I am a Rangers fan (female), married to a Celtic fan and I just want to say, guys come on and stop this - I am grateful that there are people sleeping soundly in their beds tonight for the first time in months knowing that their jobs/mortgages/kids lifestyles etc are safe right now from the threat of imminent redundancy. So, all the banter etc is fine, but inject a bit of humanity into your jelly and icecream please and think on if it was you with that hanging over you!!

Paul Murray and the American Tanned Tights will only buy Rangers if they are guarenteed they wont go into liquidation.....well thats burst that bubble..hahahha. and am i not right that not even hours ago all the rangers fans were on their condolences pages trying to come up with plans to bump Ticketus, minutes later theyre lauding them as saviours......Desperate, pathetic parasites. its getting funnier by the hour. Supposedely Paul Murray, Ticketus
are joining up to "save" the rowing
club, a wee question or two? Is this
not the same Paul Murray who was on
board during all these EBT's, would he
not be banned from joining board of
the rowing club, are SPL going to
look to see if he is "fit and proper"
with Ticketus coming on board, they
are obviously trying to protect their
investment and the BIG question
how can anybody buy the rowing club
when they do not know how much it
will cost as big tax case still not
issued its verdict.... Timalloy

Simples a deal will be struck with HER Majesty allowing a CVA AS Long a there is a change of Regime enabling Rangers to keep their history unlike Celtic we wont have to steal another clubs history "that's all you are a stolen star, that's all yous are a stolen star" maybe you can swap it for the asterix you will get with this years title and nobody will notice

Does anyone else think that this guy whyte at rangers is being used as a front - take the fall and the good guys ie Murray etc coming riding in to be the good guys and shuts gets a few million quid.
Ticketus vouching for Murray n co as new owners
Who would seriously loan a company that everyone knows wad going into administration.
Where were these 7 potential owners for the last 3 years when David Murray was trying to sell this mob for £1.
Feel that Rangers are total cheats and should be kicked out of Scottish football. Every club has been chasing rangers over the years and getting into financial trouble whilst they are cheating the tax man

Awww didhums.

If rangers stay in the spl without penalties or without paying back what they owe then the integrity of scottish football is in question. If rangers then return as a force in scottish football then all other clubs should quit the spl and form their own league. Only rangers fans believe rangers should escape unpunished, the question is integrity or titles. I would prefer Celtic to lose the league 10 seasons in a row than to win it once dishonestly. Can rangers fans say the same or is the win at all costs philosophy not just the boards. Would love to hear just 1 rangers supporter admit that whats happened to their club at the moment is the punishment for ill advised decisions made over many years(Not by Rangers fans but just a couple of bad apples on the board).
Agree2
Disagree0
Until the big taxcase is decided then we can't comment on any apparent "ill advised" decisions. The only one we can speak of Craig Whyte and his decision to take over the club and run up a £9m tax debt.
I think, in time, all clubs and creditors who are owed money from Rangers will receive all monies owed.
We haven't won anything dishonestly. Everything we won was by playing 11 v 11. We didn't always win things did we? You are implying that Rangers cheated to win, if that was the case then I am pretty sure they would have won a whole lot more titles, trophies etc than they did.

Well, what did we learn today? Rangers can fulfill their fixtures (awfully nice of them), their fans seem to think they're now safe (dilluded) and it's all great from here on in. Well from the press conference I just saw, Rangers are STILL in a 'periless position', and their players have had there wages slashed. No one will buy them, not in this state, duff and phelps alone cost £1m a month, and they will be there a while yet. And yet all the fools on the south side seem to think it's sorted. Roll on the 25th, when cold harsh reality kicks in, prolonged pain and a slow death is the only thing I see.

Evening bhoys/ghirls I was just going
to talk about our cup game (now next post)
but one of my bear pals, showed me
an article by followfollow, about the
dougie/dougie issue LAST season and
they even produced GRAPHS to show
that Celtic were treated more leniently
by refs, sfa etc.., now call me cynical,
but per chance does any body think
they may just be trying to stop the
torches being shone on THEIR CORRUPT
club....
Now we have chick, traynor etc..
telling everybody, and their dog, what
great people the players are for taking
a pay cut, er yes only THREE WEEKS
later, and with clauses, and only
because they were out the door if
they did not, what noble, noble players.
Then we heard about the TREASURY
telling HMRC to do a deal to save
the famous rowing club, who are up
the creek without paddles, as Whyte
feckin SOLD them also.
Are bears really so gullible, are our
journalists, the Treasury doing a deal
even though NO DECISION from the
big tax case is known or for HOW MUCH..
In the name of the wee man (sorry Pat)
how can you do a deal when nobody
knows how much the final amount
owed is.....

