Jamie if I remember right your a bit of an expert on shares, my mate had to sell his celtic shares last week, he bought them in 1999 for £700 and only got half his money back, how is that even possible after the success we've had?

Hi Steph, At that time wee Fergus was just about to exit stage left Steph. There were something like 17 mill shares in circulation and the share price was about £2.80 ( I think ) When the bunnet left he offered his shares up to mainly institutional investors but your pal at the time should/ could have been offered a preferred option to purchase more. (Again from memory) it was 1 for every three or four held. DD had less than 20% of the club at that time.

Over the years the shares have been diluted ( like across the city ) There now ( again circa 90+/ -? million shares in circa and DD has 43% . EVERY time a share is diluted ( that would have been for projects or expenditure purposes ) You must give EXISTING shareholders a " sweetner or a preferential option" and I presume your pal never took that option up Steph ( you would need to ask him mate)

But when NL took over the first time round the share price was circa 40p it is now in excess of 400% of that! I said last year that the formula now where we get CL football or EL the share price rises the formula is so simple and appealing to investors Celtic are run superbly mate and don't budget for EL football, Unlike across the road

Anytalk of the share price dipping when BR left was and is BS and if I had not been so busy at the time I would have had plenty to say on it in actual the day we banked the money for BR and staff compensation monies in it hit a five year HIGH (Y) I monitor the Celtic share price EVERY day in a live setting and it is so static it would send you to sleep mate (Y)
