Someone posted earlier that ntcham should play no 10 from now on after last night, but was he not in the engine room with Callum as rogic played at 10, oh and he scored twice sorry I don't buy it, av said before if your as good a passer as ntcham you can play midfield and he should be chipping in with the odd goal as well.

Mally it was Partick Thistle, Ntcham was awful in that position under Rodgers last season. Or could his poor performances last year be down to the fact he wanted away? He seems to have a new lease of life under Lennon, he seems a lot happier.

We signed him malky due to him playing that position not no 10 I know it was Partick i stated that yesterday personally I think he can play both.

Ntcham has real quality when he can be botherd turning it on.

I don't see him as a no10. Certainly not compared to Christie. Let's just keep him at CM where we know he can play.

But we don't know that JimTim based on previous performances in that position, maybe that's because he was unhappy I don't know. What we do know is Lennon has a few headaches and credit to him for the quality of squad he has built.
Three of the goal scorers last night were first picks under the previous manager - Ntcham, Rogic and Sinclair. We still have the likes of Griffiths and Bitton to return, Shved to stake a claim so it keeps players on their toes and giving 100% everytime and not taking their staring 11 place for granted as they know there's genuine quality ready to take their place.
On his day I think Ntcham has more quality than Christie, I don't know what anyone else thinks?

We didn't know Ntcham was a centre mid? He's been brilliant for us there plenty of times, spraying balls, driving play, getting into attacking areas. It's asking him to either screen a defence or play as a no10 where the problems lie.

26 Sep 2019 18:24:04
Look at the threat of repeating myself anyone who can pass like him can play both positions easy.

{Ed007's Note - For me Ntcham's best position is playing the box-to-box role, when we're on the defensive he's back helping out the main CDM and when we've got the ball he's starting attacks, getting the ball up to the front men and wingers, and when we're in and around the opposition box he's getting himself up there supporting the attack, making late runs into the box etc.}

I think you are getting confused JimTim as we don't play with central midfielders as such, and we haven't for a number of seasons now, To clarify, the formation we play is a 4231 which consists of 2 central defensive midfielders (CDM) and a central attacking midfielder (CAM No.10) we don't have any players who play a central midfield role as you would in a 442 formation for example. So the role you and other people are asking Ntcham to play is a CDM ( screen a defence) . He played there last season beside Brown in that role and everyone was moaning they slow the play down etc etc.
He may have looked like he was playing a more central midfield role against lowly Partick Thistle due to lack of quality in the opposition and the space he was subsequently afforded due to this lack of quality but I can assure you against better quality of opposition he will be playing the role that people were moaning about last season about the play being slowed down etc. So it cannot be a problem asking Ntcham to either play the No.10 role or shield the defence as that is the formation we play. He is much better playing the No.10 role👍.

I'm sure he could do a job for us there against a lot of sides Mally. Talking about where to get the best use of him though, I agree with Ed.

26 Sep 2019 18:54:02
Think it's you getting confused Malky. We don't play with central midfielders 😞👍.

Probably one of the main reasons Ntcham looked out of place beside Brown last season was Rodgers's slow build up possession based tactics, With Lennon's quicker build up from back to front you would see the box to box role that ed mentioned if Ntcham was playing beside Brown who would be the main CDM. Just a thought?

{Ed007's Note - That's exactly what I mean, Malky. In any normal 4-2-3-1 the player playing next to Brown would do the job I described - you can see McGregor doing it more as well - and they should be your main playmaker. Brown's good at his job but he's no creative lynchpin, he should win the ball and then give it to McGregor or Ntcham who have the skill and vision to pick a pass or bring the ball forward, Brown shouldn't be controlling the tempo of our game which was happening under Rodgers.}
