Bang on ed. I was in the supermarket this morning with my two daughters getting served at the checkout when a minutes silence stated. , in a feckin supermarket! The girls are aged 6&4 and were larking about having a laugh when I noticed this pr!ck drawing them daggers an shaking his head. I was raging to say the least and had to hold myself back from having a word with him afterwards. Anyway as you say if you want to pay your respects then go to a memorial service. It shouldn't be put on you like that when your going about your daily business

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - You should have pulled your phone and done a Dom Joly, 'HELLO!! AYE AM ON MY MOBILE' at the top of your voice.}

Lol! I would have been lynched ed. old bods whacking me with there sticks and bags!

Ps didn't mean to start a thread!

Just checking our Euro rivals result's. Salzburg got hammered 4v1 today while the other 2 teams drew. Even in the so called best league in the world, only Chelsea managed to get a win. Just shows the difficulty nowadays in trying yo play well in each game even the mega rich teams struggle.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Considering we never arrived home till lunchtime friday the players put in a real shift

KevT and your point is? We all know winning is never easy but that is what we have done season after season. These other teams are not Zceltic. None of them have as many league championship wins, or cup wins as Celtic. So what is your point. No interest in what other teams do. They are not in our league and they are not Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree2

Johnnymac, what is your point .
Celtic are in the midst of rebuilding and to win the match before and after European Games is not easy even for Celtic . What we did ten fifteen or even last year means nothing, every game presents a challenge and over the last eight games or so we have managed not bad .

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Nov 2014 10:33:09
@chris. I am a bit fed up about hearing tosh about Celtic rebuilding. You rebuild once you have lost most of your squad or have had a very poor season. Man United are rebuilding after Sir Alec and coming 7th last season. How can we be rebuilding when we won the league by 29 points? If talk of rebuilding is tosh.

Agree1 Disagree2

Johhnymac, we are rebuilding because we are redesigning the football club .
Our new manager is setting about changing the style and method of play.
It's not continuing with the football of O'Neil, WGS or Lennon . Deila is using the latest techniques in diet and live style, so that Celtic will be able to play tactically like the best in Europe . This will be work in progress for up to two or three seasons . Celtic can adopt the ideas of Deila and feast at the top table on a regular basis. Or should we be happy with the spot light be on us every other season .

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Nov 2014 19:54:35
Chris are you on the Columbian marching powder? We are not rebuilding, already explained that one to you. RD is changing the system and style of play. Whether that will be for the better we won't know until it happens. Is that a season, 2 seasons or never? Who knows. What I do know is that we have not seen signs of this fast positive attacking football he told us about. If You think RD or any other manager is going to get Celtic dining at the top table of European football you are just talking crap. If RD could do that he would not be at Celtic for too long, he would be hired by Man U, Man city or some major club. He may get Celtic playing better but he may not progress past where Lennon took us so please don't start telling me we have found the worlds best manager who is about to make us world beaters

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Nov 2014 20:03:54
Chris we are not rebuilding. RD is trying to get us playing differently. We can dine at the top table in Europe by implementing RD's methods? Chris this guy is untried at any level outside of Norway. Had no European pedigree what so ever. He is still learning his trade. The way you are going on you would think we had Pep Guadiola managing us. We all want him to improve the team. Upto now the jury is out and stupid comments such as by implementing RD techniques we will dine at the top table of European football is just off the wall. I don't think we will even qualify from our EL group.

Agree0 Disagree1

So you don't see the Hoops as a major club Johnny, are you on the right site? I've never heard any Celtic supporter say that before in my puff!

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Nov 2014 20:45:39
Amature learn to read. Where did I say Celtic are not a major club. Show me? What I said was talking about us dining at the top table of European football is saying we are going to compete and beat teams like Real Madrid Chelsea and Barcelona and that's not going to happen any time soon. So don't tell me what I said, just read it or us that too difficult for you?

Agree0 Disagree1

You're a lively one aren't you, who stole the jam out your piece? See the part when you said "he would be hired by Man U, Man city or some major club", right there you said it. I'm saying he's been hired by a major club already, they're called Celtic even though you don't see it like that. As you can see I can read fine but cheers for asking.maybe it's something wrong with your keyboard if it typing things you don't know about. Look here it is again in case you missed it the first time.

