Fingers crossed we could see Forrest on the bench morra.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Mar 2021 12:02:14
Rich T he’s been a massive loss the critics should have a rethink for some reason James Forrest has never been a favourite for many. We’ve suffered massively for lack of width this season.

06 Mar 2021 12:23:04
The critics don't need to rethink anything. He gets criticised when he plays poorly and gets praised when he plays well. He was absolutely honking before he got injured.

06 Mar 2021 12:37:34
Whatever you think of JF - and I know he can blow hot and cold - his goals, assists and presence on the wing has been badly missed and a factor of our miserable season, especially with no other wide men.

06 Mar 2021 12:45:04
Kev the fans have never just quite taken too him because he’s no a badge kisser and doesn’t play to the crowd or feed us $hite unlike KT and BR. Where are they now? They certainly weren’t here for 10 in a row if we’d achieved it contrary to the songs sung. But wee Jamesie is still here albeit with no song.

06 Mar 2021 13:32:33
Forest is badly missed what other wi gee gets the goals and assists he gets Al bet slippy wishes Kent could deliver like the wee man.
Get him Fit and go all out for the sc.

06 Mar 2021 13:48:46
Jamesey my fav player. He has been colossal miss and not just in an attacking sense with goals assists. His defensive side of game has been missed also the amount of times he would come inside and steal ball. Always available as outball on right he knows the position inside out in both directions A major contributing factor in our season IMO Quicker he back the better jamesey and Jonjo Kenny would be good partnership should Kenny stay.

06 Mar 2021 14:24:09
Forest been best since delia arrived.

06 Mar 2021 15:02:42
I agree with you to an extent JFP but I also remember when Deila came out and stated publicly that Forrest wasn't going to sign a new deal - then when he realised he wasn't going to do any better he eventually signed. So I don't quite buy the notion that he's more loyal than Tierney, more that he was just never quite good enough to get the big money move. This next part isn't aimed at you personally but it annoys me when Tierney's mentioned in the same breath as Rodgers. All this talk about if Rodgers had stayed until the summer he would have left a legend, pick where he wanted his statue etc. it's a load of rubbish because that's exactly what Tierney did. He stayed until the summer, got us a record fee and is still a "rat" to some because he kissed the badge and shouted into a megaphone a few times.

06 Mar 2021 15:30:32
Deep river bhoy a don't hink Tierney or Rodgers is a rat, rodgers brought dembele eduard, gt us 9 million for leaving, sold armstrong for 8 mil with your left of his contract, board bever matched his ambitions he done lot for our club and as for Tierney he's always supported celtic footballers have short career and bhoy has to maximise incoming before retiring just like all of us would if had change plus we received a large sum a hope he comes bk before past it n ends his career once a bhoy always a bhoy.

06 Mar 2021 15:54:28
Although I do think they are both rats . I never posted anything about them today. Tierney was superfanbhoy one more season wouldn't have affectd his next 5 or so year multi millions pound retirement funding plan . anyway he wouldve retired a multi millionaire if he stayed at celtic so show much more money is required to sell your soul.

06 Mar 2021 16:04:43
Kev

I agree and I don’t consider KT a ‘rat’ the laddie undoubtedly is a fan but the bottom line is he’s an ex-Celtic player.

CFC Johnny

Brendan Rodgers is a different kettle of fish. He used Celtic as a stepping stone. I don’t blame him for that but he wasn’t honest about that. it was always about Brendan. He fed us $hite fron day one and we bought it. We forever wasted a Christmas song and a hymn singing his praises. Read the Danny McGrain story in his book that never happened. It’s the only book I’ve ever ceremoniously burned.

He’s also deluded. ‘

I know the Celtic fans are hurt’.

Naw Brendan we were raging no hurt. You bolted and tried to take our backroom staff with you. Neil Lennon failed to achieve 10 in a row albeit all the blame doesn’t lie at his door but Brendan Rodgers personally and single handedly jeopardised the 9 and should be remembered for that.

‘I’d like to think I could come back and manage the club one day. ’

Aye dae ye aye ya egotistical walloper.

06 Mar 2021 16:30:03
JF on his game is very talented and a potential match winner on his own but for me he seems to find an extra gear when it's getting close to signing a new contract.
We've missed him this season, no doubt, but then again we've missed the best part of 11 players this season.

06 Mar 2021 16:38:50
JFP, I can't agree with you on KT.
That bhoy gave everything for Celtic including playing more games in a season than anyone else in Europe as well as playing when he was clearly injured and spending two thirds of his life at the Club.

Do I blame him for making the move and guaranteeing his family financial security (A) considering how bad his his hip injury was at tge time (B) the s@#t show he left - no I don't at all.

But, it's your opinion and I respect that.

06 Mar 2021 16:41:56
Apologies, DRB re KT comments.

06 Mar 2021 16:52:26
Pedro as I said above I don’t consider to be a rodent that accolade for me go’s to Maurice Johnston and Brendan Rodgers in that order.

06 Mar 2021 17:00:55
My apologies again JFP, I didn't have my Gregory's on.

06 Mar 2021 17:20:47
Pedro 👍 Gregory Pecks 😂 It’s a while since I’ve heard that!

06 Mar 2021 17:42:23
Pedro👍.

06 Mar 2021 17:42:37
pedro. Tierney had not long singed a new 6 year contract worth millions so his finical side of life was secure. playing in the so called glamour league was more appealing to him than staying a year more with us and creating history. he was thinking of leaving the season before when Everton were interested an Rodgers talked him into staying for another season so he was up for jumping ship a lot sooner than he did. listen best of luck to him hope he does well down there as it helps us for demanding bigger fees in the future.

me personally if i was in his position i would have stayed for that 9 in a row season and creating more history and cementing a special legend status that's just me but. i would have achieved everything i could have ever wanted in football if i was to become a Celtic first team player and important player to the squad. everyone in football is of the mindset you have to play in England to be something in football and your achievements to be relevant. give me a Paul mcstay or tommy burns or Scott brown career any day over playing for a team down south and mega bucks contract.

