Wouldn't surprise me if this game is off. Story of our season.

I can’t see the game going ahead because the pitch seemed to still have snow on it at 12.37pm today.
I don’t think Livingston are trying all they can to make sure the game goes ahead.
They’ll be quite happy for their players to rest before they play their Semi Final this weekend.
Willie Collum will need to get a move on and inspect the pitch.
Maybe original referee Steven McLean would’ve given a decision by now.

The game will go ahead unless there is another blizzard in livi tonight as the game is being show on Sly.
Reports saying that they have used a snow clearing machine and the pitch is fine.

It could turn out to be a blessing that Steven McLean isn’t the referee tonight.
He’s recently postponed the Livingston V Aberdeen game twice.
In December he called the game off due to snow and then again in January due to a waterlogged pitch just before kickoff.
Hopefully Collum gives it the go ahead for his 3rd Livingston V Celtic game in a row.

Speaking to someone who is involved in laying Livingston’s type of pitch tells me that using snow clearing machines damages the surface and shouldn’t be used. As we struggle big time on these surfaces I hope this doesn’t cause us more problems.

I’m sure the criteria from the old SPL in the 90s was for the stadiums to be all seated and have undersoil heating.

IMHO plastic pitches (or whatever they are technically made from) should not be allowed in any top league in Europe.

I'd give clubs with 'plastic' in our league a reasonable timeframe and even some sort of financial support to put a proper pitch in place.

That would melt theirs though.

Pedro
Livingston had a grass pitch when they played in the Championship.
They only changed to plastic in 2018 after they got promoted to the Premiership.

Don’t know if any one else has noticed that the condition of a number of the hybrid pitches is poor? Seams to be worse than the old grass parks of old. Might be me remembering fondly.