"If RD could do that he would not be at Celtic for too long, he would be hired by Man U, Man city or some major club."

I even moved it out from the text for you there, just to be on the safe side. It sounds even worse in the whole sentence, according to you if he does well at Celtic "he would be hired by Man U, Man city or some major club". I say and most Celtic fans would agree with me that he's already at a major club. Can you read all that ok or are you still struggling? (think)

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Nov 2014 21:11:08
Amature just for the record, I don't think we are a major European club anymore. We once were but those days have gone. The best players play at the major European clubs, we don't have one player who would get on the bench at Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Munich, Inter, Man United, PSV or Dortmond to name but a few. Judge a team by it's players not by it's supporters.

Agree1 Disagree1

Man City are anything but a major European team, judge the club not the money.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Nov 2014 21:52:08
Amature you can debate all day long about the choices of Major European clubs, but major European clubs don't sign Tonev, Berget, Wakaso. We are out buying players for £2mill who come into our first team squad. When you are spending £20 mill on a semi regular basis you will be considered as a major club by players and media alike.

Agree1 Disagree0

Clearly if Ronnie is going to achieve anything worthwhile we are not going to see the fruits of it in two or three months . We could have got any loser from Epl or elsewhere to come in and with a few fresh ideas get a short term improvement than what Lennon had, and I suppose Johhnmac you would be shouting from the roof tops how well he is doing .
Johnny Mac, just because you say Ronnie is not rebuilding doesn't mean he isn't . I don't think Peter Lawwell doesn't confide in either of us . Either Deila is rebuilding mentally physically and athletically, or else he is the biggest con-man ever to manage at Celtic Park . Neither of us know how many of the team N Lennon finished the season with, will finish 2015/16, season . However those that will, will certainly have been completely rebuilt in my opinion .

Agree0 Disagree1

Johhnymac - my point was for all the whingers about the performances after Euro games should be happy with a win. Because teams with bigger and better squads and endless amounts of money can't do it. Celtic drawing with Astra is the equivalent of Chelsea drawing with Maribor

I can relate this to the norwegian league and the national team. Egil Olsen was a big reason why norweigan football is what it is. He played zonal defence, with almost only long balls, and good physics. A great example to explain what it did was a player called Sebastian Eguren. Rosenborg bought Eguren, who could be one of norways best imports off all time. But he never got a go at the first team. The reason is that southamerican players like him dosnt have the physics, but extreme tecnical attributes. And when the manager didn't change the tactics for him to shine, he was just tackled, and lost the ball cause of almost no movement and waiting for the long ball from the defence. I don't think he started more that max 10-15 games for Rosenborg in 3-4 seasons. Then he was sold to Sevilla and was Sevilla's best player that year and got the Premiera Divisions player of the year the next season. that's why I think what Deila did with godset was so amacing. Now a lot of other teams are following their revolution, even the national team has got help from the youthsystems in Belgium. Suddenly we have tecnically, smarter players and a lot of youth comming up. I also think the "get rid of chips" speach was a bit about this, and a bit of getting the pressure away from the players. :-)

13 Nov 2014 20:09:28
AH, course Celtic is a top top club in europewise, a grand history not many other clubs possess. You, could call the club a sleeping giant even while being a success in SPL. Reason maybe couse of the struggle at the time is alike the nrowegian side Rosenborg, suddenly didn't win the leauge, losing players to other teams in Norway such as Strømsgodset and suddenly losing money. They were counting in CL money and when the didn't qualify the trouble started. See a bit of the same thing here, but in a bigger scale. Rosenborg after almost ten years, just won the league once, but no CL money.

