a yellow.

As someone brought this up later in the thread, i should point that mcgregor got his second booking for a reckless tackle, which is a yellow card offence. Therefore, as someone pointed out the referee didn't apply the laws of the game correctly.

I don't think this was a bias act, which is even more worrying as you have the sfa putting forward refs who don't know the laws of the game and they are officiatiing in uefa, fifa and domestic tournaments.

23 May 2021 07:43:10
and that's the point john the second yellow was illegal a ref should know the rules. and for your sevie mates ask them what has the SFA did to them that makes them hate them so much i await there reply. ask them what they think of Hugh Dallas the head a refs at the time with anti catholic emails on his work email which was sent to 5 other colleges must have all been having a wee laugh at anti catholic racism. don't let that get in the way its all one big conspiracy mate. this season we have been gash but the the refs decision have helped them go the season unbeaten would they have really went unbeaten if they received the 3 straight red cards in a month of fixtures.
