just saw this quote from stockbridge on the scotsman website.
"Most of the rumours circulating are malicious and designed to destabilise. Fans need clarity and to know there is nothing untoward in the company - and there isn't. " (Sunday Mail).

now is that as conscious use of a double negative or is he just dumb?

If Neil Lennon leaves to take the Everton manager's job then I think we could do worse than take a look at Morten Wieghorst! He is a former player who served us well for 6 years, as a manager starting out, he took unfashionable Nordsjaelland from mid table obscurity to the Danish title and qualification for the Champions League group stages before leaving to take charge of Denmark's U21 team and be Michael Laudrup's No2 at Swansea City! To throw a name into the ring if NL does goes what about Billy Stark. Done a great job with the 21's and has the experience of being with the club under Tommy Burns.

Is David Moyes the best guy for the job, for some reason AF thinks so and you can bet your last quid the deal with Moyes was done a weeks ago. No CL experience, neither did Neil Lennon and don't forget AF is going nowhere for a while.

Moyes plays dire football, really? Not according to the God of football, so what does he see in him that all the football experts/managers behind a keyboard don't? AF has also admitted he tried to poach him as an Assistant in 1998.

It took guts to take over from AF and I can't believe the negative comments. Mourinho, needs no introduction but would have stayed 2 or 3 seasons, split the dressing room as per usual then walked away with his bottom lip out.

There is huge, massive pressure on Moyes and its good to see him get this opportunity but he's not shied away from it. He worked miracles at Everton on a very restricted budget, particularly in EPL terms, after Walter Smith and as the saying goes, you can only work with the tools you have. I would say uses the wings and plays football on the pitch where its supposed to be played. No idea where this lobbing it up the park is coming from. 4-4 is playing defensively? (I know only one game but a least its an example).

He plays better football than he is given credit for and there has only been a net spend per season of 800,000 over the past 5 years, yes the top half of the EPL on that budget is a failure!

Is Neil Lennon leaving, I would like to see him achieve the elusive treble first and reckon it would take a lot to prise him away from Celtic this summer but he's a better bet than Martinez who constantly plays just to avoid relegation (at least Moyes aims & achieves the top half)

Love Roy Keane but he's destroyed teams as a manager, Mick McCarthy is a big dull dud, Owen Coyle had his chance and none of them really make me feel excited.

I know respect has to be earned but I'd love to know what Moyes has done to earn such disrespect before a ball has been kicked for season 2013/14?

Just had a text from a mate giving a shout to Levien if Lenny goes. A real left fielder if there was one, but totally out of the question? I think he was linked with us before. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - What have I told you all about mixing with The Rangers/Sevco fans?}

If and only if Lenny decides to go I would like to see Malkay Makay or Martin O Neill at the helm.
Hope Lenny stays for many more years though

ED007; Interesting to see you mention Keane for the Celtic job if Lenny went. Would that not be a bit like the Moyes situation? Would he be ready for managing Celtic? There is also the famous Keane temper to take into account! Interesting shout though ED. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I just think he would be in contention if the job came up.}

I cannot believe some of the posts in this thread, the guy and his family has devoted their lives to this club and people are saying move on. He's been through a shocking time and still he's here fighting. He wanted to bring the thunder back and he has, well done Lenny!

Amazing. Spivs and conmen swarming all over their club, enquiries into possible finance and licence breaches and money sliding out the door like keech off a dyke. But Neil Lennon going to England has some of the new clubs fans all lathered up. Popcorn teeth or crushed whelk teeth (?) as he is known to some of the peepul, is a bad manager who will be found out. It used to be what he wore that got them all hot and bothered now it's dentistry! Honestly, I blame the education system. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Well they can't slag his appearance when their own manager looks like the local jakey going to court on match-day can they?}

Ed just Say Lenny was to leave for Everton ( God Forbid ) Who would you like to see come in to replace him? Henrik, O'Neill, maybe even Roy Keane :) I think its important we get someone who knows what Celtic means to the supporters? {Ed007's Note - Out of the realistic targets my heart says Keane but my head would have to say Owen Coyle.}

Well ED it's happened, Moyes is your man. What I find incredible is he somehow wangled a SIX year contract! You got to think he will be on at least £4m per year. To my mind he is never in that category. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - He will be on at least that, Everton were offering him £4m :-(

Bored at work so doing some digging around on The Rangers, Rangers, RIFC, Sevco or whatever they are calling themselves.

