I for one welcome and applaud the GB statement, I believe it is factually correct and exposes the weaknesses in the Celtic Board, whose financial grubbyness always override the founding principles of our great club. This is not about a pyro or a republican song, it's all about these Tory establishment generals on our board trying to dictate the direction of our club.

Agree6 Disagree1

Tickets withheld indefinitely. let’s see how that pans out with Rangers games coming up. Absolute joke of a club.

26 Nov 2019 21:05:41
So they are withholding tickets for both Rangers games?

26 Nov 2019 21:08:48
After reading the statement it would seem the pyros are here to stay . never learn all a bit childish.

26 Nov 2019 21:10:32
That's wild, why take out the heartbeat of the stadium, the 12th man in some aspects.

Yes, they at times go a bit over the score but an indefinate ban is pretty outrageous, even by our standards.

26 Nov 2019 21:11:14
Sorry can't agree with any of you there.
Time and time again the GB have been told not to use pyros but thought they could do what they want while chanting no pyro no party and laughing as the club is punished. So now the club have had enough and punishing the ones committing the crime and that was always going to be the out come.
GB only have themselves to blame here.

26 Nov 2019 21:20:46
I see what you're getting at, as I eluded to in being over the score on occasion . Mind the pre GB days though? Lacked atmosphere, certainly in comparison to what they bring to the table in recent times.

I'd rather be going into these games against them with the noise they generate rather than without it.

Shooting ourselves in the baws before such a crucial point of the season with big games coming up, better not come back to haunt us.

On the cusp of 10 in a row and the board want to silence the stadium, to appease what can only be described as a generation of pussies, nice one.

26 Nov 2019 21:37:07
Thers more to the stadiun than the gb and yes they are vocal but so are other parts of ground am with kev am sick of it they know the rules whether they like them or not. personally when I leave for a game am not thinking a wonder what the pyros will be like today am usually thinking about how we'll play.

26 Nov 2019 21:53:18
Lacked atmosphere pre green brigade! No offence pal but what utter pish! I’ve went to countless games pre green brigade that the atmosphere was 2nd to none! My first old firm game was November 98 5-1 we spanked them! Lubo got 2 so did henrik! No green brigade in sight but still to this day the loudest noise I’ve heard in paradise! The GB think the own the place which they don’t and never will! And it’s not to appease pussies, it’s to stop our club shelling out time and time again for these half wits! The green brigade no doubt have many good points and atmosphere but please spare me the no atmosphere before this mob showed up garbage eh! Where the green brigade there on our Seville run under MON or on the way to Lisbon? The answers naw and our club is more than just this lot!

26 Nov 2019 21:55:43
There's no chance Celtic will withhold tickets for the Glasgow derby it will be normal service resumed after Thursday in my opinion.

26 Nov 2019 22:13:20
I was there pre gb as many of you were see this pish that the atmosphere was just as good really? Maybe euro games or Rangers but week in week out they support the team Stadium is I like a morgue every where else. Funny how bhoys don't get a mention same ilk different section check out papa Francesco in Rome videos that’s them with the drum. Hopefully Thursday they step up and support the gb.

26 Nov 2019 22:15:37
IV said my piece about the GB. I'm not going over it again. What did they expect I thought it was coming. Celtic have given a standing part to the green brigade and we are the only club in Scotland who have this.
They are easily spotted now so win win for Celtic.
So Europe and two rangers games that's got to hurt.
So Celtic have taken there stance on this without saying much and just reacting.
Celtic is not just GB and I'm sure All other fans will sing just as loud to make up for it.
For me it does not change the mood or the excitement when at the game.

26 Nov 2019 22:15:59
Danny I attended my first game 32 years ago and have been in the ground when it felt like the noise was going to cause the place to cave in. Never had the GB for most that time.

26 Nov 2019 22:17:35
And anyone that thinks that stadium won't be rocking when the mob come to town GB or no GB are mental.

