Just throwing this out for debate.
We all know Celtic need to fill a few gaps next season, are there any current SPL players that anyone thinks are good enough to play in our team?

I'd take the boy Lowe that's playing at the dons on loan fae derby but that's it.
Only problem which ed had mentioned before would he get enough games to satisfy him because on Tierney being 1st pick?

Timothy Weah 😊.

The only player I can think of that might be of interest would be David Turnbull of Motherwell but I don’t think he would be a regular starter. Good player though.

O'Donnel-killy RB (fight it out with Ralston for starting slot)

Ikpeazu-Hearts CF (battering ram for direct plan B approach)

Turnbull-M'Well Mid (replaces armstrong goals)

Liam Kelly- Livi GK ( excellent back up to SB)

Our sort of budget, weakens rest of teams. leaves enough in kitty for couple real QUALITY players . striker/ AM, possibly back up LB🍀.

In past eras there have always been obvious players like McDonald, Hartley, Robson

Even Mackay Stevens, Armstrong etc. All good players but recently it's a bit stale.

None stand out to me. I think that Livingston keeper is good, Liam Kelly.

Greg Taylor at killie, Stuart Findlay at killie we sold to Newcastle.

Few things getting said about souttar making improvements this season.

None would get a game here atm but would be a good signing for other clubs.

01 May 2019 03:26:18
None. Signing players from clubs we regularly beat doesn't improve us. Some may look good but stepping up a level is too much for most. We will canter to 10 in a row as we will be up against that lot with signings from the likes of Killy, Dundee, Hearts etc.

Omeonga has looked a decent player anytime I've seen him. don't know if he's gd enough for us though.

01 May 2019 05:40:25
Absolutely none. There's a couple that could fill in gaps in the squad but in terms of playing? No.

01 May 2019 07:36:59
Dicker looks decent and a Tim.

01 May 2019 08:35:00
We've seen a number of great goal-keeping displays this year. Would anyone take a punt on any of them? Seem to remember the Aberdeen and Livi goalies putting in especially good shifts.

01 May 2019 09:27:33
I think the other teams have players that look very good playing against us, but would probably struggle to make the step-up to The Champions and especially the demands of what is playing for Celtic.
There is a distinct difference in standards and class between us and the rest and although a few raise their game against us, we really do have the best players already here.

01 May 2019 10:34:20
Here we go, dicker looks decent because he’s a tim. He’s absolutely rank rotten and wouldn’t get anywhere near the bench.

Only a couple would be good enough for bench. Mulraney at hearts could be a good back up option, and obviously the boy Lowe. O’donnell one minute looks decent, the next he’s like an amateur caught in the headlights.

01 May 2019 10:39:34
Pud. I don't think that's fair at all. I mean our first team keeper is Bain from Dundee. A guy who couldn't make it at Aberdeen.

He's worked hard and put in some solid performances.

What about McDonald, Armstrong, Robson, Hartley, Pressley, Agathe, Robson, McNamara, Caldwell, Scott Brown etc list could go on.

You say don't sign people from teams you beat regularly. So why would Liverpool have signed van dijk from Southampton?

People just think signing domestic players isn't fancy enough but good players can come from anywhere

And like Bain some guys get an opportunity they never expected and they train hard to take the opportunity with appreciation.

Tesla we don't see eye to eye on many thing but that comment just hit the nail on the head bud.

01 May 2019 12:08:15
Everyone is forgeting we signed Brown and Christie from the Spl. Ajer was developed into a first team player at Kilmarnock. No one wanted to see Armstrong leave.
Spl player are no greater a risk than another. we have signed a number of stinkers over the last 30 years from Different leagues. Who remembers Slater from Arsenal.
There are a number of players who could possibly possibly make it a Celtic Park.
Kelly, McKenna, Turnball, Brophy would be the four i would consider with Turnball and Kelly loaned back to there clubs for a year.

I would like to see at smaller younger squad for next season with reserve players given a chance to step up.
Ralston, Perez, Gutman, Deas and Welsh, Church, Kouassi, Hill, R Hendry, Johnston, Henderson, Morgan, Aitchison, Bayo and Arzani all given time to play some part in first team games.
Lets find out if they are good enough also I would like to see Doohan and Hazard on the Bench backing up Bain and J Hendry and C Miller given a run to find there feet I see Hendry in a three and i would love to see Miller play as central a no 10 breaking into the box not a full back or winger. Did anyone see his goal for Ayr when he had to play as a striker classic back post slide in.

01 May 2019 12:08:18
Wind yer neck in Gerry the boy strolled through sat game the Tim comment gets made on here all the time and it helps if they have a genuine love for the club.

01 May 2019 12:44:26
I'd take the Aberdeen keeper that's on loan there. No others are up to the level to play for us. Don't want to weaken other teams we are already stronger than them. Let them fight it out for 2nd with the huns.

01 May 2019 12:44:53
He’s 32, what makes you think he would come in and do a job for us ahead of brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Biton and even Henderson who is a better player? Genuinely curious. Did you think he was a good player when he got ran ragged earlier in the season against us?

01 May 2019 15:15:14
A never said he was better than the players you mentioned, the question is would he do a job he bossed the game at the crumbledome a few weeks ago as well. Salzburg ran us ragged by your logic we should bin most of our first team.

01 May 2019 16:19:09
Good question and it’s a market which has produced gems as well as duds, for every Scott MacDonald we have a Ciftci.

Marciano - Hibs
Omenga - Hibs
Mallan - Hibs
Lewis - Aberdeen
Cosgrove - Aberdeen
Dicker - Kilmarnock
Findlay - Kilmarnock
Bachmann - Kilmarnock
Morelos - Sevco

Some of them above are still developing and could become Celtic quality but at this time all would be regarded as back up.

Gary Dicker has been solid for Killie this year and deserves some plaudits but he is on the wrong side of 30 and unlikely to be even considered + we thought Mulumbu looked good for Killie last year and look how that turned out.

01 May 2019 17:05:20
Well the answer to your question Mally is he definetley wouldn’t.

01 May 2019 19:07:11
Didn't know he was wrong side of 30 am basing my assessment on what I've seen.