As no one on here has mentioned it, I feel I have to express my disgust at the small, and it was a small, minority of Celtic fans who did not observe the minute's silence at Pittodrie today.
I want to make it clear these type of fans have no business following our great club if they continue to embarrass both themselves and Celtic Football Club.
I believe the club donated £10,000 via the Celtic Charity Foundation to Poppy Scotland and during the week listed the names of Celtic players who had died while srving their country.
The poppy issue every year seems to embroil Celtic Fc in some controversy and gives our enemies in the press an excuse to write their one sided stories against the club I love.
I say again, I wear a poppy on this day with pride and I always will.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Have you never heard the saying 'I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it' Tim? You're dictating what people should and shouldn't do and who is allowed to follow the club, the wars were fought against exactly what you're doing here, dictating to people what they can say and even think. If you want to pay your respects then go to one of the memorial services not a game of football.
And I want to make it clear it's not your place to say who is and isn't welcome to follow CFC, I think we've got enough people claiming to speak for the support without you joining the clique. Just because you're proud to wear a poppy doesn't mean others need to agree with you, you're as entitled to wear one as other people are entitled not to. The quicker they ban the whole thing from football the better, it's a sham and not worth the hassle it causes every year, I actually find it funny how some CFC fans get their knickers in a twist over the whole thing, some people just need something to feel offended over, and need blow it all out of proportion.}

Well said ed 100% agree nothing to do with football!

Agree2 Disagree1

Edd not often I disagree with you if ever but this time I agree 100% with Tim Football has no place for that sort of thing what those emm people did in the minuets silence is wrong and if you think they were right then you are wrong to in my opinion disrespectful at the least to the millions that were killed for freedom nothing to do with what some people think Catholic v protestant that is so shallow

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - Who's talking about Catholic v Protestant? If you think a football stadium is the right place for this kind of thing there's something wrong with you in the head. These statements from the club's official website contradict everything the poppy stands for today. Note the club didn't have poppies on their strip today, it shows what they think of the whole farce it's became in recent years.

'Celtic Football Club is a Scottish football club with proud Irish links. The primary business of Celtic is as a football club. It is run on a professional business basis with no political agenda. However, the Club has a wider role and the responsibility of being a major Scottish social institution promoting health, well-being and social integration.'

'We ensure that all members of society, irrespective of race, creed or colour, are given equal chance, in line with the club’s own values. The club is open to all and we actively campaign to promote social inclusion and to end discrimination on grounds of race and religious belief.'

'Celtic Football Club is for people who want to support a football club that strives for excellence in Scotland and in Europe, is proud of its history, supportive of its local community and seeks to support the following aims: "To maximise all opportunities to disassociate the Club from sectarianism and bigotry of any kind. To promote Celtic as a Club for all people, regardless of gender, age, religion, race or ability.'

'Celtic is a club for everyone who believes in football as a medium for healthy pleasure, entertainment and social integration. The Club always has been and always will simply aim to be the team of the people.'

We keep getting told politics has no place in football so why's today any different?

I totally agree with you Tim
I did post earlier but it didn't seem to get through.
They have every right not to wear a poppy, or disagree with various wars, but surely they could keep quiet for 60 seconds, in respect for the innocent people who gave their lives in 2 world wars.
The vast majority of these were conscripts, and lots of them were relations of Celtic supporters.
Whether they have a right or not to disrupt the silence, it is surely just human decency to not shout at the dead

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a football match, go to a war memorial if you want to pay your respects, go to Mass and say a prayer, why does everything need to be done in such a pompous attention seeking manner? The whole thing has been hijacked and the true meaning (what Tim and you are talking about) was lost a long, long time ago. As a rule of thumb if Britain's First and confused Neo-Nazis (a poppy and a Nazi salute???) are forcing something on you there's usually something sinister behind it.}

I watched the game on TV and apart from shouting at the start it was silent. As usual it is being blown out of all proportion by the usual suspects.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And a lot of the usual suspects are in our own support.}

