Celtic have drawn up 3 man shortlist for Managerial position that consists of Lennon, Moyes and Micheal O Neill.
Benitez is likely to conclude extension to Newcastle contract in next couple of days and his wage demands are too high.
AVB was only touted as he was over here doing coaching badges.
Pardew is interested but the board don't consider him to be on the shortlist.
Personally I favour Lennon he has a good track record domestically and in the Champions League with a good transfer record as well, gives us best chance of success as appointing someone else is more of a gamble with Euro qualifiers coming thick and fast.

{Ed007's Note - What coaching badges was AVB over here doing and when was this? As far as I'm aware AVB has had all his coaching badges for years, if he didn't then he wouldn't have been allowed to coach in the EPL.}

Pass me that pinch a salt Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Choosing between Moyes, O'Neill or Lennon is like choosing to get kicked on your left bollock, right bollock or both - they're all just as painful as the others.}

Ed, who do you realistically think is going to get the job? HH.

{Ed007's Note - Neil Lennon.}

This thread is pork pies. Michael oneil is nowhere near running for job.

I'm confident Neil Lennon won't even get a look in and I reckon new manager has been identified a while back.

Peter Lawwell is a money man and as much as we have our moan about him, he is good at what he does. He is not going to take any chances on potentially messing up the huge revenue potential from getting 10iar when we are so close. Every man and their dog will want to buy the celtic top, dvds, tickets for games, special memorabilia and be a part of 10iar. That's not going to happen with Lennon in charge.

Added to that he has ruffled a few feathers since stepping in as interm.

23 May 2019 13:53:44
I don't see 10iar as being any kind of money spinner in any way. It's a pride thing with bragging rights attached and a kick in the bollox for the Sevvies, nothing more than that. HH.

23 May 2019 14:29:39
I disagree and I'm sure a lot of our fans will feel the same. It will be a money spinner setting a new record, getting one over that mob and the feeling we will all have will be epic. The club will cash in on that because a happy fan= money.

23 May 2019 15:09:38
It is a money maker. It’s exactly like the big anniversary’s for the Lisbon lions. Massive profit seasons with more sales than usual. It would be the same for us. We need to win the treble this season and we need to win the 10. We are so close and there’s no reason why we should slip up. After that the club loses the stress and we can move on.

23 May 2019 16:09:47
O'Neill? Right he's done a good job For Northern Ireland (sorry JFP for using that term) but scrap that because it's a different game to managing a club. So essentially we're looking at a Brechin amd Shamrock Rovers Manager turning 50? Doubt it. Lump on Lenny bhoys, 5/ 1.

23 May 2019 16:16:09
I think the Board is correct in making no statement about our permanent Manager before the Scottish Cup final on Saturday . I can see no possible benefit in naming manager before our very important final game . Neil Lennon and all the players need to concentrate fully on getting proper result on Sat .
Similarly there is no point on us fans blathering away pure nonsense about new manager. Some of us are building expectations in the clouds and others are more realistic but none can benefit anyone involved with Celtic, let us beat Hearts on Saturday and then rant and rave about be manager until we find out officially.

23 May 2019 17:16:21
Hi Eds when next week comes and everybody has got over their hangovers win or loose the cup do you recon that Lennon will be announced as new manager? It would not surprise me that he would be and that PL will be saying that after due diligence looking at other candidates we feel NL has done the job asked of him and now we a prepared to give the job full time and back over theses next two years.

23 May 2019 17:32:36
Philtim88 Michael Oneil has been spoken to twice by Celtic about the managers position. Would be a horrendous appointment if it were to ever happen.

23 May 2019 17:39:17
😂😂 Rich how many times do you want to ask who the Ed think will be the new manager.

23 May 2019 19:13:12
Rich T lol campsie bhoy how do you know that?

23 May 2019 21:37:22
If we get 9 or 10 I wonder if there will be a special kit released for it as most supporters will jump all over it. Huge money spinner that'll be.
