Ed I know this is a question that's at the forefront of most fans minds but do you expect lennon to be gone today or are we stuck with him till the summer? Personally I think he would've gone long ago but after Saturday and his public outburst again regarding the players ( which in the good old days players would've accepted and got on with it) I just don't see how lennon is going to get anything out these guys now as they've gave nothing all season as it is, surely it's best all round to go now?

{Ed007's Note - I've been told by someone who can be a bit hit & miss with his info that Celtic are planning to speak with Lennon this week to discuss his severance package. I'm taking that with a pinch of salt as I think he will see the season out but of he does go I expect Kennedy to step-up.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What would your thoughts be on Kennedy stepping up Ed, it's a no for me he's another one sitting in the dug out with his hands in his pockets.

{Ed007's Note - If Lennon goes we'll need someone to take over until the end of the season. Kennedy is a very good and well respected coach, I don't know what people expect from an assistant but he's only there to advise the manager, whether or not the manager heeds that advice is another question.}

As I see it Kennedy - as part of the management team, is part of the problem and if/ when a the manager is released, they should all go.

{Ed007's Note - So who do we get to take training and pick the team etc for matches?}

IMO it should never have got to this point as we enter February.
A new manager and 'posse' should've been identified some time ago. The slide was odds-on to drag-on after the CL (and EL collapse) , the 'Players don't want to be here' and the toothless Sevco game.
The unrest and attitude problems only increased and spread while the malcontents were never dropped - OK, possibly because of limited alternatives, but partly because he didn't trust, Soro or Turnbull to step in earlier and couldn't decide on best 11 or formation and a promising transfer window flattered to deceive.
His job was made untenable by mutinous players, multiple CV issues and having to watch the points difference stretch by the week, while we had games suspended or were penalized more than most.
This shocking season is not all down to NL by any means; but he has been on a hiding to nothing for far too long and it could even get worse - and that's why I would prefer a brand new 'broom'.

Lawwell till the end if the season.

I thought Kennedy was supposed to be a defensive coach? Is that true? If he is a defensive coach, he’s terrible at it. Bad managerial tactics aren’t the reason for the inability to win headers at set pieces or an international defender continuously losing the flight of the ball when it’s popped over his head.
Manager says he doesn’t take training, yet the players are clearly unfit.
The manager has no idea what he’s doing, but it seems from the outside that neither do his coaches.

{Ed007's Note - No he's not a defensive coach, he's the assistant manager. Assistants do what the manager tells them do, it's Lennon's training drills etc that Kennedy & Strachan implement.}

I think it would be interesting to see now if lennon goes, see what Kennedy can do, if the players react then you know it was a problem with lennon, seemed to be around a while now kennedy so must have something, did rodgers want to take him aswell when he left?

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate Rodgers did want to take Kennedy and while Rodgers was here he wanted Kennedy to be made DOF.}

01 Feb 2021 13:58:54
If Kennedy is a good and well respected coach, what part of the game does he coach?, when he coaches. The defence has been leaking goals for ages, way back to VVD and before, so when Kennedy was coaching, what did he coach?

01 Feb 2021 14:01:05
How about Kennedy, Scott Brown and Parker until end of season Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Garry Parker? He's working as a as a performance analyst for Oxford United. Lawwell blocked Lennon bringing him back when he got the job permanently.}

01 Feb 2021 14:06:13
Personally I think if Kennedy is suited to the DOF role then I’d offer him that. I think a new manager must bring in his own back room staff, guys he’s worked with before and trusts 100%. If hoestly love to know what’s going through Lennons head right now, he must surely know the games up now. he's got players there not trying a hoot for him and he’s more or less acknowledged that, he knows the majority of fans now are at the end of their tether and want change so surely between himself lawwell and desmond a meeting should be arranged to get an amicable solution for him to move on immediately. There is absolutely no positive to be had by lennon hanging on till the summer.

ED. I know he’s assistant manager, but I was under the impression he dealt with defensive coaching during the week.
Surely the manager and assistant manager don’t sit in his office watching fail videos and kitten videos on YouTube Monday to Friday? Mind you.

{Ed007's Note - Training schedules are set by the manager and the sports science department, JK does what NL tells him to.}

01 Feb 2021 14:23:32
Sorry ed I meant Strachan not parker.

{Ed007's Note - Right lol to be honest, Paul that wouldn't surprise me.}

01 Feb 2021 14:41:59
Problem for Kennedy is that he would always be seen as a cheap option/ management puppet. He would probably have to go and prove his capabilities elsewhere first to have any chance with the support.

01 Feb 2021 14:42:05
The manager has said he doesn’t take training. Sports science guys aren't planning defensive drills.
Someone is on the field trying to organise the players in set piece practices and that sort.
Lennon might say Monday is attacking and Tuesday is defending, but there has to be someone hands on trying to make the players aware of individual roles and tactics.

01 Feb 2021 15:17:26
Talking about defensive drills and coaching, I remember a while back, can't remember who it was but one of the players from Martin oneils squad saying they never once practiced defending corners or set pieces.
Everyone picked a man or position and stuck to it.
