At the start of nextvseadon we should be well covered for wide men if you count shved Johnstone Morgan arzani hayes Forrest and possibly Sinclair.

Shved is an unknown quantity, Morgan not Celtic class, Hayes is squad player. Other than Forrest we don’t have sufficient 1st team quality.

Shved has scores 15 Goals in 25 games in a league better than our own. Don’t act like he’s an unknown quantity when he’s been one of the best players in the Ukrainian league this year. Second top scorer in the division and that’s all coming from the wing. Only Junior Moraes of Shakhtar Donetsk has scored more than him. Do your homework before branding players and giving false information. He’s a huge get for us and probably our best prospect on the wing.

Ideally, I would like to see a squad of 24-28 players with quality competition for every single position and some spare for injuries.
At present we have too many who are not up to the task, picking up wages for hee-haw and distinctly no better than on match days.
I appreciate how difficult it is to shift 'deadwood' on decent contracts and unwanted by other clubs, but there may be quite a few leaving anyway - either out of contract, or loan expiring?
There's no doubt we still have the best team in the country by a country mile and there is plenty of young talent available, but it's obvious we have struggled in key areas with injury or we simply lack a bit of quality here and there, so decent new faces are essential as the huge amount of games we play every season really takes it's toll on stamina, form and consistency.

KenlikeEh, until they have done it with The Hoops I meant. We have signed plenty with big reputations that have not lived up to billings, A Balde, Rasmussen, Pukki, even Bayo so far. And a host of others. Shved might be a start, hopefully he will be but at the moment can anyone say that for sure. Mussonda was me at to be dynamite 🤔.

Mussonda is dynamite but is one of those Chelsea academy players that need to get there head out of there own arse! Shved comes from a more humbled background unlike Musonda etc. So I am expecting big things from him and has some left foot on him!
Shved has bigger potential than all players listed. I’m surprised Shakhtar weren’t after him and probably would have been after this season if he hadn’t signed for us already.

Once a boy, do you think the manager at the time and his scouts deliberately bought players that would be worth hee- haw, or did they think they were buying players who they hoped would develop into worth-whle . Think like most clubs they wee hopeful of unearthing gems who could become very useful Celts in the future. Almost every club do the same as Celtic and all finish up with players not good enough . If Celtic are stupid enough to buy 6-8 players in the summer, at least some will be not good enough . We cannot buy every player the finished article.

Hi Chris; at present we have Compper, Hendry, Gamboa, Allen and De Vries who are nowhere near the first team squad.
Add to that Biton, Griffin, Eboue, Arzani and Bayo who are currently unavailable, then there's Mulumbu, Benyu, Shved, Hazard, Miller and Morgan all out on loan; then we have our own imported loans Toljaen, Benkovic, Weah and Burke, who may or may not leave in the summer?
So when we add those to the first team squad from Saturday we have just under 40 players on the books - I think that's far too many?
My point was simply the need to change quantity to quality, while strengthening the positions we are lacking in .

Once a buoy, tell me another club that hasn't a similar number of players they don't want and who they thought would be some use to them . It happens at every club . Why in God's name would Commper leave Celtic to have to play for his keep.

Shved has also had 2 stints abroad with one of them being at Sevilla as a teenager, he has probably matured a bit now and is more ready for making an impact at first team level. Add to that he is playing at a higher level now than the one he is coming to, I think this is an exciting signing and hopefully he comes and does the business 👌.

Chink every signing is an a unknown quantity until you see him so we can only go on his stats as pointed out by Ken so fingers crossed btw Larsson was an unknown quantity.