09 Nov 2014 22:56:36
ED007 what a sad reply, all I was trying to say was that those fans that booed a minute's silence were wrong, just as you are wrong to make it a personal attack on myself as you have done a couple of times recently simply because I share a different opinion from you good self.
No where in your reply did I see you condemn what happened today, that speaks volumes for you sadly.
I stand myself my opinions and MY RIGHT to express it.
I am big enough to handle all the criticism I get on here but when you resort to silly name calling (in previous posts) and todays outburst you let yourself down.
debate with me not call me names.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Tim if you're coming on giving it the BIG I AM and I think you're wrong I'm going to tell you. You're the one on here saying who should and shouldn't be following the club and trying to preach right and wrong, as long as it's right to you though. There's people out there that would say you shouldn't be following the club because you're wearing a poppy and they'll think they're right. I think both of you are wrong for the simple reason, none of it has anything do with football? It's a total crock of $hit to me and to see grown men acting the way they do about (from both sides of the coin) is laughable to me when there's far more important things going on in the world.
I've mellowed in my old age and I'm a peaceful type of guy who is actually against war - I don't see the need to celebrate it, it's all for show and it's nothing more meaningless twaddle. If you want to pay your respects go to an appropriate place and do it, forcing people at a football match to do something they don't want to do isn't going to make any difference, they'll still send more and more young lads to die over £ and oil. I'm also a great believer in free speech, something you have advocated yourself in regards to the Green Brigade and our support, why so different over this? You can't just pick and choose whether you are for free speech. So no I'm not condemning or condoning anybody, I'm saying everyone is allowed their opinion and allowed to express it, it's one of our human rights, it's one of the things soldiers died for.
I've got uncles on my mam's side who served in the Army, one of them was so messed up in the head when he got out he committed suicide only weeks after leaving his regiment, a couple of his fellow squaddies turned up for his funeral and that was it, after 22 years serving that was all the contact the family had with the Army apart from a letter a few weeks later telling his wife they were stopping paying her his pension thing leaving her with 3 young kids to try and bring up in the shithole Scotland was in the late 80s. I pray for him every week at Mass, not just once a year and I doubt he cares if I wear a poppy or not. If a government takes the decision to send young men to fight in illegal wars over £ and oil the least they should do is look after the families of those who die and help those that are injured in action, they shouldn't need to rely on charity.
Just like people can't force their opinion on you, Tim, you can't force yours on others
It's ok though, I've checked and poppies don't affect asthma so we're covered for that one.}

I think your getting your poppies mixed up with the minutes silence, I don't agree with the poppy appeal, cause I think the goverment should look after ex servicemen without any need to resort to charity, but that's different with the minutes silence, and what's politics got to do with it?, are'nt the only ones being political the ones that break the silence cause they make it seem like you are supporting the goverment by being silent rather than remembering a fallen relation.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The whole thing is a sham to get money out of you, I'm not getting anything mixed up, it's all just parts of the same machine, a money making machine. War in itself is political and if you can't see why remembering dead soldiers isn't a political statement I'm not going to explain it. Do you believe all this pro-British anti-Muslim feeling happened by accident? The point is that none of it has any place in a football ground. If people want to wear a poppy and a cilice to show their respect then that's up to them, if people don't then that's up to them as well, I have no problem with either. If your fallen relation means that much go and pay your respects at an appropriate place, a football ground isn't an appropriate place to do it IMO.
Some of the BS I've read today makes it look like today's kick-off time didn't suit people going to a memorial service or their local cenotaph(??). I'm not saying who's right or wrong, all I'm saying is that it has no place at a football match, we got by fine for years without it so why is it so important now? I can't remember anything like this happening in the 80's or 90's. yet all of a sudden we must do this and that like everyone else is doing or else. I prefer keeping personal and emotional stuff to myself, I don't need to stand in a football stadium to remember what's went before us, football is meant to be the working man's escape from the $hitty reality of life. I go to Mass to pray, it's more appropriate.}

Silences themselves just promote the wrong idea, force everyone to join in or its ruined. would be like having a minutes applause and then getting angry when someone didn't join in. or forcing everyone to sing the national anthem at scotland games

im sure they are great at the right place mind, just not in events like football.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's far too sensible, you're getting a yellow card for that.}

Ed I agree exactly with all you have posted re- poppy appeal and observance of silence . Soldiers fought 1914-18 and 1939-45 for freedom . Now people want to prevent people from having choice whether to observe a silence or not . I have my reasons for neither contributing or observing but I think that is my right.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's everybody's right, Chris, and nobody should be bullied into doing something they don't want to do just to appease the bleeding heart masses. Everyone has their own personal reasons for doing things, it's a modern thing to need to shout it from the rooftops what your reasons are. The only people you need to justify yourself to is yourself, your wife and your God, everybody else's opinion, including mine, is irrelevant.}

How very apt we should mention freedom of speech but fail to mention remembering those who defeated Hilter and gave us that right.

