A lot of people on hear say we have cm better than turnbull . Ok but how many goals did our cms score last season. And how many did turnbull score 14/ 15 think that says he would make our cm stronger next season if we did get him .
( that's my opinion anyway)

Agree2 Disagree0

What teams did Turnbull score against?

What standard of quality were the teams he scored against?

These are concerns fans have and they are well within their rights for a player who has only played 1 full season.

17 Jun 2019 21:09:53
Same teams we played against.

17 Jun 2019 21:16:14
As I said that’s just my opinion .
If we can get a better player all the better but I’m not hearing any names and it’s getting a bit worrying
As we need a few players 🥺.

Motherwell never played in Europe last season, so it's not the same teams. All Turnbulls stats say he can score in league, he is unproven outside league. Also Christie is a far better player who although only played 18 league games due to injury still scored 8 goals. Your post is ignorant not reflecting on that issue.

😂😂 looks turnbulls agent arriving at cp for the meeting and leaving 🤣.

17 Jun 2019 22:11:23
The closest we had in central midfield was Christie with 11 goals in all competitions; Cal-Mac, Ntcham and Rogic totalled 13 between them, so that's maybe why we tried to sign a goal-scoring midfield player?
It's also worth noting we were without a poacher all season as well.

Lol my point is valid though ed.

Philtim 88 how many times had Christie played in Europe before we signed him?

17 Jun 2019 22:41:09
Philtim88 your hilarious! A 19 year old boy scores 15 goals and 4 assists in an average team, grabbing them by the scruff of the neck! What potential that is to come and play with players who will compliment his talent. Our CM played against teams in 38 league games and only Christie produced. How can a young boy prove himself until given the opportunity at the next level? It’s not ignorant to see potential in a young player but it is to post utter BS and contradict yourself. Who did he score against? Your Fin hilarious!

17 Jun 2019 22:42:26
It's going to be a long summer Ed 🤣🤣🤣 Turnbull will score more than McGregor, Rogic, Ntcham, Bitton, Mulumbu, Kouassi, Henderson or Brown playing in our team. We have missed that box to box goalscoring player as we failed to replace Armstrong. Johansen done well too when he first came and Christie has done a good job also. McGregor can do a job but he's better pulling the strings as he links up play well and speeds up the ball from defence to attack.

17 Jun 2019 22:59:59
These are the ridiculous arguments that were spouted by, probably the same people, when we were after McGinn, . now they are saying, he only played for Motherwell, who did he score against, he will never do it in Europe, he is just not good enough, not good enough to wear the jersey, ec ceter ra, ec ceter ra,

17 Jun 2019 23:38:16
Once a bhoy Christie had a few injuries last season but if the goals to appearances ratio he returned isn't good enough for you what is?

18 Jun 2019 01:17:24
Philtim; Read the post again. Where did I say it wasn't good enough? He played 40 games - scored 11 and that was nearly the total combined for the rest of the central mid. His total would have been more barring injuries, but we went for Turnbull to add more firepower and add an extra dimension - not to replace Christie.

18 Jun 2019 02:28:25
Would Turnbull have scored as many goals for Celtic last season we play different styles we rely on the goals coming from the wider areas hence the reason both Sinclair and Forrest scored more goals than our centre mids but that's just my opinion.

18 Jun 2019 07:29:43
I see Turnbull as more of a CAM than a CM. At the least a box to box role similar to Armstrong. I think it would be Rogic's position in a 4231 that would be under threat. Not Brown, CalMac or Ntcham.

18 Jun 2019 09:02:39
The difference is when teams play Motherwell they believe they can win and they play to win, which opens play and gives Motherwell space to move Into,

When Celtic play teams they are very compact and tight and its very hard to find those pockets in behind defenders.

There is a massive difference on how teams play against each team.
Just because turnbull managed to get space at Motherwell doesn't mean he'd do so easily at celtic as teams are much harder to break Down.

(but at the same time he might)

18 Jun 2019 09:33:27
Selboy you could also argue he will be playing with better players and a team that dominates possession and attacks more.

18 Jun 2019 14:49:35
Point of my post was it was disrespectful towards players already at club, considering season we had last. They knuckled down and got us over the line.

Valid point I raised questioning teams he has scored against. It's alright for aindoh and SOS bhoy to slate Defoe and Morelos for quality of teams they have scored against, yet when you question a player that is close to signing for us it's not permitted?

How silly are you?

18 Jun 2019 15:07:55
Iv never once question who Defoe and Morelos have scored against, it’s easy to make up a lying counterpoint BS response! It’s fine for some one to question a potential signing we all have different opinions. Your explanation is stupid and foolish with a ridiculous logic! our team has been flat and lacked dynamism. Young Scottish player with bags of potential and a strong mentality is a good signing in my book. Should we just say no more CM’s as the guys we have got us through? No we need to evolve and only time will tell if the player will flourish.

18 Jun 2019 15:44:02
How many young players of the year have went backwards after winning award?

It's your explanation that is foolish as he has played 1 season and is as now untested at a higher level! Anyone can score in SPFL take stokes for example, could score for fun in league but failed in Europe!

I hope Turnbull does do well but at the moment we need players that are tried and tested that have a few seasons under their belt.

You will be first one slating Turnbull if he fails.
