I missed the game yesterday due to the wife taking ill.
I only found out it was 2-1 to Sevco with 20 minutes to go. Reports suggest I didn’t miss much.

In the January window, I would bring in Wanyama, the Bratislava forward, Meling from Rosenborg ( who has exactly one year left on his contract) and I would enquire about Patrick Roberts on loan. Roberts is currently with Norwich and can’t get a game. I know he has only played about 20 games since leaving Celtic but he is still only 22 years old and he has still got his pace, which terrorised Scottish football before. Sinclair and Elyounoussi were not playing well before they came to Celtic and then they rejuvenated their careers.

Meling is also only 25 years old and we could get him for peanuts. Although we have already bought 2 left backs to replace KT, the fact is the left full back is our weakest position and if Celtic want to strengthen, we need to start with Meling.
Those 4 players will help kickstart our quest for another title and hopefully a quadruple treble.

We have about six or seven players at present who can play full back, although Frimpong and Taylor may be ones for the future, I would say Bolingoli is definitely not up for the job, while loanee Bauer does not seem to have the managers confidence; then there's El Hamer - probably the best of the bunch, who has been out injured for months.
You could also include Hayes and Miller/ Hendry as excess cover?
and although Melling would be a great signing, I can't see it with so many candidates already on the books?
We really need to offload 5 or 6 players IMO, to make space and free-up funds to bring in quality in the key positions we crave.

Meling is a great shout and we should’ve got him in the summer.

Yesterday was the 1 game in particular that John Mcginn would have thrived on, many rangers fans i speak to all say they are so glad Celtic didn't get him. Our midfield is good but id say he is a better player than anyone we have and its a scandal that we didn't give hibernian £3.5 million, when we spend almost as much on eboue who is one of the worst players I've ever seen.

{Ed007's Note - Who out of Brown and McGregor would you - or more importantly
the manager - have dropped for McGinn?}

I think the squad of players we already have should have been good enough yesterday.
The problem arose in where on the pitch Lennon decided to play them.

people want wanyama but is he match fit as in my mind we don't have time to get who ever we buy fit, we need the guys with a good few games under their belts this season, plus they have to be a bit more physical and strong willed because no matter where their played unless they can match the other lot in both departments they will lose.

The only way to take a penalty is to put the welly through it. Remember Tam Gemmell's penalties? If the keeper saves it it he ends up in the net with the ball - so a goal every time. If the keeper parries it he breaks his fingers, if he headers it, decaptiated - if it hits his front erchie.
Happy New Year to you all when it comes.

If Wanyama is half as good a player from his Celtic days, he will still be the best midfielder presently playing in Scotland.
