Keane would be step up from lennon in many ways, authority, player pulling power and general profile internationally etc.

Clearly not at the same level as Rogers in terms of player development, but what matters in that regard is the support team.

Regardless of manger it would be a larger concern if Kennedy and the chief scout remain in post.

Kennedy is stale and unproven outside the walls of celtic his body Language with lennon was shocking. The head of recruitment is a long-term mistake.

So Keane is not necessarily a bad choice, but his support team is fundamental.

At celtic he would instill a mentality which has been absent, even during the Rogers era as evident by our European record in that time which was poor.

As a manager remind me how many times Keane got his team to the last 16 of the CL?

How many league titles has he won as a manager?

How many cups has he won as a manager?

From my recollection his greatest achiement was getting Sunderland promoted from the Championship.

Really have no idea how you reached the conclusion that Keane is a better manager than Lennon.

Crazy logic.

In fairness he took on two jobs where the teams where awful where as Lennon got Celtic at a time where we had no real competition

For every good level result Lennon had he had 2 or 3 hugely embarrassing results

You can’t judge the two fairly. Keane flopped at Ipswich Lennon flopped at Bolton - that’s the only things that these 2 can be judged on.

Not saying i want Keane but going by your logic LAW we should just hire Lennon back as anyone we hire will be a backwards step as they won't be as a good a manager as Lennon.

There are better candidates than Keane to be our next manager.

LennonAtWork are you on having a laugh?
You are going on about Keane not winning any cups, not getting into the last 16 of the CL, not winning any titles but yesterday on another post you said that although he wasn't your first choice you would be happy with Wilder as our new manager. How many things has he won?
How many Titles, Cups had Rodgers won or got his teams into the last 16 of the CL before he came here and how did he do in Europe with Celtic?
O'Neill won the League Cup but what else had he done?
You then also stated in another post that because Ferguson and Mourinho had been sacked that Wilder isn't a bad manager.
You honestly can't be placing Wilder in the same bracket as Ferguson and Mourinho.

Wilder has a much better track record than Roy Keane.

Rodgers had taken Liverpool to within a whisker of winning the EPL.

O'Neil had won the League Cup with Leicster and done Wonders with Wycombe Wanderers before that. He had also got Leicster to the Quarter Finals of the UEFA cup.

Lennon actually took over an extremely rubbish team after Mowbray, had to sell his best player and done a complete rebuild. In his first season he was up against Walter Smith and finished 1 point behind and after that he won every league title apart from this one.

Now you do not have to agree but I would take Lennon before Keane every day of the week as I think Keane will come in and upset the players and don't think he will improve us in the slightest. Would also take John Kennedy before Keane, although I don't want any of Keane, Lennon or Kennedy.

Don't get me wrong I really like Keane and have nothing but respect for his playing career, just don't rate him as a manager. Getting Keane would make me feel even lower than I did when we appointed Lennon right after winning the treble treble.

Lennon should never have been in contention to return to celtic. Sacked at Bolton and hibs.