I used to just wear it for the match and then take it off and put it away until the next time. A two horse race at the top of the Prem and we ended up 4th because she washed my top and we lost most of our games afterwards! Mind, if we win I will be expecting you to bet against us every week......}

Just read an article in Celtic Quick regarding the state this leagues in.I would urge EVERY Celtic fan to have a look. If,as the article says, these other clubs are gonna roll over and let "newco" straight back into the SPL we must mobilise. How can a league system have ANY credibility if this happens? They call for a boycott on ALL away games, while i normally would disagree with this,in this case it is surely justified.Just have a look on the rankers pages, the "we are the peepil" attutude is alive and kicking. If these other chairmen are so desperate to have a lying, cheating and rule breaking club for their cash the answer is simple. Dont give them ours!Sky's power is on the wane, streaming rights is the thing of the future.Lets send them a message loud and clear.A level playing field or we will not be attending your ground again. We rightly take pride in the way the Celtic family look after our own, well if somebody tries to turn your family over you unite against them.We must stand shoulder to shoulder on this, lets spend our hard earned cash on Celtic and NO ONE else.Time to fight back bhoys and ghirls, united there is no stronger support than ours.Step up and show it. A Tim.

If it can be shown he acted outside the law, they will be able to claim their money back from him. Otherwise he is safe. To put the latest news into laymans terms for some that may not understand Scottish law
C.Whyte has breached the purchase agreement by not paying £33mill into club and his shares have been repossessed much like our homes would be if we didnt keep up repayments and any payments made are forfeited
The Ticketus deal was Illegal under Scottish law it is Illegal to buy a company with a companies own assets and he would have to have asked 42500 season ticket holders for permission in the first place That deal is between C.Whyte and Ticketus as it was struck on 7th April nearly a month before he took over at RANGERS!!
As for HMRC dont do deals most famous football one was Arsenal £100Mill (+) owed settled out of court for an undisclosed amount believed to be £10mill and the fact they have sent settlement letter to 100s of companies who operated tax management schemes proves different
wouldn't be too down hearted yet there is a lot worse news to come

Catching up on recent events i scanned the wake pages. All of a sudden, after three weeks of calling them every name under the sun(no pun intended)the red tops are great again.Their pages are alive with tales of HMRC deals, buyers from every continent and wonderfull players taking huge wage cuts. All this from the same hacks who were lying, cheating, timmy friendly scumbags! Now far be it from me to pee on their bonfire but, does it really say anything different? 1# The only direct statement re the tax case(small) is HMRC may do a percentage deal,it might be ten or forty or one hundred percent, they dont know. 2# The players are being hailed as heroes for accepting a wage cut. Before carrying them shoulder high to their mercs and beemers lets find out the terms of the deals ie,future sell on price, percentage of transfer etc. 3# All these potential buyers, well lets hope the now friendly tabloids do some research instead of the off the radar wealth agent whyte had..Ihave always stated that i never wanted rankers out of buisness, just punished appropriately. But before having a party i think fans should find out some more facts, this is Duff & Phelps remember.......green jhedi
Believable2

Mr jhedi i agree to a point, my understanding was the players would take the hit if only it was going to save other jobs(mind you lafferty does like his bentleys)and would hope this is the case... other point would be me, you and everybody elses dog could of told craig shyte that if he walked things might get a bit better as it seems that hmrc rightly so wanted to hammer him, my team must pay what they owe but its obvious they would deal with somebody who is above board and not trying to screw them... my mood is lighter this morning because ive been fed sh1t for the past 3 weeks but im holding off the party just now, we r still in the sh1t but its starting slowly to lower.. craig+babybear p.s me and my fellow fans are happy at the mo because whyte will be forced to jog on, thats why im happier ... so we might see you at our place on the 25th 10- 0 to us lol

Got a feeling they are going to wriggle themselves out of their mess and get off scot free. What you think Ed? {Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure that some way out will be found, not sure it will be scot free though.}

breaking news the scottish sun have confirmed that tax man will do a deal with rangers should final tax liability crystalise and go against the club ...desicion has been taken at highest level for any prospective new owners to carry forward their interest in buying rangers from administrators..on the understanding a cva is agreed with all creditors including hmrc...looks like a quick turnaround of luck ....unbelievable .if that were any other team they would have gone to the wall

The percentage of the deal still remains up in the air though. The most worrying thing,if true,is it was agreed at treasury level.Be interesting to see the deals the players cut to take the hit......green jhedi

Amazing what a funny handshake can do! {Ed001's Note - actually it is standard practice in a case of unmanageable debt to make a deal.}

Still a lot of things to come out of this, and i would not rely to much on anything that the papers say

Funny that as you all relied on what the papers were saying when they were sounding the death bells for rangers

Anyone know why only the 10 SPL
clubs are having a meeting about
changes to Scottish football. We
are top of this league and for the
moment Rangers are still in it.
Thought we lived in a democrasy.

