Somebody please put Lennon out of his misery.

Agree8 Disagree0

18 Jan 2021 15:25:45
he was right in calling them out on it.

18 Jan 2021 15:41:13
UI he’s picked up where Peter Lawells interview ended defending the indefensible somebody needs to take the spade off them the club made a roaring James Hunt of it irrespective of whether the media is delighted. We did it not the first minister not the Glasgow times a big boy didn’t do it and run away we did it to ourselves. A monumental act of self harm.

18 Jan 2021 15:59:24
so your fine with how we have been slaged of for it by the people who allowed us to go. allowing us to go then when we went slagged us of for it yet praised other clubs and the national team.

18 Jan 2021 16:09:46
Totally ui we shouldn't have went we all agree but the government can't have it both ways. they should show consistency it took them 3 days to sack her pal who was going to the holiday home and then the ferrier farce . consistency is what we want.

Celtic have a duty of care to all employees including Neil Lennon.
The pressure started to tell following his rant after our CL exit.
About 6 weeks later the Green Brigade hung a banner outside Celtic Park thanking Lenny for his services to our club but pleaded with him to please move on.
The last straw for the board should’ve been our defeat to Ross County, when the Celtic supporters turned on Neil Lennon and demanded that he be replaced before it was too late.
It looks like it was Dermot Desmond who ignored the fans and now Neil Lennon will be the manager who failed to win Celtic 10 in a row.
It was quite sad to see Lenny try and defend the indefensible today.
Previously Lennon has been good at fighting our corner but today shouldn’t have been one of them.
I think the board should put Neil and the fans out of our misery and announce a change ASAP.
Especially for the welfare of Neil and his family.

18 Jan 2021 16:24:27
This looks like a man close to implosion
DD/ PL should step in here and give him a break
The media circus is only going to get worse as one more tested positive and Celtic look all over the place
This looks like uncontrolled rhetoric- everyone else’s fault we did everything right etc but not what was needed now-where is the PR department.
Stop this now before it gets worse.

18 Jan 2021 16:42:20
BB 100% take a bow it’s worse seeing the wee man trying to defend the clubs actions he’s all over the place God love him.

Mally you’re right there has been inconsistencies.

UI no I’m not happy or enjoying seeing the club or Neil hounded by the press he’s been hounded since day one of his arrival in this country to our shame and has had no bigger defender than me. I went to a debate In Edinburgh University when he was getting bullets through the post and attacked at Tynecastle (not proven despite been witnessed by 25,000) which concluded what we all know that Scotland has a problem with institutionalised anti-Catholicism and anti-Irishness. I would never take him down and detest the character assassination that seems to be acceptable including among some of our own.

So the media reaction is hardly an unexpected surprise. They don’t like that’s hardly . But to be honest I don’t really care what they think of my club my team or my Faith. They don’t matter to me one iota.

But NL and PL just can’t defend the indefensible and retain their credibility.

18 Jan 2021 16:42:20
Agree Buzz and The one and only, this is a painful sequence of events for anyone.

This whole situation seems to be coming to a head and I hope it does before any further damage is done to NL or our Club.

18 Jan 2021 16:53:12
This is a bit like those tennis players, who fly into Melbourne and are miffed because they now have to quarantine, we wouldn't have come, if we'd known, they moan, . Who doesn't know that we are in the middle of a C.V., that means it's worldwide, just because the government, this inept government, said it was ok to go, doesn't mean it was ok to go, the club should have had a duty of care towards its
players and employees, like it's been said there is no point trying to defend the indefensible.

18 Jan 2021 16:54:48
If NL and the players weren't sat in the house we could have picked up 6 points instead of 2.Yes Dubai was a major mistake but the hysteria has been OTT. Lennon is correct in calling out the hypocrites regarding social distancing as in, It was ok for the Scotland team as we qualified for a tournament for the first time in many a year. Wee krankie slipped up alongside a few other mps and the orc player who socially distracted on his own yet he was in and around their full squad for the Benfica game as a substitute. Were was the criticism or reporting of orc players not isolating with him who he had been in contact with. Why wasnt this matter all over the media?

