Hebdry called up, are we going to miss a trick with this boy, he seems to have come on a ton,

I'd be interested in seeing him play some pre season games Mally.

Unsure, although I think he's still under contract, if we can prevent him from signing for the Belgian club?

I've been reading a lot of stuff like scouting reports on him mally and it looks like this team play the perfect set up and tactics for him. He plays in the middle of 3 CBs and does a lot of the organising, in there he doesn't get pulled out wide as much where he seems to struggle at times.

Apparently they have a option to buy for €2 million.

I genuinely thought there was a maybe a player in there and certainly hadn’t ruled it out. The club were too quick to right him off particularly when you see the repeated opportunities afforded others. He was just a young laddie taking a big step up. Another Taylor for me that fans just choose to scapegoat.

PS: Happy St. Patrick’s Day. God Bless ☘️.

My understanding is that Hendry's next move is totally out of our hands. The deal agreed with Oostende is written in a way that says if he and Oostende want it to become permanent then we cannot refuse and cannot call him back from the loan deal.
In theory he and they could come to an agreement to complete the transfer then they could sell him immediately to another club for a profit that also benefits him financially. There is nothing we can do and we cannot refuse to complete the deal.
It's our own fault for letting him go under those terms and there were many fans here who said they were glad to get rid of him and he had been a waste of money. Looks like we might just have to suck it up. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Hendry only has one year left on his Celtic deal as well, Besty. Would the people wanting him back take the risk of giving him another 3/4-year deal here? I certainly wouldn't plus Hendry has no intention of coming back to Celtic and hasn't for the past 18 months or so.}

Get what your saying ed but av got that feeling he goes and before you know it he's a 30 Mill player . might be sg@t as well right enough.

{Ed007's Note - But there's nothing Celtic can do even if they wanted to. Oostende have an agreed deal with the Club and Hendry - who was the one that pushed for the option to buy deal after both clubs couldn't agree a fee - and as Besty says the Belgians can buy him at the set price and sell him on right away. Hendry wanted
If it is true the way the deal is structured then Hendry himself would be financially liable if he broke the agreement with Oostende - would a Pub League team be willing to cover that on top of a transfer fee to us?}

Ed007, that kinda sums it up then. There's no point even having any further discussion on the matter. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Hendry was another - Lawwell - signing that should never have been made but this stuff reminds me of the time Pukki was on fire for Norwich and people were asking if we had made a mistake getting rid of him too soon. Sometimes a move for a player just clicks - look at Scott Sinclair for us - or the player realises what he needs to do to improve - like Pukki - but it doesn't mean their previous clubs made a mistake letting them go.}

Why would the boy ever be interested in coming back, he never got a chance and when he did play he was slated by the support as not being good enough.
Can you imagine if he did come back and he had a couple of misplaced passes, the support would be howling at him again.

Exactly Jonbhoy71. Some fans have very short memories. There's no point blaming Celtic or Hendry for this deal. Most fans were shouting 'good riddance' and 'I'll drive him there myself' when he went to Oostende. Good luck to the lad. HH.

Some player's aren't cut out for the toughness of the Scottish game. Some players and pundits think it's a free ride and a retirement game up here when it's not. Eg Joey Barton was put in his place.

{Ed007's Note - Look at Duffy, there was some pundit from down south said he would finish the top scorer up here.}

17 Mar 2021 14:54:02
Speaking of Duffy, Ed. Can we all correctly assume that he won't be here next season. HH.

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think so.}