06 Mar 2021 17:43:52
KT played through injury while his body was developing for our Club and it will ultimately cut his career short. Whether that's down to bad management or whatever the boy will always be alright in my book. Look at these players who are happy to sit on the sidelines raking it in when nothing is wrong with them.

06 Mar 2021 17:47:45
Brendan helped change James Forrest into a good player.
In about 6 years before Brendan came to Celtic, James only had 5 assists.
Since 2016/ 17 season, James Forrest has had over 45 assists.

06 Mar 2021 18:11:35
Ped 71. I am inclined to agree with you about raising game when contract running down but I think applies to all players not just jamesey. Is it a coincidence Eddie a form picked up in last couple months before leaving in summer. ? I think all players raise game when contracts running down. Jamesey Forrest was more than good enough to move on to better league but chose not to Our best player last few years IMO for season or two when Rodgers came his game was at a very high level.

06 Mar 2021 18:31:44
Tierney is a Celtic legend for me and nothing will change that. Unless he does a MOJO lol.

06 Mar 2021 18:44:36
Legend? Ooft.

06 Mar 2021 19:19:27
I couldn't believe it when KT left before the 10, but even with him here he couldn't have single handedly stopped the collective bottle crash when faced with the first real challenge for the title. I wasn't angry with KT, just sorry to see him go. For me we don't have a single defender who is good enough if we want to qualify for the CL. And if Ajer leaves, it will be even worse. I hope KT does brilliantly and gets sold on for a fortune, so we can get a few quid in down the line.

{Ed007's Note - First real challenge? Weren't they saying they were going to win the league last January after beating us or do we count that as their failure rather than our success?}

06 Mar 2021 19:21:38
LAW
KT is the best left back to play for Celtic since Gemmell.
I love Tosh also.

{Ed007's Note - Tom Boyd?}

06 Mar 2021 20:14:33
@lennonatwork. Kieran Tierney was a great celtic player who was a fan lived his dream then moved on at a very young age after 4 seasons in the first team. he is way far off being a Celtic legend.

{Ed007's Note - I agree, UI. Would you put KT in the same category as the likes of McNeill, McStay, Tommy Burns or Jinky? The word "legend" is thrown about far too much these days and actually takes away kudos to the true legends.
Tierney is part of making history and a legendry team but as an individual legend it's a big no from me.}

06 Mar 2021 21:06:48
Ed 👍 UI 👍 It’s an even bigger naw for me doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the players named above.

07 Mar 2021 05:32:08
Absolutely not lads, like you I reserve legendary status for people who put the club before themselves, in my eyes that’s what makes a legend. Guys like Peter grant deserve to be higher up the ranks than teirney. That man might have less talent than a lot of players have but he has more commitment and class than most of them.

07 Mar 2021 08:35:23
On KT, agree Ed that 'legend' is thrown about like confetti at a wedding (in the 80's anyway) and KT doesn't merit that moniker.

However, whilst with Celtic (from a wean of 7yrs of age) he gave everything for Celtic and developed into an excellent LB.

He resigned possibly knowing a move was on the cards therefore guaranteeing the club he loved getting a good few quid when he left.

Legend no, excellent player and respect - YES.

'Signed when was seven, it filled his heart with joy'

{Ed007's Note - I don't think KT will be the only youngster's heart that filled with joy when they signed for Celtic and if RD hadn't been appointed he would have moved on to play first team football elsewhere as Lennon never fancied him and would have stuck with Izaguirre at LB if he hadn't left the first time.
I don't think Tierney deserves any more respect than the other players involved in the Invincibles and Quadruple Treble, in fact doesn't every ex-player - apart from Judas and Kenny Miller - deserve our respect? Even ones we don't like personally.}

07 Mar 2021 10:07:54
agree ed. Tierney is no were near players like the ones you mentioned would be a bit insulting to put him in the same bracket as them for what they gave to the club.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

07 Mar 2021 12:05:50
KT would have been a legend, but chose somewhere else to achieve that status. And Ed, as for the first real challenge, I believe it is. When it came to getting over the line against an improved Sevco this year, they bottled it. Utterly soiled it. Not one good performance all year. Wasn't helped by players like Duffy who sold more jerseys than Adidas this season. Barkas who can't make a save, Ajeti and Klimala who can't score. A defensive unit who can't win a header, a midfield that where below par from the off and a manager who coukdnt see what Turnbull and Soro could do until it was all over. That mentality we thought we had crumbled when it mattered most. It's all about how the board respond. Hands up who thinks they will the way we need?

{Ed007's Note - Yet we got it over the line against an improved TRIFK last season.}

07 Mar 2021 13:15:27
Yes we did and played great football, but this year they were better. And we crumbled. That 2.0 game at us was by a way, the most cowardly pathetic performance I have ever seen against them. They shat it last year after Christmas we shat it since the CL qualifiers in which we were embarressing from. the off.

07 Mar 2021 13:17:18
Two seasons ago we apparently had a title challenge on our hands. Then we wiped the floor with them and all of a sudden it actually wasn't a proper challenge. Exact same nonsense again last season. Does that mean the only reason they've won the league this year is because they didn't have a challenge? Do they not deserve credit because we've been rotten?
