Hi Ed, wondering what your thoughts were on David Turnbull? We're a year on from almost signing the lad, do you think we'll go back for him and could he be Brown's future replacement?
{Ed007's Note - Unless Ntcham leaves this window it could be January or even next summer before we bring Turnbull in.
We've already got Brown's replacement in McGregor imo - we need someone with a better eye for a pass to play the deep-lying playmaker role and control the tempo/speed of the team - and I've been saying for the past couple of years that it should be McGregor that does that job and not Brown.}

Is that not taking a big part of McGregors game away?

No I do agree with that ed, I just think he looks to enjoy a bit more freedom in his attacking play he has been outstanding since moving to 3 5 2.
{Ed007's Note - It's McGregor's eye for a pass and his passing range that makes me thing he would be ideal in there. I'd have McGregor doing the deep-lying playmaker role, Christie as the box-to-box midfielder and Ntcham (or A.N. Other) as a the forward playing CM/CAM.
Brown is good at covering the defence in the DM role but that position/role is fading out imo and let's be honest about it, in Scotland do we really need someone sitting in front of the defence who offers very little in the attacking phases of the game - especially if we are playing 3 at the back with Ajer in there?}

We also have Ismaila Soro to come in yet, who knows how good he might be? , David Turnbull is not a priority signing at the moment, we need 2 keepers, a centre half and a quality left back signed as soon as possible .

drewzy I'm keen to see Soro play as from what I've seen on YouTube, looks the part. A solid ball winning CM who controls midfield.

Brown brings a lot to the table but definitely needs to be used sparingly this season a lot of his passes play guys into trouble. Do you think he could do a job a cb similar to Biton. a lot of the time he's as deep as the cb.

Hi Ed, thanks for your response. I agree that McGregor has really grown as a player and is crucial to our midfield. Personally, I get the feeling that Ntcham will be away sooner rather than later and, if fit, I'd take Turnbull in a heartbeat.

I'd probably rather have Christie as the CAM as he's better outside the box for goals. Ntcham isn't too strong with his back to goal wants far too much time on the ball and his shots are usually into row Z.
