Brother Bob at it again Motherwell very unlucky to concede 2 pens and dear Bob denies well a stonewaller . He's now set the precedent for handballs we watch with interest.

Agree2 Disagree0

Not defending Madden but the law concerning hand balls did change and it does not matter if its deliberate.

The new rule states that it is not a penalty if the ball touches a player's hand/ arm close to their body and has not made their silhouette unnaturally bigger.

The first penalty you could argue either way as his arm was slightly away from his body. However, the second one was not a penalty in my opinion as his hand and arm were close to his body and not making his silhouette unnaturally bigger but in fact making it smaller. The only doubt was his hand was at chest height and the ref may have considered it above the shoulder, which would make it a penalty.

They tamper and tinker with the rules nearly every season and then referees become even more inconsistent because of 'interpretations' of these incidents and just to frustrate and hamper even more - VAR! It's bad enough arsing about with offside in millimetres, but it was always 'HANDBALL' meaning a player moving his hand deliberately to stop or alter the direction of the ball; not having to defend, arms handcuffed behind your back or a ball ricocheting from point blank?
Anyway it's all immaterial when referees are prone to honest mistakes.

How can different competitions have different rules baffles me. Surely fifa set the rules and these as standard for all professional games. With the exception of var.

Agree it's the law but how do you defend or jump without moving your arms. they 2 yesterday were whacked at pace with a sevco player touch tight how do you get out the road. the ref has got to use common sense. but al watch with interest the next time he's reffing especially against the klan.

Brother Bobby has been referee in 6 games since the return from lockdown and yesterday was the first and second penalties he has awarded this season.
He has only gave out one red card and that also went in Sevco’s favour when he sent off an Aberdeen player on the opening day of the season.

Nick Walsh will be our referee on Sunday away to St. Johnstone.
I thought he would’ve got his first Glasgow derby on October 17th.
But I can’t see him being awarded 2 consecutive league games involving Celtic.

On the aberdeen game it was a ridiculous challenge by considine and a clear red. Yesterday we would have been screaming for a penalty on both decisions although the second one was quite like the one against Livi last weekend that we didn't get. The rules don't help but certainly the first one you can't really argue with and the game was done by the second. If we turn up we win regardless of ref decisions.

The first one we are arguing with, that is the whole point.
Fifer you never mentioned if Motherwell should have got a penalty for the push.
If your answer is yes then you agree that Madden got 2 out of 3 decisions wrong in Sevco’s favour?

First rangers one was prob correct I did think the well one was a pen and was shouting f sake madden on second one. Imo the refs in Scotland are just not good enough rather than it being a full on conspiracy. Have seen us getting some dubious decisions but also plenty that have gone against us. I guess the fact that Madden is probably one of the better refs doesn't help things.

I agree Fifer.
I do think Madden is the best of a bad bunch and I think Nick Walsh will make a good ref.
I’m beginning to think Wullie Collum will get the Glasgow Derby which will turn the game into a lottery.
