The rumour at the start of the season was Lawwell was stepping down at the end of the season, no matter what.
It’s just a pity he’s not going out on a high after nearly 18 years in the job.
There is no doubt he’s a massive Celtic fan and I think that was the reason Peter took on too much responsibility, instead of trusting other people who were better qualified on the football matters.

The only investment I’ve had was 10 shares @ £60 back in 1994 along with thousands of other fans.
But I sold them in the summer of ‘97 for £3k to pay for a deposit for a house.
My dad still has his shares with his original shares card.
The cashier in the Celtic shop laughed when I used his card for discounts because she knew it was the original share card from ‘94.
I was only praising Ed. for always being a step ahead.
