Yeah, that's because the big four nations have carved up the tournament to their benefit by pre-qualifying 26 of the 32 places, leaving only 6 for every other country in Europe to compete for. "Champions" League, my arse. Celtic will never progress beyond where they currently stand unless there is a sea change across European football. We are too big for Scotland but are held back from taking the next step up. And we are not alone. Something has to change and I think the mid ranking European FA's are getting pissed off enough for that to happen.

Well said Kdycelt it’s exactly as you said, some of our fans for whatever reason seem to think we should be competing with the big guns. The 26 teams you were referring to have the financial clout to sign the quality players required at that level. We play in a backwater league were top players are not interested in, take Tommy Smith who we were alleged to be after chose the championship with Stoke rather than an opportunity to sample champions league football and he is not quality that sums up Scottish football.
Its time for clubs throughout Europe to make a stand regarding the elitism that UEFA have created and until that happens we will always be playing four qualifiers against teams that are not even in Europe geographically.