26 Nov 2019 22:23:10
The GB are good for atmosphere no doubt about it but they don’t win us games it’s the players on the park. Stop the pyro and sing songs about Celtic and the players of which there are plenty keep up the crap all that happens is the team gets a bad name and possible section closures.

26 Nov 2019 22:50:43
The Green Brigade bring a fantastic atmosphere to every game and they will be missed. If the team are not playing well, the Green Brigade will sing even louder and get behind the team. Pre Green Brigade the team would need to get the fans going first on most occasions.
Granted they have been told on numerous occasions not to bring pyros to matches but to give them a couple of days notice, is just pandering to the panty wetters, days before an Agm and the board would not be doing it, if qualification to the last 32 was still in the balance because then the board would be potentially losing a good few quid. Celtic lost millions in revenue in2011 due to the Res.12 fiasco, but yet the board have not got a back bone to stick up for the fans and go to battle against blatant cheaters, instead they would rather stick to their own supporters for them receiving the odd small fine.
The Green Brigade are the Heart and Soul of our club and should be treated with More Respect.

26 Nov 2019 22:57:35
I’m exactly the same kev, many many times I’ve been in paradise pre GB and the place is bouncing! And like you say when that lot come over in the new year game the place will be rocking GB or not! I do take your point on board to welshy and agree that they create a good atmosphere in the lesser games, I don’t think anyone can dispute that! They do a lot of good but for me let themselves and the club down with this pyro stuff! UEFA as much as I detest them clearly state they are not allowed so why not just leave it! Come sing songs have a good time add to the atmosphere but leave the other stuff behind!

26 Nov 2019 23:03:17
You say big games what’s it like v livi or st mirren get a grip we live on our atmosphere against the big boys and yes it’s great and would happen regardless of the gb where are you all when we play at home to the lesser teams fkn nowhere to be heard go through the motions.

26 Nov 2019 23:57:35
Personally I'm sick of hearing IRA songs and looking at palestinian flags, both have nothing to do with Celtic. How many warnings and fines do they need before these idiots learn? don't care about the atmosphere as just take all their season books away and give them to the people on the waiting list. Plenty of Celtic fans can make a great atmosphere without listening to the uneducated ones.

26 Nov 2019 23:58:53
yernawsbaws so we are all pussies because we don't agree with IRA songs? its people like you who drag Celtic down.

26 Nov 2019 23:11:10
so any supporters who are not members of GB and suffer because of their breaking the rules are considered collateral damage then.
Sorry but if we apply to play in a competition then we comply with the rules.
Sticking two fingers to UEFA is also doing it to the Club and supporters.

Admiral the GB raise equivalent and more when we are fined but. their money goes to their chosen charities. The club still loses money.
I will be truly peed off if I cannot attend a game because GB KNOWINGLY broke the rules.

26 Nov 2019 23:44:16
It's nothing to do with panty wetters. That's a load on nonsense. If it was this ban would have happened ages ago.

26 Nov 2019 23:55:51
The green brigade continue to drag the club through the mud with their stupid pyros, banners and flags. How many fines is that now? I think getting rid of the standing section is the next option.

27 Nov 2019 00:25:58
Who said I support ira songs? You're making things up to make yourself feel better. Calm down, pettle.

My opinion is the place is better with them there.

What's the problem with that? Or is it the word pussy that has triggered you?

27 Nov 2019 08:03:22
a few suggesting conspiracy theories as to why the ban has been implemented.
Nothing to do with fines continually being imposed because one section continually breaks the rules?
If we want to play in UEFA organised tournaments (which I want to see) then we have to accept the rules.
I think we have been fortunate thus far, not to have had partial ground closures and I see this action as being self-imposed before it is done by the ruling body.
The timing of the ban is disgusting as there will be supporters who have spent money to travel (including time off work etc. ) but GB has to take some responsibility for this as well.
