Took my auld uncle oot for our week wander (he's 87 and getting along ok)
I take him to places he grew up in or worked around (Electricity board emergency van guy) and we ended up over the Barras. Walked past Traders Bar and there were 4 guys having a pint at the tables outside so me and the auld yin stopped for a wee guinness. great to chat with other people and he was in his element talking about how we only had "Haffey" a goalkeeper and piddling into beer cans etc. on the slopes.
He even recited the Johnny Thompson song (well, what he remembered) . His favourite line was always "A famous face was missing, from the Green and White Brigade and the told me Johnny Thompson, his last game he had played. (still send a wee shiver down) H. H.
