What is everyone's report card saying about lennon and his teams style at this stage of the season.
I know people didn't want him and still maybe don't but for me I look forward to each game knowing we will at least try to play progressive attacking football.
I was getting bored last season of passing around the back but we are looking to demolition teams at every opportunity.
Hopefully this style still brings us trophies and maybe joy in Europe.
Hows it been for you ed?

{Ed007's Note - It's as I expected it to be mate, peaks and troughs. The CL exit lies squarely on Lennon's shoulders and you can't just pretend the Livingston and Hibs results didn't happen, they're both tough away games but they're still games our quality should win through like we scraped the win at Hamilton.
On the plus side the style of football is generally a lot better than under Rodgers last 18 months but still sometimes you see the pointless passing starting to sneak in but that's probably just nit picking. Winning at Ibrox was a huge win for everyone psychologically and some of the EL results and performances show that Lennon and the players know the CL exit was a major balls up. The result at Pittodrie was another great performance on it's own - well the first half - let alone after the Lazio game and result.
Overall I'm happy with the way things are going and the appointment of Hammond full time has put some of my worries about how the Club can move forward on the back-burner but it's a long way until the end of the season and that's when Lennon should be judged whether you like him or not.
December is a HUGE month for us but if we play to our potential there will another trophy in the cabinet, a bit of breathing space in the league and in the latter stages of Europe to get us ready for the 9 and another Treble.}

Fair assessment Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Cheers mate.}

Been a harsh critic about Neil. CLUJ still annoys me but team play some nice football. Still early to predict what will happen long term. December will be crucial on how our season pans out. HH.

05 Nov 2019 07:19:38
Don't think anyone can argue with that assessment ed.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks, Kev.}

05 Nov 2019 08:47:08
Aye gd points ed.
Am sure if he could Lennon would pick a different team on that CL night.
A flat performance against hibs but getting one of the two stone wall penalties could have given us 3 points.
A lot of factors ballsed up the livi result.
Totally agree about December having
potential to make or break our season.
Does anyone concede that on paper at least, Lennons Celtic will face tougher challenge on the domestic front from rangers than his predecessors?

{Ed007's Note - No. Considering Lennon has been allowed to completely overhaul the defence, including the GK position I don't think that'll be an acceptable excuse for us not winning another Treble.
What we have now is by far the strongest squad of players we've had at Celtic in years - apart from the striker position but with LG being back in training that will help to keep us going till January when we can hopefully replace Bayo with better quality to challenge Eddy & LG.
Look back at the squad Deila had and then Rodgers who had Lustig/Ralston and KT/Izzy/Hayes as his full-back options, he was blocked from spending serious money on a new 'keeper and fought Lawwell to keep Boyata because he didn't want McKenna as his replacement.}

Good summation ed but these games come really early and I know if we done our business early it helps but Pedro takes an eternity to get deals done boli and julien weren't ready and the forster wasn't there either.

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter when a game is played, our league had started and we'd played 2 SPFL games around the Cluj fixtures plus the earlier qualifiers. Lennon played McGregor at LB and he failed to close the game down when we were ahead after 76 minutes.
You can't use when a game was played to excuse conceding 4 goals at home against a team like Cluj and you can't blame Lawwell for it either, it was Lennon's team selection and tactics that failed.
Julien signed on the 28th June, Bolingoli was on 3rd July (and made his debut in the CL against Sarajevo on the 17th July) so how come they weren't ready for a game on August the 13th but they were OK to be on the bench?
It was Lennon's insistence in trying to shoehorn Ntcham and McGregor into the team that backfired and he should have seen that during the game and changed it, to be ahead and qualified after 76 mins, with the opponent needing 2 goals to go through, and then blowing it isn't down to Peter Lawwell is it?}

Yep his team selection was all wrong good points mate.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

Most of us could see it wasn't working properly after 15 minutes. We were missing calmac energy in the middle of the park.
He does look like he learned a lesson from it though he is still prone to the odd brain fart and his subs are bizarre most the time.
That being said we are doing well at the moment.

05 Nov 2019 16:41:00
Ok all of above is in the past, we where all disappointed about cluj they had that one great game in them and they had it against us. We learned after that and got stronger.
We are in every cup top of the league and playing gd looking football and scoring all over the park.
I think Lenny has learned he had to hit the ground running to please you lot harsh critics 😜. He needs time he's just came back in the door.
On a positive. Tho. We are stronger and always look like scoring our defence is better midfield pretty gd. Ntcham is a gd player what happened there I think he wants the big money move like his pal dumbell but he needs to actually play.
The Sinclair's saga goes on imo he should be on before wee Johnny, sved etc. But he must be off.
Our strike force nearly there I thought Sinclair up front.
We have eddy, Griff big? Mark, bayo unproven. Why not try Sinclair's there. As for recruitment I think a forward as gd or better than eddy what does that mean for Griff bayo. ?
I do have a little gripe tho I'm also starting to think that Forrest is getting a little selfish some said earlier posts it's that Chris commons thing but he had stopped that for a while and less selfish it seems to have come back Lenny will have a word with him.

{Ed007's Note - You'r not seriously trying to say that Cluj had a one off great game against us are you, Andy when we were 3-2 up with 14 mins to go? If that result had happened under Deila he would have been crucified for it.}

05 Nov 2019 18:41:02
They held us off we got cocky and it backfired.
They scored. Lenny got it wrong.
Now it's improved since then you have got to admit that @ED.
Delia was given time #ED.
When Lennon got the job plenty others on here could not wait to have a go at him. ALL THE NAMES IN THE FRAME FOR THE JOB WAS JUST TALK.
We needed a manager who had to hit the ground running win everything know the score about Scottish football so far thinking we got lucky with him.
Lennon was correct decision and has proven so far to be a gd move.

Lenny is giving Celtic fans what they want nice football a bit of believe and gd away form in Europa cup games under Rodgers the away form so bad.
I'm not saying there are not better managers out there but Lennon is one of these better managers.

{Ed007's Note - I've just been sick in my mouth a bit 🤮 and you should definitely put that post in your Valentine's card to Lennon.
Do you wax so lyrically about your bird?}

05 Nov 2019 20:57:02
Hahaha I'm sending you a valentims cards ( see what I did there ) don't be stealing it.
Bring the thunder @ED 🔥🔥.

{Ed007's Note - Get the Rebs on! 🎶🎵
