I can't wait for a new manager to come in and shake things up, get the squad trimmed of wantaway players and the garbage that should never of been signed.

I would cash in on Mcgregor while we can, his sale could raise funds to bring 3 quality players in alone
I want the next manager to get rid of the holding midfielder as well, Celtic playing a holding midfielder has never made sense to me, we should be good enough to dominate in the SPL

If a holding player is required then surely its in Europe, however we need to be more positive and bring some excitement back for the fans, I don't want to see side to side passing anymore its woeful.

nonsense mate every team needs a holding midfielder and i mean every team when i say that that includes yer Barcelona and madrids.

A team should be able to transition formations throughout the game easily going from 4 5 1 to 3 4 3 for example
This requires good coaching something which has been lacking for the past 18 months.

Turner a holding midfielder is a necessity. Sure we want that midfielder to have.

There's a difference between a holding midfielder and a deep playmaker though. Both sit in the same position and most attacks start through them. Rodgers used Brown this way and although it worked well 1st season it didn't when teams parked the bus as Brown can't pick a killer pass. McGregor took up the role when Brown was injured and we played the best football all season. Might be worth looking at again.

I don't agree with you lot at all, we've had teams in the past where we play two in the middle, oh and man city don't play holding midfielder they press and close down all over the pitch, barcelona never played a holding midfielder when deco xavi and inesta played together, having brown sitting deep or mcgregor has stifled our play, however if you believe that's the style of football we need to play in the domestic league then christ we have no chance of being a decent team to watch ever!
I'm bored to the back teeth of people thinking we need to play with CBs being baby sat by a defensive midfielder.

Man City have Fernandinho and Rodri; Barcelona were at their best when Busquets joined Xavi and Iniesta in midfield, Liverpool won with Fabinho at holding midfield and suffered his absence this year. Bayern play Kimmich there. Of course all of those are cracking footballers as well as holding midfielders, but you’re kidding yourself if you think we don’t need a holding midfielder!