Where and on what occassions the victims of war should be remembered is not the arguments here, nor was the actual wearing of a poppy, it was fools disrepsecting a minutes silence which is quite simply good manners.

They were an embarrassment to themselves, the rest of the support and the Club. If you had any respect at all for peace, you would not have considered this. It was the upmost disrespectful thing to do and up there with the crass display that went on at another Glasgow football club that many Celtic fans mention.

Have we also now fallen that low we consider making fun of an illness/disability banter?

What an utterly shameful thread this is and Tim - you would have been better not mentioning the embarrassment, it went without saying most decent fans and the ones who really do want to live peacefully were cringing.

Just wanted to raise a few points:

1. The second world war was not about stopping the Nazis, despite what the revisionists would have us believe. It was about Imperialism, either by acquiring new territories or fighting to retain the ones you already had. Remember, the concentration camps and ethnic cleansing did not come to light until after the war.

2. The poppy and remembrance day is no longer just about veterans from the world wars. It now includes veterans from all conflicts since world war 1. This paradigm shift was deliberate and was devised to try and stop people showing their anger towards veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

3. Just because it is state sponsored killing does not make it right. The British Armed Forces have killed hundreds of thousands innocent people across the globe and as a result have put us all at risk of terrorist attacks.

With that being said, I would like to ask people angry at our fans not respecting the minutes silence a simple question. If you had been beaten, tortured, intimidated or killed by the British Armed Forces, would you be bullied into showing respect when you go to watch your football team play? What to remember is that some of our fans lived through the troubles in Ireland and either them, their friends or family have been victims of the British Armed Forces. Even many of our Scottish fans have friends and family who have been victims of British atrocities.

Agree2 Disagree1

Its as if you didn't read the very first sentence ed wrote in his reply. No one is saying we agree with the people who choose not to remain silent. just that its not up to us to decide what they do

Agree1 Disagree1

If you had been beaten, tortured, intimidated or killed by the British Armed Forces, would you be bullied into showing respect when you go to watch your football team play - who bullied anyone? There was a choice here.

What would I do - I would not show up at a match in November, make a wee noise then go back to using their free education, healthcare, welfare state, social housing etc. So you can see why many have a issue with these 'principles'

Whoever made the noise are anonymous to most and the world just sees it as a 'Celtic fan' -thats how sh*tty their principles are.

^^^^^^^ This post was brought to you by Mrs MDMA on behalf of UKIP. If you don't agree with the numerous illegal wars and invasions the British Army have done you shouldn't be using the NHS or our schools that's Scotland in 2014 for you. Mrs MDMA can be spotted down the Louden on a Friday night, gouching out her tree waving an Israeli flag and leading a staunch rendition of the Famine Song screeching about the Poles and Muslims "coming over here and taking our jobs, claiming benefits, using our nhs resources." I can see it in hospitals already "so You've got cancer have you, before we treat you we need to ask you a couple of questions, I'll get your name later but first the important stuff Q1. Do you wear a poppy? Q2. Were you born in this country? Q3. What school did you go to? Q4.. what did your family do in the war,any war will do as long as someones done something in the Falklands, Iraq Ireland or Afghansitan? What do you mean you're family came over here to escape a BritUSA illegal invasion of your country and don't give me this bull about the invaders bombing your village or killing your friends and family, where's your f&^5ing poppy! Sorry we can't help you then, don't they have doctors in your own country?" I'll tell you, Some folk on here have some neck on them lol

There are an awful lot of media pundits starting to look very stupid now with their comments about Deila over the last few months. Absolutely terrific performance today considering how hit and miss we've been at times, Aberdeen away is always tricky and a potntial banana skin so to go down to 10 men at 1-1 and still win the match shows the strength of character that is developing in the team, I'd say we've started to looked more like a team over the past couple of weeks. I wonder if Chris Sutton still reckons Deila is delusional?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

09 Nov 2014 19:11:13
Seriously? Absolutely terrific performance? If that's the standard of play we are happy with then we have big problems! Don't get me wrong I'm delighted with the result but our play is boring, slow, predictable. Two holding midfielders who constantly give the ball away. Johansson plays in spells but disappears for long periods, though I do like him in his advanced role. I've always said give RD time and stand by that but never in a million years is that a terrific performance!

