Since it’s 3pm on a Saturday afternoon with no game.
Can you remember your first away game and your first trip to Hampden.
My first away game was Hibs 0 Celtic 3 in 1983.
I was only just turned 9 years old and we were in the Main stand.
I can remember Nicholas got a double and there were no fans across from the Main stand due to reconstruction.
My first trip to Hampden was the 1985 Scottish cup Semi final, Celtic 1 Motherwell 1.
Gary McAllister scored for Motherwell before Tommy Burns equalised.
Celtic won the replay and I was fortunate enough to be at the final to see Celtic lift the 100th Scottish Cup against Dundee Utd in a 2-1 victory.

First hampden game was also technically my first home game. We played Aberdeen and had the 3rd kit on even though we were at "home".

My first home game at celtic Park was a friendly against arsenal in 96 I think it was. Got my first season ticket the year after. First away game was against dundee United, don't remember much about it, think Paul elliot played and I got to go to mcdonalds before the game. Was only about 6 at the time.

When I was younger my dad and his friends would always stand in the middle of the Rangers end but I would spend all my time kicking cans with the other kids at the bottom of the terracing. Memories.

BB I stood on terracing at Celtic end next to the pylon.

Our bus moved round to the Celtic end about 1985/ 86.
I think the reason was Celtic sold the ground where we parked our buses to Irn Bru?
The new bigger roof was put on just in time.
The fans in the old Celtic end would get soaked when it rained due to the tiny roof.

BB great memories ‘can ye lift me over Mr’ but I couldn’t go back to that I’ve been spoiled too long now covered with a seat. I remember standing outside uncovered at away games like a drowned rat. I couldn’t do that now.

Oh a manager I like and respect how he plays football is the Brentford manager Thomas Frank. Think he has them playing great football and again well drilled team. 🍀.
