How’s things anyway ED? See Uve been laying low. any thoughts (that are printable 🤣) about Tuesdays embarrassment?

{Ed007's Note - The manager arrogantly underestimated Cluj and thought he would get away with his bizarre/stupid team selection and tactics against an inferior team.
The usual overreaction - to anything - is not surprising.}

Come on Ed its hardly an over reaction lennon is tactically unaware his team selection really lave something to be desired he blamed the team for the failings on Tuesday and he is partly right but at the end of the day the buck stops with him. He will take all the plaudits for being successful but wants to pass the buck when things are going wrong. I personally didn't want lennon back and I have admitted that numerous times but when he was appointed I was hoping he would have been successful and I still hope he is but I don't think it should be at our club.

{Ed007's Note - It's an overreaction because if you went into it with your eyes open you would have seen how difficult it was going to be for us to make the group stages. We struggle every year to do it and now that we've went down the cheap route with the management team and the squad needing an overhaul how could anyone realistically have been confident?
When we drew Cluj I was told by someone that's been good friends with Petrescu since he came to England that he was fine coach and tactician who could easily outsmart Lennon, Lennons team selection and tactics made it even easier for him.
I'd have been more surprised if we had made the group stages and I'll be just even more surprised if we get through the qualifiers next summer.
We like to see ourselves as a CL club when it's obvious by our management & player recruitment that we aren't. The Club rarely shows any real ambition and when we do we end up shooting ourselves in the foot and screwing things up.
And it's going to keep on happening until we bring in a Director of Football and take that power away from Lawwell.
Who's in charge of the overall footballing department, who's looking to the future and putting long term plans into practice, who's running the scouting & recruitment department? Neither Lennon or Lawwell are qualified to do any of that and it's showing and starting to take its toll.
Contrary to said overreaction we're still miles ahead domestically and we will win the league and maybe the Scottish Cup, the board are running the Club to maintain our place as a HUGE fish in a small pond but they continuously drop the ball when it comes to taking the next step up.}

I know you didn't want him ed but would you have sacked him after That?

I never call for a managers head. But I'd have sacked him.

{Ed007's Note - He should never have got the job in the first place, Kev but I wouldn't sack him and once the 9th title's delivered all will be forgiven by the usual suspects.}

16 Aug 2019 11:20:47
Kev, you keep saying you never call for a managers head yet you wanted Lenny sacked at half time on Tuesday.

16 Aug 2019 11:29:26
I don't think it's a formality to get 9 iAR not because the opposition is any better but IMO we are far weaker than last year with Lennon in charge I hope to God I am wrong his tactics for even the cup final was crazy we got lucky with a penalty in that game Just still thinking I am in a crazy dream and will waken up soon.

16 Aug 2019 11:40:20
I’m not so sure everything will be forgiven this time Ed . The penny has dropped with a few more this time, realising that we are only trying to be the big fish in the small pond . I can only see the mood becoming worse, especially if we lose at ipox .

{Ed007's Note - You've already got people trying to blame Lawwell etc- even John Kennedy - for Tuesday's fiasco when the blame lies solely at the manager's feet.
I wonder if all the supporters that blame Kennedy for our defensive frailties - even though he isn't our defensive coach - also give him the credit for the likes of Virgil, Tierney & Ajer?}

16 Aug 2019 12:03:58
Leon my point was that I have never before called on a manager to be sacked until now.

16 Aug 2019 12:07:08
Oh and Leon I wanted him sacked the minute I seen the line up. I could see what was coming and our manager couldn't. What does that tell you?

16 Aug 2019 12:07:32
Al back lenny but Tues was all his doing nothing to do with Pedro the squad we have should have been good enough. ib saying that my gripe is we are never ready we never get business done early so players are fit and settled it's not rocket science even the great Rodgers went out to a pish athens team.

16 Aug 2019 12:36:55
That fact is Malky if you go back and look at what could have been achieved this summer if Lawwell actually pushed the boat out and used the 10 million we acquired from Rodgers moving on an actual decent coaching set up we could potentially be going into the next qualifier. Due to Lennons terrible tactics and decision making we went out. If we had a decent manager we’d be through. Dan Petrescu himself said it would take a miracle for Cluj to beat our squad and they put us away for good. That’s where the issue lies for me and always has been. The moment Lennon was appointed was the moment we took that step backwards. The fact Lawwell mentioned that he hadn’t even looked at applications says the lot. Absolute nob of a man.
