Absolutely delighted with the news this morning, good riddance Peter, he might of done good with the financial side of the club but only at great expense of the footballing side, well I did so good but I still feel he has cost us a lot of money in other ways, he has downgraded and held back the footballing department for far too long.
I hope Dominic McKay shows a lot more ambition and wish him much success. Hopefully now we can appoint a manager and Dof that can take us forward, we are Glasgow Celtic and should not settle for mediocrity. Hail Hail

I think I will celebrate tonight with some of Enrico's grape juice.

We don't need support like you thanks,

29 Jan 2021 13:59:22
@ positive celtic, Who do you think you are to make statements like, I eat, sleep and breath Celtic, I've just not been happy with the my club has been run for a long time.
It's idiotic supporters like you that think their some sort of super fan, it's because of fans like you that pl has ripped the p! sh for so long.

29 Jan 2021 15:03:47
BarryBhoy Positive Celtic is the same as you a Celtic fan who is entitled to his opinion the same as you and everyone else. Lawwell may not appeal to you but 29 trophies in 17 years during his tenure is quite an achievement too many fans have been caught up in the 10 in a row quest. There comes a time in all businesses where changes happen at the top i agree we need a new face and I wish the new CEO well and if he does as well as Lawwell I’ll be happy. For you to castigate Lawwell and Positive Celtic is way over the top.

29 Jan 2021 15:31:17
Everyone’s entitled to an opinion but during lawwells time at Celtic, in the main it’s mostly been a success. I’m glad there’s going to be change, I think after 17 years it’s time for that change but I’ll wish lawwell all the best in his retirement or whatever he does going forward, what’s important is what the club do now going forward.

29 Jan 2021 15:43:20
How can you have been unhappy at how the club is run for a while. A quadruple treble has just been completed.
We are run as a business and have a great model.
Still in that time we have sold Armstrong, Demble Tierney and Frimpong for a good profit.
We have had one bad season that I would put down to C.V.

29 Jan 2021 15:29:12
Ripped the pish. Really BarryBoy? Have a look at the trophies won and the transformation of Celtic Park during his time in office.

29 Jan 2021 15:30:16
Lawell is like marmite for the fans. Opinions are like arseholes everybody has one. A great bit of financial business before he's gone is what he does best. His Unofficial Director of Football approach has had many fans angered for years. Now to get rid of the torys in the background. Ed do you reckon there will be more board members leaving? & will we go for a Director of Football?

{Ed007's Note - I don't think there will be sweeping changes at board level but I do think there will be a gradual change over the next year or so. I definitely think we're going to to go down the DOF route.}

@ old killy, as you said everyone's entitled to an opinion, and that's was my opinion but how was i over the top when he made it personal, I'm not going to stand by and let anyone question my loyalty or love for Celtic, it's the same on here every time someone posts something against the board and the board apologists accuse them of being from the darkside. I have definitely not been caught up with the 10 in a row quest, I would of loved us to of achieved it but for me it's how we have performed in Europe, we are such a huge club, well known all over the world and we should represent ourselves better, now I'm not saying we should be champions league winners but when compared to the likes of Ajax, Salzburg and Basel we are far behind and if we showed some ambition we could be at that standard.

{Ed007's Note - It's not very often that anyone is accused of being from the darkside - and when they are they usually are - so I don't know where you get that from. I don't see where anyone accused you of it either.}

29 Jan 2021 15:52:24
lawell ran the club brilliantly as a business sometimes he liked the profit more than strengthen the squad and kicking on. but you can not take away the success wee had in his time.

29 Jan 2021 16:14:40
Ambition is critical, successful times with PL yes, happy he is being replaced though as we have went flat, I hope the new appointment has the vision we desire, however the sane team that has dominated the domestic scene for 4 seasons is the same team that's relatively flopped in Europe, formation tinkering, player injury, bad tactics, as well as poor purchases has ultimately caused this, yet still domestic dominance, which for me was always a worry as if the SPL can't offer any real competition for our club then expecting to do well in Europe is nothing but a dream.
And this season has proven that the players aren't even good enough domestically at times let alone for European competition.

29 Jan 2021 16:20:38
Ed I seen one of the Celtic forums namecheck Collins for Dof. Would you be happy with that? 😂.

{Ed007's Note - I read an online article about it, he certainly puts forward a good case but it's a no from me.}

29 Jan 2021 16:30:10
I think your both Sevconians.

{Ed007's Note - 😂😂😂

29 Jan 2021 16:43:08
You were over the line when you called a fellow fan IDIOTIC for not agreeing with your opinion.

29 Jan 2021 16:57:09
No one can deny that Lawwell has been a massive success during his tenure with all the success on the park and transfer fee recieved etc but sadly that won't be legacy! His legacy will be the huge disappoinment of failing to achieve 10 in a row and being the man responsible for giving Neil Lonnon the gig in the showers. Changes for the better👍.

29 Jan 2021 17:22:11
@ Cmac, the quadruple treble I would put down to DD stepping in and appointing the rat. pl would've went for the cheap option.

Lack of ambition, happy to stride along dominating Scotland, but totally declining on the European stage.

Footballing department run by an accountant

Selling our best players and not replacing them with adequate quality, instead of buying 2 or 31st team quality we buy 5 or 6cheap players and hope that a couple will come good, always the cheaper option when buying player's

@ deep river bhoy great post 😂
@ Ed told you so 😂.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

29 Jan 2021 17:37:16
@ oldkilly, like I said you are the one that made it personal, I didn't take to kindly to you applying that I'm not a good supporter. I support my team from afar as I live in Germany, I pay the best part £300 for celtic tv and spend a couple hundred more on merchandise every year.

I don't mind you having a different opinion but don't make it personal.

29 Jan 2021 17:39:08
Bit harsh on Lawwell. He has brought success to the club by barrowload and loves the club.

29 Jan 2021 18:11:26
Not John Collins for DOF. He'll challenge everyone to a sit ups competition first.

{Ed007's Note - Have you read the article? Here it is HERE.

29 Jan 2021 19:08:10
Thanks Ed, good article and has given me food for thought. Great site and despite a few niggles from some, always has a knowledgeable slant to it.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate 👍

30 Jan 2021 01:14:37
I read the same Ed. As suitable as he may look on paper it's a no from me also. His personality I find quite smug and annoying, he comes across as a bit of a snake too and I the talking through his nose alone is enough to put me off.

{Ed007's Note - If he is so well qualified etc etc then why's he been sitting on his bum for the past nearly 5 years? You'd think he'd have had at least one decent offer in all that time.}
