Chris Sutton's thoughts for anybody going along to the protest tomorrow if you're interested.

'I was fortunate to be part of a Celtic side that had tremendous backing all over the world. We had memorable European runs where the fans got rave reviews as well as the team.

The supporters came back from Seville with an award for their behaviour, and it was the same when we went to America or Australia.

Celtic supporters were renowned for being among the best in the world.

But now? How do this section of the support think their behaviour in the last few weeks is being viewed around the world?

I'll tell them. It's embarrassing.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the Shoot the Board stuff the other day. I had to Google it to make sure it wasn't a fake picture.

When you add in the violent protests after Ross County, the bus chasing in the wake of St Johnstone, and now a protest even before a match kicks off, it just makes these fans look moronic.

Look, I don't have a problem with them being vocal or being critical. We've all been critical of Celtic this season - and rightly so.

It's fine to take issue with the manager and to question the board. But none of those guys deserve the level of abuse that's been dished out.

You can wonder if Neil Lennon should still be in the job, but he shouldn't be worried about what he's going to face in the car park.

Say what you like about Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond and I've taken issue with them myself but they have also presided over a period of unprecedented success at Celtic.

They've won 15 titles in 20 years. They have made mistakes - of course they have - but not enough to warrant the nonsense this past few weeks.

They have come out and backed Lennon. A lot of people might disagree, and I admit I'm surprised he's still in a job, but you have to admire them in a way for not succumbing to mob rule.

Well said Chris.

Whether it's the right decision or not, we'll find out over the next six games.

Personally I'm getting sick of guys like Chris Sutton thinking they can tell Celtic supporters how they should or shouldn't feel. Mentioning "mob rule" is an absolute embarrassment as well. A few people throwing a bit of fence and an over the top banner doesn't amount to mob rule, especially when the number of peaceful protestors far outweighed the idiots.

15 titles in 20 years. 11 out of the last 12 trophies. On the verge of a quadruple treble. There are many who have matched to celebrate their victory at the Boyne 10 times since they last celebrated a league title victory. And some of our own think its a good time for a protest. Aye did ye aye. ☘️.

a European cup final a invincible treble season and beating a lot of the biggest clubs in the world in that period aswell. protest tommorow is stupid were coming of the back of a good win that has brought a lot of positives and showed we have real good talent there that can help this team go on a run now and turn a corner. we should be feeling good about tommorow and backing the team now.

we will turn this season around if soro and turnbull get a run in the team and we stick with the formation we played on Thursday. thursday showed we have players there who are going to fight and are a talent. its up to lenny to pick them now. and its up to us to back the team. they board have gave him to January so get behind him till then.

Horsed out of Europe by Braga, Utrecht, Sion, Legia Warsaw, Maribor, Malmö, AEK Athens, Cluj all clubs with inferior resources than Celtic have, all in the last decade, horsed 8-2 by Sparta reserves, unparalleled success my bahookey. #lawwellout #lennonout.

paythefacepainter. can't win them all every big club in the world has suffered defeats from smaller clubs in there time. all they good times in the last 20 far far far outweigh those negatives you just says.

Get Sutton to fk backs his mate and plays up to the crowd. He earned his money playing for us but spends the rest of his time making money off of us.

{Ed007's Note - I also wonder if the likes of Sutton have ever threw their hat in the ring to get on the coaching staff? Imagine, Neil Lennon, Sutton and Keane (Peace be upon him) in the dugout 😁

12 Dec 2020 20:53:46
Ed I could see Keane have a right go off Sutton.

I think the fans have a right to protest and the way the club is being run right now of course they have, but I don't beleive in violence and the stupid messages. But one good win doesn't turn the season around and neither should it. The fans deserve to be heard.

Here's a thought. Was I the only Guy sitting on the plane from Seville back to Glasgow. via wherever. thinking we now need to invest and kick on. And did we? No we did NOT. We went backwards. but, but, but, we should have and, while I accept we would not have been one of the European greats we would certainly have been well above where we are now. And don't give this rubbish about but look at them. Has Pistol Pete done a job. Aye OK at a quarter the money maybe. but he has played Fifa 2020 or whatever you guys who play call it for 6 or 7 years. A reasonably competent Ceo would have done the same job for about a sixth of the money. It's completely embarrassing and a total lack of corporate governance. But hey "We are Celtic supporters" and we are, no doubt. But you know what, we got rid of the Kelly's and the Whyte's / White's and we will do the same with you. NL. Your time is up, Pistol Pete the same and DD give your control over to your boy or go. It's not good enough to boast to the "Good old Irish Boys" how you own Celtic, actually 31% or so, just give it back to the people who matter. Because We are the CLUB. WE are CELTIC. Not you or any of you. It is a legacy WE will pass down. And you have now relinquished any rights to. And on that note a happy as can be Christmas to one and all and a peaceful, and more importantly, healthy New Year to everyone. Best Foxi.

JFP are you saying because we have won titles in the past we should just accept this? It's like saying John Barnes shouldn't have got the sack because in 67 we won the European Cup? If Sevco stop 10 in a row ( which they will) then all the previous success will be quickly forgotten and count for nothing.
