I don't have a Scooby how the processe goes as far as appointing a manager or a DoF But surely they have talked about this for some time and surely they have names already to interview or approach. IMO IF we are going for a DoF we need him in Yesterday to start getting things going forward I understand people will say we need time to get the right people in I agree but how much time do the board need They must have been talking about this from ATLEAST Christmas There is a lot of work to do from now until the start of the new season and time is running out to get organised.

Agree0 Disagree0

The warning signs were there since as early as Oct/ Nov that this season was taking a nosedive and there was a sideshow of other issues and problems that were not just going to sort themselves out.
Most other big clubs would have heeded the warnings and would have had the foresight to meet, diagnose, plan and execute a solution. However, being Celtic, we waited and suffered; jumping form crisis to crisis all the while, we were humiliated in Europe and domestic trophies were being written-off, one by one.
Here we are almost in March, still wondering, worrying and waiting.

My hope is that DD has learned a painful but valuable lesson this season if all seasons.

In the past 20ish years we have been second best, with little hope, DD has stepoed in and produced MON and BR, the two most successful managees since Stein.

In recent years when it's been left upto PL its been 'success but on a budget' a bit soap on a rope, novell when you opened it at Christmas but as the year went it proved pretty useless.

IF and until it happens, it's still an IF, we bring in a capable D. O. F followed by a progressive Manager then we should finally put an end to the rollercoaster Managerial experiences we've had in past years.

The D. O. F. implements a structure, ethos and process around the way we play, the players we buy, sell, how we train and our youth set up.

The Manager and future Managers are selected and hired specifically to fit into that style of play and structure and the same goes for the playing staff.

Pedro71 I’m a bit confused with your post when you said for the past 20ish years we have been second best with little hope and that M O N and BR the two most successful managers since Stein . N Lennon won 10 trophies as manager. O Neill and Rodgers both won 7 and as for being second best how many trophies have we won in that period you refer to.

Apologies Oldkilly, you're spot on. I've got fingers like Richmond sausages and only noticed I ommitted the word 'when' after I posted and on reflection, should have went further back than 20yrs.

My point being, the days when we were (and some possibly still are) on tenderhooks debating which manager ee should bring in as it seems that one person will somehow wave the proverbial magic wand and make it all great again should be a thing of the past.

All I'm saying is that we need to put as much time and investment into the structure of the footballing side of the club as we've done on the commercial side.

Hence the D. O. F. style of play, process etc

I hope that makes sense.
