It will NEVER HAPPEN but.

I was thinking would it not be a nice way to end his association with Celtic that Mr Lawwell came out and APOLOGISED for his mistakes.
In my eyes it would show a bit of humility from someone we fans perceive as an arrogant, egotististical man.
Organisational wise Lawwell had no equals he built Celtic Football Club into a viable, modern thinking and SOLVENT club, but his interference in the football side left a lot to be desired. I am thinking mainly of McGinn who would have been Brown's natural successor and probably captain also, then there is Ivan Toney who has scored 26 goals this season and 50 goals in only two seasons, he would have been French Eddies natural replacement.
Over to you Peter.

Notwithstanding this season which was a monumental act of self harm I think Peter Lawells achievements significantly outweigh his failures sufficiently not to warrant an apology and I’m as disappointed as anybody.

At least he got a heated driveway out the gig 🤣 but although I never agreed with a lot of the transfer business done, especially mcginn and toney who woukd vastly improve our team, we were usually financially sound under his tenure. but definitely time for change.

@JFP we will agree to disagree lol
By the way still waiting to hear from you on our project.

TIM

To what project doth thou refer?

13 Mar 2021 10:35:16
He doesn't strike me as the apologizing type or someone who either sees or admits their faults?

For someone so financially motivated, the failure to capitalise on CL entry money by not preparing for qualifiers over the last decade is utterly baffling to me. I know we don’t have a guarantee we’d get there, but, think we never gave ourselves the best chance. That was down to HIM!

Mally

I don’t know why his heated driveway hits a nerve to the extent it does. 😂

A tad pretentious and undoubtedly a luxury but hardly a crime against humanity.

McGinn wanted down south. Regardless what anyone says. We eventually matched the offer and he rejected it.
If he had really wanted us he would have signed.
We were used to lever a deal and, like Celtics original offer, it's just business.
As for directors etc. Apologising, we have to remember anything said by them can affect stocks and shares prices so they are always guarded in comments.

He failed to. get us into the CL 9 out of the last 12 years by going cheap and never being prepared. How a CEO can miss the biggest financial target 75% of the time us regarded as a good businessman bamboozled me. I won't muss his dithering cheap skate punt addiction. Good riddance from me.

13 Mar 2021 12:27:07
Tiny am convinced we flaffed about that much and wasted precious time that boy would have signed. we fell asleep like toney who's banging them away.

An apology for this season would be nice, but so would him personally paying for a season ticket for every fan that bought one this year. The latter is also more likely.

If I were in Lawwell's shoes during the McGinn transfer, I would have done the exact same. If McGinn had really wanted to sign for us then he would have done so and told Hibs he was not going anywhere else. Instead he chose Villa, which is not the fault of Lawwell. Keep in mind we match the offer.
