You're either too young or a zombie if you have a point of view that differs from some on this page. The point I'm making is doing good business is much harder as it used to be which negates the financial advantage we have locally as the market is inflated elsewhere. I'm more than happy to have secured a promising young talent.

Mally his point was we couldn't compete with the big clubs for players in the 90s and it's back to being like that now.

Cheers kev. That's it in a nutshell. Back then we were scrabbling for gems amongst trash as we had no money competing with clubs akin if not the same as Barnsley and now 30years later were considered a rich financially stable club but cannot, and shouldn't, compete with clubs with less success in england and abroad. Unknowns in the English leagues command multi million fees. For me signing the lads great business.

Guys my original post was tongue in cheek having a wee dig at Pedro. I think him and the board have learned lessons and we will sign some good players this window. The problem is competing not just with the EPL but English Championship clubs also who are prepared to pay £50k a week and more.
But I still think Lawwell is a tight so and so lol.
