I really think we are going to have one hell of a team if not next season then the season after. I mean half a dozen of those guys playing in the reserves today could become first team regulars and don't forget there are 3 or 4 crackers out on loan and oko flex I don't think can even get a game right now. I know young players that are hyped can often fall by the wayside but I am hopefull off an explosion of talent breaking through like the quality street gang. Oh just thinking that I don't even think Robertson that played against Cluj was playing today and that's another I was really impressed with. Ed taking out the obvious one in Dembele, out of all the young talent coming through what 3 in your opinion (or more if you think so) are most likely to challenge for a first team place in the next couple of seasons. I value your opinion. Cheers.

{Ed007's Note - I really don't know enough about our young players these days if I'm honest mate and there's no guarantees that any of them will make it at Celtic, look at Islam Feruz & Calvin Miller that everyone raved about and then the likes of CalMac that was written off as not good enough for years.
It's really difficult for youngsters to make the breakthrough at Celtic these days as fans demand a big money signing in every position and the minute you misplace a pass or make a mistake you're labelled a dud.}

I have a wee laugh when I hear lennon talking up McGregor ed. He was punting him if he had stayed on. McGregor is another one that owes ronny a big debt.

{Ed007's Note - Shhhhh! Ffs, Kev you should know by now that you're not allowed to say anything against Lennon or even worse praise anything Deila done.}

25 Feb 2020 09:52:24
Ffs forgot about that ed.

But I've started so I will finish.
I can remember lennon being questioned on him while he was doing well at notts county. Lennon said hed probably need to leave to get the football he wants.

Loaning McGregor out in the first place was clearly good for his development so a good move by Lennon you could argue. also it would be a lot easier for our young players to break into deilas team because we were rotten simple as that. its been said by you plenty of times kev that players that don't play for us just now seem to be seem to be better players in some fans eyes when they don't play. its the same with deila all of a sudden he seems to be s better manager all of a sudden when he's not here.

25 Feb 2020 13:34:03
Ronnys problem was his lack of experience at a big club player or manager. He didn't know how to handle certain players. Players like commons and mulgrew made his job more difficult by refusing to do what he asked with regards to nutrition (probably why rodgers got rid straight away) . Tactically he seemed okay and the structure he wanted to instill in the club similar to that of rodgers. I think his time with us came too early for him. But there where certainly positives, tierney and McGregor being 2 off them and he did get the best out of griffiths.

25 Feb 2020 14:14:47
Liam most of Lennon's players were still there when McGregor broke into the team so I don't see how it would have been easier.

25 Feb 2020 15:28:28
Kev there was plenty on here didn't fancy Callum then . like wise Forrest so that's just football young players need time. some make it some don't.

25 Feb 2020 16:18:48
kev because lennon would have these same players fitter and playing better football that's why. all this nutrition stuff that everyone talks about with deila is utter nonsense his team was one of the unfittest teams i can remember.

25 Feb 2020 06:37:27
Thanks Ed. That is very true. My problem is I get over excited by home grown young players. It is amazing seeing one of your own make it. But all good points and of course there is guys like Robertson at liverpool to back up what your saying. Hopefully a couple from this crop will do something. Cheers!

{Ed007's Note - 👍

25 Feb 2020 17:29:04
Neil lennon would have had they players fitter? Are you actually being serious? Lennon's team was no where near as fit as Ronnie's and even players like brown and VVD have said he made them fitter. Man some nonsense spouted on this page these days.

25 Feb 2020 17:49:27
kev its you who's spouting it on numerous occasions brown has spoken about how fitter the team was when deila left we were dying on our feet at the end of games.

25 Feb 2020 20:50:03
Deila was a poor manager who couldn't get the best out of the players . because he was into sports science doesn't make him a good manager he's not exactly been working at the higher echelons of the game since he left. but he was a good guy.

27 Feb 2020 13:28:34
He didn't get the money to buy the quality other managers have had. Likes of Kazim-Richards, Cole, Wakaso, Tonev, Scepovic and Blackett are hardly going to light up a game. He lost the dressing room too as a few senior players undermined him. Probably the main reason I can't stand the sight of Commons as a pundit.
