I know a lot of online talk is just that, talk. But rumours are that Nitcham is "unsettled" and Celtic have slapped £7m price tag on him, yet last year Porto were prepared to pay £14m so his value has halved. Add that to the £9m we apparently lost for Boyata. That is money that could have helped us sign decent replacements.
Lawwell and Rodgers both made a mess of handling both these players situations.
I just hope Pedro does not feck up our new manager quest as well.

We got 7 million for Armstrong.7 million VVD addon and 9.5 million for BRexit. Also 20 million for Dembele. Many slag off Lawell but he knows his stuff when it comes to generating £££'s. There was no actual offer for Ntcham and I'm sure Pedro won't let him go on the cheap. Boyata scenario was a disaster.

22 May 2019 16:07:25
Got to disagree there tim.
We didn't have enough time to get a replacement for boyata so keeping him was essential
Winning the league was a must and the big man played his part.
We now have a pop at 40 million because of that.
Who said ntcham is now worth half what he was last season?
Anyone think pistol Pete will fold like that is aff there nut.
This guy got 7 million for a player in the last year of his contract remember.

Tim this is the sort of thing I’ve been saying for a long time. Lawwell/ the board have put us in a difficult situation this summer and no one is looking at it that way. We’ve got a bigger rebuilding job than the rangers this summer. The board must deliver this summer after there failures last summer. No excuses as they have the resources and the backing of the fans going by ST sales.

Surley nonsense, value halved after a contract extension 🧐

Clearly a load of Raffael Scheidt.

22 May 2019 16:55:10
I disagree with Kev, Boyata should never have played for us after refusing to play for us. He is as bad as the snake in my opinion. Glad to get shot of him😁.

22 May 2019 16:55:56
Bigger rebuild than rangers? Where do people get this rubbish?

22 May 2019 17:09:13
David end of the day he helped us win points. How would you have played instead Hendry? The rest all had runs of injuries.

22 May 2019 17:11:46
Same Kev, I read today that an ex sevconian player was spouting about that we have a bigger rebuilding job than them. seemingly us winning the league by 9 points was all but a dream. We need some quality additions to the squad, but we are still the champions and should be respected as such.

22 May 2019 17:21:18
We don’t have a bigger rebuilding job than Sevco.

22 May 2019 17:59:35
Not one of they're players would make our starting line up. So who anyone claims our build is bigger than theirs is beyond me.
I really can't believe any Celtic fan would believe that nonsense.

22 May 2019 18:33:02
I believe we’ve got a lot of work to do. Maybe a bit too far saying we have a bigger job to do than sevco but we need a good 4-5 first team players to challenge again this season. The players can’t cope with another year. Plus i imagine we’ll lose 1 or 2 first team players again.

22 May 2019 18:50:02
That i can agree with ken, pretty much spot on.

22 May 2019 19:07:29
Think keeping Boyata probably won us the league. Maybe the few replacements we had in mind was unavailable so it was more beneficial to lose Boyata for free in the summer than sell him and replace him for a lesser player.

22 May 2019 19:19:13
Looking at the standard of player they are recruiting, plus those who will not be retained, they are still well below our quality and class and before anyone mentions the game at Ibrox, the league table and trophy cabinet variations of the two clubs says it all.
We retained our dominant position regardless of so many hurdles and difficult situations and played well within ourselves for months.
The biggest transition for us will be managerial and after that the recruitment objectives, clearing out and consolidation will follow.

Brendan Rodgers planned in January 2018 to bring in not one but two replacements for Boyatac, by doing so he gave Boyata 6 months notice that Celtic would be selling him . B R signed Compper and Hendry two big centre halves that B R thought he had a top man for the short term and long term .
No doubt Boyata thought his time at Celtic was ending in the summer when there was just a year left . He thought a deal could be made to suit everyone, Celtic get a decent transfer fee and he could sign for a club in a top league .
The fact that Brendan had signed not one but two centre halves that were a disappointment to most Celtic fans and neither could fill Boyata's shoes was hardly his fault.

Did anyone see the mocked up table some person made up, they showed what the league wouldve looked like if the last ten minutes of every game weren't counted. Surprise surprise they finished top. Honestly they'll do anything to convince themselves they're challenging.

22 May 2019 22:58:36
But refusing to play was OMC. No excuse for that and because of it no Celtic fan is sad to see him away.

23 May 2019 16:41:28
Kev83. Last summer we did'nt think B R was as big a rat and liar as we found out in February . Liar Rodgers fed us the Boyata story and at that time we believed him. After Brendan left I have had suspicions of the whole Boyata Rodgers summer scene and I have to say, I have no reason to believe Rodgers and I think BR may have more dirt on his hands than we were led to believe .
I am sure B R made a total hash of our summer transfer window . BR couldn't handle losing both Boyata and M D leave at end of window . He decided to stand up to Boyata and cost club £9m He knew that M D wanted to leave before the last couple of days of window and hoped to run time down . Brendan was out of his depth and didn't do best for club . He had lost the confidence of two key players.
