Ryancelt, I agree with you mate. I think we should be sending our young coaches to Ajax or the Barcelona’s to be coached into a different way of coaching kids, and getting our lads to play the way they do ðŸ‘.

We need to do something because we produce very little in terms of young players who are good enough to get into our team, never mind teams of a higher calibre. In the last twenty years we have produced, for my mind, only Tierney who could get a game for the Man City’s of this world. Mcgreggor, Forrest, McGeady apart, we have produced next to nothing.
We now have Henderson, Johnson and Dembelle and to be honest I think only Dembelle has the potential to play for bigger teams. Both Henderson and Johnson look too slight to make that step up. Dembelke too could do with a growth spurt but he has a golden touch. We always hear about this young player or that coming through, but the proof is on how many actually play for us week in week out. That number is pathetically low. Something needs to be changed as one player every ten years or so is an awful return. We produce players for the Dundee’s of this world and that return is woeful.

Problems we had last season, nobody anticipated. Manager, injuries, signings but we still cleared up in all competitions. Squad was not as strong as previous season but were still streets ahead of competition.
I'm certain only reason there was a poor transfer window at start of season was Lawwell knew deal was done for Rodgers to go to Leicester and wasn't prepared to back a dead horse when he knew new manager would have new ideas. Common sense really.

There is always only a handful of young talent that make it to the top of the Scottish game anyway.
From what I've seen over the years, the majority is coming out of lennoxtown, so I'm not too disheartened by the youngsters right now.
Young Henderson, wee dembele and Johnston look like real good young players, all about bleeding them in at the right time and watch them go from strength to strength.
