Was looking at the Celtic share price the other day, when I went to the LSE website for news of appointments.

One thing that struck me was the downward trend from the start of the season until Lennon got sacked. Think it had dropped from £1.20 to 95p. That is a loss of £250,000 for every million shares you have.

I bet Lawwell and DD were watching that more than the results on the park and when it hit 95p, they thought, right we better sack Lennon as the price is gubbed and we have season tickets to sell.

Share price only matters to those who are trading them and I don’t think Desmond is from what I read on here.

Not sure I agree with that Steph.

Shares are something I know about through my everyday work guys.
The price is of interest to both buyers and sellers on any given day for different reasons however many investors watch trends over various time cycles and they incorporate this in their long term investment choices and strategies.
Whether it's Jimmy in his kitchen who dabbles in shares or the fund manager of an investment company, share price fluctuation is something they pay a huge amount of attention to. HH.

It is not my field of expertise besty but to add to what you said, I would imagine the share price is of paramount importance to a business if they wish to retain the business.

As has happened on many occassions, when the share price plummets, the company is vulnerable to a hostile takeover. So I would assume that owners and CEOs keep a constant eye on the share price for that reason alone.

LAW, yes you're right, it is important. The price of shares and the number of shares issued are major factors in determining the value of a company in the markets if a buyer were to be interested. They're not the only statistics to be considered but they do play a significant part in the overall process.

PS: Are you still holding out for Keano to come in? lol.
