Today marks the Anniversary of Jock stein death in 1985.Jock was the greatest to ever manage in Scottish football.
We all know well about his European record and Celtic winning 9 titles out of first 9 full seasons.
Jock took over the managers role in March 1965 and right away won the Scottish cup, our first trophy in 8 years, since beating Rangers 7-1 in 1957.
After winning the Scottish cup in 1965,Jock took Celtic to 19 out of 20 domestic cup finals, over the next 10 years, which is an incredible record.
Only Dunfermline beat Celtic in an early Scottish cup clash in 1968 and the Pars then went on to win the cup.
Fans of the old club had the audacity to question that their 9 in a row team were a match for Jocks 9 in a row heroes.
Bertie Auld was asked 20 years ago which 9 in a row team would win and Bertie as quick as a flash said, Celtic would win 1-0 but remember some of our players are in their 60s now. 😂BIG JOCK x.
