Perhaps. are we getting carried away with Toney or does Strachan give us a better insight ie . he can see the current squad and talent. is he saying that Toney would enhance what we have .
No doubt that would give NL and pistol Pete some added reassurance
I don't think we have ever bought a 3rd tier English player for a material sum. of money.

Sorry my mistake on Hooper, they were in the Championship and it was 2010.

I can't see us signing Toney, Peterborough have been too public about negotiations and Lawwell won't like that. Also I'm beginning to think Peterborough are exploiting our alleged interest in Toney to incite a bidding war.
I reckon we will sign someone who has not been mentioned.

Said it from day one that Toney wouldn’t be coming! He’ll go to a championship club. all this garbage from their chairman is to get a few more quid out the lad!
