Ed007, I know all posters value your opinion.
I would like to hear your view on the way forward.
I am not against Neil Lennon and would have loved it if he had delivered 10iar. Alas, that probably won't be the case now as I think he has run out of lives.
How do we go about getting the season back on track?
Do we get as some have mentioned, a safe pair of hands to come in for the remainder of the season, hopefully to get us back on track and then get a new manager for next season,
Or do we bite the bullet now and get someone in to see out the season whether we win the league or not, clear out the players who don't want to be here and start rebuilding the squad.
Surely we have to get someone who will gain instant respect from the players (who have been dreadful so far this season) , is good tactically, gets players fit etc etc.
Whoever is responsible for recruitment of players, whether that be Lennon, Hammond, Lawwell or all three have failed miserably this season.
Goalkeeper, not convinced so far, but may come good.
We don't have one decent defender regardless of what permutation you put them in.
Brown looks like he can't hack it anymore, MacGregor has even gone backwards and then rest are not great either. Was hoping to see what Soro and Turnbull could do, but got to assume they are not up to much if they can't get a game in front of those currently playing.
Ajeti, can't play up front on own.
Klimala, "needs to fit into our system" rather than us changing to suit him, why was he bought if that was the case. We need players that can hit the ground running.
As per previous posts I would still hope for Rafa or someone of that stature, but have to be honest and say it probably won't happen.
So my question is do we go for a Rafa type, an Eddie Howe, a Sean Dyche type or do we go for an untried manager like the Rangers with a DOF.
If the bottom one was your way forward, who would you choose?
I kind of thought of WGS with Darren Fletcher.
But Rafa still my first choice.
Whoever it is, Lawwell needs to stop interfering.
Sorry for the long post mate.

{Ed007's Note - First thing's first with getting the season back on track is pretty simple, if certain players aren't going to give 100% and want to act like spoilt brats then we should treat the like spoilt brats and make them sit in the stands or just stay at home. I lay no blame for the Ross County defeat at the Neil Lennon's feet - that one's definitely down to the players. Brown's taking pelters but at least he's still out there giving it his all which is more than can be said for the likes of McGregor and Edouard - what's going on with LG and why persist with Rogic who has done his usual of 1 or 2 good games then he become Mr Invisible for weeks.
You say we need someone the players' respect well they respected Lennon enough over the previous 18 months so what happened to change that? Where's their respect for the Club and the fans, where's there's self respect as professional sportsmen?
I completely disagree that the recruitment has failed miserably, players have come in to what appears to be a fractured dressing room.
With Barkas I'm putting faith in Stevie Woods who scouted him for a year and both him and Hammond were very vocal about his ability, remember he is in a new country/culture and is still settling in and learning the language plus he hasn't had the chance to play with a settled defence in front of him. Ajeti has 5 league goals in 10 games and Duffy is being weighed down by his personal troubles and the pressure of being an Irish Celtic player isn't helping him. Elyounoussi has 10 goals and 5 assists in 21 games which are similar if not better stats than Forrest generally.
Elyounoussi in a Celtic team playing with confidence and they way we know they can would shine out as would Ajeti who is probably the second best out & out poacher we've got after LG when he is fit.
If we get rid of Lennon in the coming weeks it'll be either MON/Keane or Strachan who will replace him as the massive shadow of 10IAR is putting people off the job right now.
Going forward - whether we win the league or not this season - the Club needs to replace Lawwell in the summer and bring in a DOF and a new coaching team, that will be the ideal time to see the calibre of candidates and applicants.
You say that it doesn't look like Lennon can win the league, I totally disagree mate considering we've only played 13 games and if Lennon guts the dressing room and picks players who will give 100% and show some passion then there's no reason we can't get our season back on track. That and hard work on defending set-pieces which would be a BIG help.
Get LG fit and partnering Ajeti until Edouard gets fit and gives himself a shake, get Turnbull in the team, give Soro, Luca Connel, Walsh, Ewan Henderson, Oko-Flex and even Dembele a chance to show what they can do and force the slackers to up their game if they want to play. I'd even have Ralston start over Frimpong who must take some of the blame for Duffy's situation after leaving him exposed on numerous occasions when he is caught out too far up the pitch leaving Duffy to cover his own position and RB which he'll never have the pace to do.}

A Celtic site summed this season up in 5 words.
“The Players Have Deserted Us”.

{Ed007's Note - I'm putting a lot of the blame on the players, Leon, regardless of who the manager is there's no excuses for a lot of their individual performances.}

Would love Rangnick to be the one that takes over. If he likes a project then let him have full control of everything and put in better scouting, coaching methods, transfers even if it means punting Hammond. If all the wantaways are sold in the summer then let him have the majority of the funds to rebuild the team.

Completely agree with everything youve said Ed would even bring Taylor back into the team as Laxalt leaves us just as exposed as Frimpong does.

{Ed007's Note - The main problem most fans had with Taylor was that he wasn't KT but he's never a WB. Defensively he was solid enough and will improve the more he plays imo, for me defenders need to defend first and Taylor didn't do too much wrong in that department.}

Great post ed I've criticised the new bhoys but maybe they need more time and we are all panicking a bit. think young Welsh needs games a a bit if faith instead of in now and again and Connell and soro with turnbull it could be a turning point if we show faith in these guys.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

The only way we will keep Karamoko is by signing his brother and playing the two of them in a few matches.

If wee dembele was as good as we all thought he would be by now then he would be a regular starter. Unfortunately I don’t think he’s good enough to compensate for his size, I really hope I’m wrong cos I’ve been looking forward to seeing him tear defences apart.

Fed up listening to it isn't lennons fault. If he is still playing players who's heart isn't in it then it's his fault more than anyone else

Barkas may have been scouted for a year but it wasn't by stevie woods as he is out goalkeeping coach and not a scout so he may be able to improve him over time but he isn't s miracle worker.

Kind of wish we hadn't loaned out Robertson as he looked like he could've contributed to the team this season.