Agree3 Disagree1

Amateur it's not only the damned Scottish Media who need to take a look at themselves . Some of own posters have been far too early to judge him .
It's evident he has the travelling support and the players backing .
He is getting there, a great result coming from behind in a place that wasn't exactly Celtic friendly

Considering we were sitting at 1-1 and down to 10 men and went on to win the game get 3 points and go top of the league I'd say that's a terrific performance.

What we need to remember here is that we had a game on Thursday, players got back Friday afternoon. So we are lucky if we got 1 day to train for this match. It is common for teams to drop points after a midweek game and we were playing at the hardest venue, against probably the next best team in the league, who were fired up for the match.

While it was far from our best performance, I thought we controlled the match for large periods, although Aberdeen did look dangerous on the break. Delighted with the result and the performance was probably as good as could be expected considering the circumstances.

Well it would be churlish of me not to congratulate Deila on a good away win at a difficult venue and after a tiring journey home and an earlier than usual kick off.
Also good to see Forrest back and Mathews, hope they both remain injury free.
I thought we rode our luck at times, but team kept battling away and now we are back top of league.
Ronnie targeted December to get back top, but he has managed it a month early well done.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought Mathews was poor Tim, bottled out a 50/50 to give them possession for the goal, albeit Mulgrew gave the ball away, and seemed scared to go through players as he should.

Agree1 Disagree0

Absolutely delighted with that result.
After their long trip to Romania on Thursday, I would probably have taken a point today, so to come back from a goal down, and then win it after Scott Brown was sent off showed great character.
Well done to Ronny Deila, and the players

Agree1 Disagree0

I was disappointed with Matthews too, does he need more game time or is it something else?
Prefer to linger over the will to win plus the beautiful first goal by Johanson .
Team spirit and club spirit certainly back big time .

Agree0 Disagree0

We are in a good place right now ,considering most knew the cl qualifiers came too early and we fell short of them ,the board then let rd down badly in the window and need to back him for real in the windows ahead, he also seems to have relaxed his strict 433 to adapting/adopting a system to beat the next specific opponont , sign of a good coach? imo yes has the football been great, no. has it been efficient mostly, can it get better, hopefully.but we are heading in the right direction anyway ,and long may it continue

Agree0 Disagree0

Deep river bhoy . It's always easy to blame the board . Remember Deila came into Celtic, towards the end of June in a World Cup year. It wasn't easy for Ronnie to educate himself in the strengths and weaknesses of the Celtic squad, then he had to see what was available I am not sure that last summer was ever going to be a time for Deila to get his players . Next summer hopefully.

First of all to Neil McCann EBT - and his twisted wee bitter face . GIRUY!

Secondly, that was a very important three points at the most hostile place in the SPL right now.
Everyone and their dug knew Slug mark 2 would have the mutton molesters well up for this and at times we were very sluggish and laboured in possession. Zaluska made a howler and there were a good few not in the game like Mulgrew, Mathews, Forrest and Stokes but VVD, Denayer and Johansen played very well. Brown was unlucky but he was walking a tightrope after so many fouls conceded and in fact Izzy was lucky not to see red too for over reacting. Delighted with a win - if not the performance once again; and to see RD showing an adrenalin rush of his own and I would love to see more passion like that from him as he begins to realise what our club is all about and how many want us to fail at every turn.

I don't think many Celtic fans would think Izzy was lucky not to be sent off.
Izzy reacted very timidly .
I thought Brown's second yellow was very harsh . I thought McGinn should have been carded for stimulation .
A very good fighting performance after the long journey from Romania .
The Ronnie out brigade will need to ease off now .