I think I have worked out how Chuckles has duped the zombies into thinking they are the same company. It is all down to Limited and PLC on the end of company names.

Here goes I will try to explain this as best I can.

Old Rangers
Previous name was The Rangers Football Club PLC. Incorporation date 27th May 1899
New name is R. F. C 2012 PLC Changed 31st July 2012
So old Rangers were registered as The Rangers Football Club PLC when going into liquidation. It was then changed to R. F. C 2012 PLC once in liquidation.

RIFC PLC
Are a stand alone company with no child companies. Incorporation date 16th Nov 2012 as Rangers Football PLC. Name then changed to RIFC PLC on 27th Nov 2012.
Note the difference Rangers Football PLC and THE Rangers Football CLUB PLC.

Sevco Scotland
Incorporation date 29th May 2012. Name changed to The Rangers Football Club LIMITED on yes you guessed it 31st July 2012.

When you look at the directors for Old Rangers none of the directors at Sevco Scotland have ever been a director of RFC 2012 PLC.

So how I see it Chuckles has duped them with the adding of Limited on his Rangers so that the name looks the same apart from PLC & Limited.

All very cunning but easy to see when you look into it.

Now I am no journalist but I have managed to find this information quite easily why can't the MSM find this also. Or have they and they don’t want to tell anyone.

Ed, you know all things Manchester United quick question are they the only top flight club in England or Scotland that have only ever been managed by someone born in the British Isles (I include Ireland in that)?

If it is Moyes they choose that would be an unbelievable stat.

Cheers
CeltStu {Ed007's Note - Off the top of my head, Everton are in the same boat.}

'Suffering a seizure as boss of East Fife was nothing compared to the stress Ally McCoist has faced'. This was the headline on a piece in the Record today. The article, which never gave a clue as to who penned it, took me by surprise.

As someone who has witnessed at close hand the effects of sudden heart problems, I was appalled that Gordon Durie, on whom the story related to, would say such a stupid thing. He compared a sudden closing down of one side of his body leading to a collapse in front of his players, to a millionaire manager of a football club having a few problems.

Gordon Durie never asked for his seizure. McCoist decided to stick himself in front of every media outlet he could during his new clubs problems. Gordon Durie collapsed and frightened the life out of his family. McCoist was hitching his wagon to anyone wearing brown brogues who pitched up at Ibrox. McCoist's stress was self induced due to his own agenda to be seen as Mr rangers, Duries was not.

Naturally enough, on seeing the headline, I thought how crass it was to trivialise a heart condition by ranking it with a millionaire losing his job. On reading though the story became clear.

Durie explains how he is now, thankfully, close to where he was, and after a check up everything seems fine. But it is near the end of this terrible piece the truth surfaces, the Record not for the first time are caught pushing their pro rangers agenda.

Once again they claim that The rangers were 'PUT IN SCOTTISH FOOTBALLS BOTTOM TIER' How many times are they going to claim this? Then you get to Durie's actual quote. 'I was a part time manager for a short spell and had to deal with a lot of stress, but it was nothing compared to what he had to put up with'.

You see the difference? Durie is clearly comparing the stresses of MANAGEMENT. Not comparing McCoist's position to a heart attack. Is Traynor still running things at the Record? To blatantly alter the facts of a story in such a way is a disgrace. No wonder it was an unnamed piece. I would urge any Celtic fans, if there are any left who actually buy this, to blank it now. Let the The rangers fans keep this shocking excuse for a newspaper afloat. green jhedi
