Ed

Back on site after a 3 year absence but check in all the time to see where the usual contributors and you are saying. BIG season ahead. Anyways, I was watching the last 2 celtic rangers matches ( lost 1 and somehow won 1 ( the forster final) . Do you think they have the Indian sign over us at the moment, ie who fears who and are we READY for them over a 90 minute tussle. In your honest opinion do you think JOB DONE of we can take care of the rest of the SPFL and hope they mess up or switch off? I'd be keen to hear your views on how you think we will win this league and how the head to heads will go. Still think we are a bit soft in the middle and soft at CB, great talent in there but worry about when we are in the heat of battle.

{Ed007's Note - Neil Lennon got his tactics wrong in the LC Final and didn't learn his lesson for the next game. I think Lennon will play 3-5-2 or even 4-5-1 against TRIFC so that we aren't getting overran in the midfield again, that should be more than enough for us to dominate as we have better players in every position and on the bench.
I expect us to win the league by a minimum of 9 points (probably 10+) but I really have no idea how the derbies will go, we'll probably get 3 wins and draw.}

Great confidence, so basically you think we played on to their hands and forgot to win the battle prior to playing our stuff, giving them the impetus? Mentality will be key because I genuinely think that we have something to prove after 180 minutes of being out smarted. Thanks for the opinion and I'm a little more relaxed now that you've suggested it was tactics and not an inferiority complex, stage fright or them being better in the big headline games. Clearly if they get consistency elsewhere we will have our work cut out BUT hopefully our quality and strength and depth will shine through. Big test versus Killie on Sunday and not a game for the faint hearted. Thanks Ed.

{Ed007's Note - We were playing 2 men against their 3 in the middle of the park and that's why we were overran, if we tweak that against them we'll be fine.}

What 3 Ed? . brown callum and Christie?

A team for TRFC away could be

3 5 1 1

Barkas
Ajer
Jullien
Elhamed
Forrest RWB
Christie LWB
Brown
McGregor
Ntcham
Elyounussi in a 10 role ( free and roaming )
Eddy up top

Just a thought.

{Ed007's Note - Have you got a brother named Rich by any chance? 😋 I'd play Elhamed at RWB if he's fit and Taylor or even any new LB on the left if we can offload Bolingoli - although I'd have no problem with Taylor there if he keeps showing up for his shift like he has been. Forrest goes missing in the derbies so I'd rather have more defensive players on the flanks.
I'd start with Brown, McGregor and Christie in the middle over Ntcham as those 3 are more physical and aggressive to win the battle, letting Ntcham come on later in the game when legs are tired and his runs & eye for a pass should cause problems. I like the idea of Elyounoussi playing the free role just off Edouard 👍
Remember too with the new 5 out of 9 subs no matter what game we're playing we're going to have some bench to change things. With the depth of squad we've got and with more additions to come that new rule will really help us to continue to dominate Scotland imo and not just with the first team players but it will help us give youngsters more game time as well.}

I had forest as a sub and elhamed at RWB and Bitton in a back 3 . so we weren't far away

Worry sometimes about our size hence taylor out for Christie at LWB but take your point about needing energy in the middle and ntcham as an impact sub

My brother? Yes i have one. He goes by many names if althe Ghirls are asking but Rich isn't one of them!

TRFC have improved, and they're physical. and they are not scared of us . we now have to THINK about set up and subs and formations and sub plots all over the park . we need to be careful this year

We should make you the manager for the Glasgow derbies!

{Ed007's Note - Me and my assistant manager Welshy would get lifted before the Huddle for letting off pyro from the tunnel.}

I smell 💩💩 Win the last 11 trophies out of 11 and we have an inferiority complex 🤣🤣 The most bizarre comment of the week.

Christie at left wing back! Just naw! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣🤣.

Stevie

Wrong term perhaps

The FACT is that there last 2 performances will have an impact on our players . I'm saying that they won't fear us . not sure about our collective view of them.

Inferiority complex is the wrong term but I know what I mean. we used to thump them. play around with them. tease them . and take the p@@@. we aren't in that situation now

Equally, with modification to set up we could go out and trounce them but if you think it'll be easy based on recent evidence o think you're being a bit complacent to be honest.

Browns the reason we were outplayed in both games, .

04 Aug 2020 22:16:15
Interesting Aindoh . and yet we would never go in to a TRFC match without him . you think his card is marked and they know how to neutralise his influence and impact on the game?

I think, as per Ed, we need to plan for TRFC head to heads a little better this year and maybe even pit them off the scent with different game plans for different phases of the game.

I think the more pressing thing at the minute is the frailty in the centre of defence, the Hamilton guys won too many headers, that they shouldn't have, I think Ajers best position is at right back, El hamedi is a better right back, and he might be a better centre back than Ajer as well, ideally I would try to get in an experienced, talented, mobile, young centre back to try to stabilise the centre of defence, because if not, we have to hope that Barkas is a really good goalie.

04 Aug 2020 23:28:30
Christie always on right when in middle I think hh.

05 Aug 2020 00:08:44
I think broony is on his last legs and we lack the pace in midfield with him sitting deep I would play with ajer in midfield holding and cal Mac and Christie in front as ajer can make those bursting runs from deep that breaks the lines and with moi eddy and dembele Forrest Johnston on the wings we would ruin them even if we played with Connell or mcinroy deep and pushed Christie forward that's not even including ntcham and klimalla we should have far too much for this rangers side they are bang average without Alfie roofe is a poor replacement.

05 Aug 2020 00:41:13
I doubt they would have zero impact on our players confidence we've won the last 9 leagues and 11 trophies they are the ones in the last saloon the pressure is on them and the pish they're signing isn't making them any stronger. We just need some more depth as my worry is another injury plagued season like last. With games coming thick and fast and the layoff they've had and. with plastic pitches just hope we don't have players pulling up.

Bravetart the boy roofe is a player if he can stay injury free. Definitely better than they have got.
