Lennon suggesting that Scott Bain may be our Number 1?
Is this an acceptance then of us wasting money in the summer on a £5m goalie as a panic since we couldn't lure forster back?

Why is it wasting money. Up to before he got injuried he was first choice keeper. Plus Lennon has said Bain attitude has changed and he has become more a better keeper as a result. Most people were calling for a new keeper to come in after foster turn us down.

We didn't spend that sort of money for a second choice goal keeper and also try and sign forster for no reason. Bain clearly wasnt seen as good enough at start of season so what has changed now.

Bain, hand-on-heart is really nothing but a back-up and if he is now our first choice, that is yet another worry to add to the list.
It took three attempts to replace KT with a similar standard and I think we will have to look at the 'keeper situation again in the January Window if £5m Barkas has already lost his place?
Also, to state the blatantly obvious - now that we are finding a bit of form going forward, the injury to Ajer has come at the worst possible time, as we really should 'rest' Duffy as he is costing us goals every game. However, we can't leave him out on Sunday's Semi-Final unless fitness issues over Bitton and El Hamed are resolved.

I think you're right Royjac. Sure Athens wanted £5m but the final fee was something like £2.7m with add ons.

The fee is immaterial he's here but big marshal for nothing was the move and we missed the boat and cost us money for nothing. saying that the boy needs time to settle up till now av not fancied him and would have bain.

I always thought Bain was better than he was ever given credit for. If I were him I'd be well pished off but I guess that's the difference between a professional player and a passionate fan. HH.

Lennon has said that Bain attitude has changed big time. This might not push barkas and then we can have 2 decent keepers.

Before last night Bain had only saved one penalty from the previous 21 penalties he had faced.

He should have done better for the first goal but saying that he had a good few saves. Give Barkas time to settle into the team. The usual boo boys want rid of players that make a few mistakes.

Think Barkas will settle in and prove himself to be one of the best goalies we have ever had, Bain is ok, but he was very lucky against Lille, if that flaffed attempt when the ball bounced of his chest after he had left his goal, could have resulted in a goal, and he would have been slaughtered on these pages, but he got lucky.