Is this a pivotal moment in this season? Seems to me that a lot of players looked like they have discovered what it means to play for Celtic. Fair play to RD as well, still looking to win the game with a man down and ten to go, is that not what a Celtic manager should be doing? I thought we handled the speed of Aberdeen on the counter exceptionally well, even after gifting them a goal. A bit disappointed with the sheepies who seemed to try and frustrate us by playing on the break. Bottom line, a rake of games and finishing with a win at the pit o' drie. Outstanding.

Honestly thought Celtic played well today.
Passion shown at the end let's the fans see
that the managers and players are all in
it together. In RD we trust. Hail Hail

Devoid of ideas. Constantly giving the ball away. Passionless. I'm sick of watching it. Markie

Dont forget these guys played on Thursday, late flight home on Friday whereas Aberdeen had it easy. We struggled at times but won again. Loads of passion showed at the end of the game.

Got out of Jail today IMO, bit of luck involved in both our goals but happy to be at the top of the league :-)

I hope you reconsider that post Markie. Brilliant result from ten men. don't forget this is against the fastest strike force in the league and we still went to win it. outstanding.

last minute winner wipes away the poor performance surely. Keep up the winning ways and also means in future games we will be more likely to believe that a goal is coming.
I only saw the second half though so maybe can't fully comment. how did Forrest play? Glad to see him back

Great result. Last minute goal papered over the cracks of the performance. I thought we were very poor. Markie.

How many games is that Craig Gordon's missed with niggling injuries already and we aren't even into the worst of the winter weather? It's starting to look like the people who questioned the decsion to sign him might have a point. We should go on to win this game now though and getting the 3 points is the important thing today.

Zakuska has played 3 times this season, Gordon played all the other games. To leave him out today would suggest there is a problem. Great pity if there is as he has been excellent for us.

I think they are managing a situation. We are not aware of the medics reports etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Gordon woke up with a 'stiff neck', that's why he missed today's game. Last weekend he missed the game with a twinge in his knee and RD said something about Gordon knows his body and we need to listen to him. What medical examination is going to pick up a twinge in your knee, especially when you've not mentioned anything about it until the morning of a match?
That's last week, this week and against Motherwell earlier in the season (after a EL game as well) Gordon has turned up and declared himself not fit to play, to miss a game because of a twinge in his knee shows the confidence Gordon has in his own body these days, and weren't we told his knees were fine? Can he only play one game a week? If that's the case he's no use to CFC with the amount of games we expect to play this season in the league, cups and Europe.
They might be managing a situation, GJ, but the situation is the club's own making and as the winter kicks in and pitches get harder with ice/frost I expect Gordon will miss a good few more games over the next couple of months, especially if the club continue to allow him to decide himself if he's fit enough or not.}

If you had listened to commentator you would have heard him say Craig Gordon had a stiff neck, we all get them from time to time.i have to say what a joke getting a second yellow for McGinn diving, also Logan red carded after the game for foul and abusive language.killy.

{Ed007's Note - Aye those stiff necks are a killer, players miss games with them all the time. (rofl) The word hypochondriac springs to mind, what'll it be next week, an exploding egg?}

A stiff neck! Is this a viagra related injury?

Bleedin ticked off to be missing my fav away game but the leader of the opposition is having none of it sadly. I would hope RD goes with a straight 4-4-2 and presses them from the off, but I doubt he will. Having said that the system with Johanson pressing from middle to front has looked pretty effective most of the time.

My big worry is the centre back pairing, they still seem to be open to a straight through ball, and with the pace of McGinn and Pawlett that could be troublesome added to Rooney playing a bit deeper to create space for them.One thing is certain we need to be on it from the first minute, we really don't want to go one down up there. The full backs will be key I think. It seems every team sees Izzy as a weak link, with some justification to be fair. Lustig is more reliable and at 20-1 I got him as first scorer, so fingers crossed.

My big hope is the GB and others respect the minutes silence, make no mistake plenty will be watching and listening for a chance to lay into our club. Should be a cracking game and I would like nothing better than to stick it right up the apprentice ally.