(ed, i posted the following, but meant to do it in a new thread as it was a sortof sidepoint to the OP. do u mind reposting it in a new thread? and delete the old one and this note? if its too much hassle, no worries if you wont i probably wouldnt lol but if you dont ask you dont ge thanks whatever the outcome, love the platform you guys and gals give us on these sites)
From further down craig+babybear made a good point and i cannot really disagree, it is a case of the other 10 spl clubs repositioning themselves in self interest and i certainly dont blaim them in some ways.
However they should not be able to do this without every member at the table , including rangers as they are still chugging along in a way.
Whats irked me is this is the same clubs (on the most part) who helped develop the SPL and put its rules in place. The 11-1 vote allows for any club to veto, not just the old firm. There has never been anything to stop Hearts and Hibs voting against the way that money should have been allocated from any incoming revenues. Yet year on year we hear complaints on how unfair it is on them and favours the old firm.Yes i know the old firm have come together on many issues however there are plenty other things that have been voted through. Surley the only rule that should be put in place or any changes to come from this meeting are that votes will only be taken by member clubs on changes that are to the benefit of every team in the league.. or along those lines ( too late to think stuff through coherently)
So lets be honest here, The old firm are the draw in scottish football end of. An SPL without both would generate TV revenue similar to the welsh or irish legues ( well maybe a tad more if im being honest). I think this is disgusting behaviour by these 10 members and would feel the same way if celtic were in rangers position and rangers were being out manouvered and out voted on purley the basis of old firm dominance. What does that statement actually mean? does it mean dominance in terms of money? well celtic and rangers have the largest fan base and stadia and have reputations worldwide ( being a bhoy myself and a self professed realist i have to say celtic are the biggest in this department but this is beside the point) so how can other clubs say that they deserve more of the pot when they cannot put in or bring in nearly as much as either of the old firm combined!. Or is this about trophys? if it is my point from further down stands regarding the manner in which these clubs go about their business. So what does this statement mean? more clarification needed. i think.
I beleive in an equal and fair society and i also beleive in sport each participant should via the rules of said sport be allowed a fair crack at the whip to try and compete. If the rules were purley to suit Celtic or Rangers this is inherantly wrong (and in some ways they are, i did say i am trying to be honest lol) and there are some aspects of the rules that can be construed in this fasion however it still took the other SPL members to enforce any changes in rules etc that have apparently allowed old firm dominance.
In my view this is the same old problems of scottish football coming to the fore. Self interest, petty and not seing the bigger picture. Which in terms of the game as a whle in scotland my club has been guilty of at times as have rangers, hearts, hibs etc etc etc. This does not excuse this sort of behaviour however in light of the goings on at Rangers we should all as a nation put aside our Green/Maroon/tangereen etc glasses and seek input from all parties and decide whats in the best interests for every single club in association football in Scotland. Otherwise all our so called brave new world ideas on youth development etc will be for absolutley nothing as the same twisted and arse backwards trades of thought will govern our clubs and our game. Should Rangers cease to be ( and looks more and more likley each day) then a lot of this positioning and self interest will come to the fore again. Dont get me wrong we are all out looking for number one and all our clubs look this way. But what is an association that is only interested in the best interests of its own first and everything else is ignored. It should be set up in a way that says no the strength of the brand and the product of the association comes first, individual worries come after this. I feel a simple change in philosophy will bring so many more positives than all the bickering, finger pointing ( mainly at the old firm) and could usher in a new area where we grow in strength in a mutual and helping manner, yet keep that competitive edge and allow larger clubs to reap the rewards of their labour yet have everyone living in their means ( which to be said is happening more in the SPL these days with 2 exceptions, we all know who they are).
So in essence these sorts of meetings are fine, but every member should always be involved in the meeting and any desicions made should be to the benefit of all and not to punish individuals unless they have acted disgracefully in certain manners ( no fingers being pointed there lol)
Ok im gonna stop... for now, im reverting to my old ways of mammoth posts! Apologies for any errors i cant be bothered proof reading lol

Agree Celtic should be involved in discussions, not so sure though about your neighbours considering what they have been up to, so apologise for the way this is being handled . However more TV income for the smaller clubs = better players = better games and therefore a better more competetive/league which has got to be a benefit to all concerned considering that we are all and will continue to be stuck in the SPl together. Congrats on your well deserved title win

Having lurked around these pages for quite some time now, I have decided to have my say.
I am a Celtic supporter of some 25 years, I dont get to very many games but I am a Celtic man through and through. I have no Irish heritage and I am a protestant through christening only. My family are Rankers supporters and I have their respect about my choice of team. We live in a fairly mixed community and I have friends, good friends, of both "persuasions".
The current situation with the other lot has fascinated me for the last few weeks and having been following the pages for the duration it has occured to me that I represent a minority in such that;
1. I believe that Scottish football need s an old form to be competative and that they are the primary selling point of the SPL to outside markets
2. That the Rankers fans are not the only ones guilty of vile and unnecessary chanting/singing
3. The English leagues have no desire to entertain us or Rankers due to our reputation for bigotry and hatred.
However I will concede the following..
1. I am LMFAO at the current situation mainly due to the bragging rights it endows.
2. I am aware that the vast majority of Celtic fans are either of Irish decent/Catholic/both and that I am by nature an oddball.
3. That Celtic Football club would be MORE welcome than the knuckledraggers in any revised EPL/EPL2.
