see the dons fans split on Scott brown being manager a lot of comments praising him saying that's exactly what they need he is a winner and great leader a lot of them are for him getting the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Broony cut-his-teeth at management; as he has worked under some very good and varied bosses over the years and the doors of Celtic Park will always be open for a return?

12 Mar 2021 21:11:40
I'd like to see him be a part of the new management set up next season. He's a leader and a voice we need next season for the rebuild. With all the new changes next season Brown know how about the club is essential to the new manager. We already lack leaders on the pitch. Just putting this out there is Mcgregor a good leader on the pitch. Not vocal enough for me. That's why I would keep Brown around.

Brown hasn't the communication skills / intelligence to be a top level coach so sorry let him go to pastures new he runs about like the boss but sadly basic passes seem to be to much for him now and more interested in winding people up than doing his job, searved us well but we need to move on.

13 Mar 2021 01:23:43
Hope he goes as it means we can play soro.

It’s now being reported that Brown looks like being offered a one year extension at Celtic.

13 Mar 2021 08:46:31
The rumour I heard was brown was getting a new 3yr contract for coaching only. Don't know if it's true or balls but that's what's going around at my work.

13 Mar 2021 09:14:59
any celtic supporter that wants scott brown to leave our club hasn't got a clue.

13 Mar 2021 09:22:25
Offering Brown a 1yr extension is very short sighted. He's been very poor this season not the warrior in midfield that we were use to. He offers very little in football terms. Passes back or to the side and constantly slows play down. If he's at the forefront of the new era we are worse off than i thought.

{Ed007's Note - The year's extension will only put him at the forefront of the transition in helping the new management team get settled in, it's good to have strong characters in the dressing room onside during major changes. Brown be the buffer between the squad and the new management team, I just don't see him being a first-choice pick next season and Brown will know that himself.}

For me there is a place at Celtic Park for one of our greatest ever captains and natural born leader especially in a period of transition. SB could provide continuity.

Comment above about his lack of intelligence is a bit cheap. Did you ever hear Brendan Rodgers attempts at speaking English? Or read his book? I’ll tell you one thing Neil Lennon was considerably more articulate.

Hailing John Clark for his achievements and long term commitment and association with the club and rightly so and castigating Scott Brown in the same thread just about says it all.

The fickleness known to prevalent among football fans appears to be alive and well among sections of the Celtic support this season.

His time as a player has sadly come close to an end. He has been a brilliant captain for us but it is time for the next generation to create memories.

Thevreason i would like him to move is that the only time we have looked like a team this season was with Soro but the manager dropped him for Brown and ended that run. Now that is not Browns fault but if he is not there he can't be played.

well said jfp.

Pointless paying a guy a big wage to be a bit part player. Would need to be on a 1/ 3 of the wage he's on and the understanding game time will be limited. Broony would never agree to that. Yes he's been a great servant to us but all good things come to a end.

{Ed007's Note - So who in Scotland is going to pay a 36-year old Brown anywhere near he will get at Celtic, even on a reduced contract which it obviously would be? If he wants to keep playing he can move on and earn buttons compared to now or he can stay at Celtic, sitting on our bench and dipping his toe into coaching for still more money that he would probably get anywhere else.
I doubt Scott Brown is money orientated or he would have went down south when he had the chances.}

Ed the look on Scott Brown’s face when that Cretan made that comment about his sister that stopped him in his tracks outside Ibrox will be an abiding memory for me. He had a look beyond disgust I’ll never forget it. They hate because he has grown to love us.

As Jock Stein said Celtic might not have been my first love-but they’ll be my last.

I think that quote could be equally attribute to Scott Brown.

{Ed007's Note - Spot on 👍

Ed
If Scott isn't money orientated. Will he not move on to play regular. He's not the type to be happy sitting on the bench.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know what he'll do.}

13 Mar 2021 17:00:45
He lacked a lot of leadership this season. His times up as a player - if he wants to coach let him stay in the youth set up. McGregor is as important as Brown for the future.

I seen another good thread on the Sevco pages go bump in the middle of the night.
Not for the first time this week.