18 Jan 2021 17:36:14
I haven't been on for a few days as my own mental health issues are particularly fragile these days. However, I must contribute to this thread, as the pressures on NL are clearly unbearable.
The arguments have raged on for ten days (and four more points dropped) , regarding the Dubai trip and consequences thereafter.
Everyone and their dug has had their say and the majority have not missed the opportunity to publicly crucify the club we love.
The 'much hated' media, bitter pundits and our own Govt have declared 'Open Season' since the Bolingoli farce, as Celtic went from bad to worse - to 'Christ it CAN get feckin worse'!
We have all had our say about the manager, players, lack of fitness, formations etc etc and have suffered through all of this, hoping for some respite and a reversal of fortunes. Entrusting any solutions to the 'intelligent' men who run the club, to sort it.
Unfortunately and incredibly, every decision that they have made this season (on and off the pitch) have been the wrong ones.

After some Dubai-dust settled on the ill-fated training camp, the Chief Executive was obliged to make an apology - in hindsight - and now we see the manager re-opening the debate and completely at the end of his tether; and whether you say he's right or wrong, he should have been removed from the firing line some time ago; when the season could, possibly have been salvaged; Who's can say?
Whether you love or dislike NL, his actions, comments and even his mistakes - he does not deserve for his health to breakdown.
Alarm bells have been ringing since the CL defeat; the writing was on the wall after floundering in the EL; There were fans pleading for change as the points gap grew wider and wider; but the people that should have acted promptly and maybe even have foreseen some of the issues that have crippled us this season have all been deaf, dumb and blind to the truth - and that's unforgiveable.
One thing following Celtic has taught me, is that when we are down - and this season has been one of the lowest points ever for many - when we do get back on track, it will be all the sweeter.
Stay Safe guys.

You can’t defend the indefensible
Regardless of what people’s opinion is NL rant does not help
This will be seen as not wanted and entitled by most people.

18 Jan 2021 17:52:56
There was a moral decision to be made regarding the Dubai trip, the fact the government agreed to it or not, the club should’ve acknowledged the situation we’re all in at that time, seen what was coming and made the sensible decision not to go. As garbage as an apology as it was ( and it was one of the worst seen by the club) lawwell had admitted it was the wrong call, so for lennon to come out today and dig his heels on it smacks of sheer desperation.

18 Jan 2021 17:59:05
OAB you take care and look after your own mental health. If you need an ear I’m sure Ed 007 would give you my email address. I’ll add you to my prayer list. God Bless! ☘️.

18 Jan 2021 18:11:04
forget about everything else my sole point is they deserved to be called out they have treated our club differently from every one else regarding cv praising teams and clubs for breaking rules yet slag us off and call us out for something they agreed to. and i say well done to him for it results and everything else a side he called them out today and it was well deserved.

18 Jan 2021 18:35:20
Thank you JFP; I appreciate that very much mate.

18 Jan 2021 18:39:58
Sevco got praised for the 2 players out on the Bevvy. aberdeen got a rocket what s the difference. we rightly got hammered for boli 2 game suspension why not the same punishment for sevco.

18 Jan 2021 18:56:53
UI the comments regarding segregation on plane and bus are just wrong, the rant does not help regardless of weather they deserved it. calling out the government it is just wrong and does not give the impression of a club with a social conscience
We are in the middle of the worst C.V. in living memory and the manager of Celtic is questioning the need for segregation? It’s not logical or measured.
Don’t get me wrong but the other positive doesn’t help either IF this has been transmitted in the plane or bus which implies the C.V. was airborne, very easily could have been a number of positives then where would the club be
Sometimes it’s better just to say sorry and leave it like that.

{Ed007's Note - Say sorry to who and for what?}

18 Jan 2021 18:58:57
I can see your point UI but he should have worded it differently he had one good point in the Scotland squad and just left it there IMO just like a lot that is happening with Celtic just now there is a lot of ill advised decisions and statements I just wish and hope that the club get it's act together soon.

18 Jan 2021 19:05:40
