Any update on the Eboue work permit? From the noises the club are making, it's gone to appeal and they're completely confident it'll go through but what's the normal timescale for this? Another day or two?

Apparently it's finalised that's why eboue is travelling back to Russia to sort himself out before moving to Glasgow. Another day or two before the official signing.

This is only what I've heard tho so might be a bit of Chinese whispers going on!

BR is talking the boy up a fair bit, sounds like an exciting player.

Havn't really seen the boy much, but I wanted a ball winning CM, particularly for Europe where the turnover of possession is so important. Getting him in now, up and running will be ideal. The fact he can supposedly play a bit too is a bonus.

apparently he's signed now work permit went through

Just reading some comments from his agent there though. Whilst I fully accept the reality of it all, I'm not a fan of him saying that we're a stepping stone - before he's even kicked a ball! You just keep your head down Kouassi and remember you have to earn those moves by giving this team 100%.

Big wanyama said the same if a remember right Jim. It's the way they see it mate n it's probably how celtic put it to them, there should be someone from pr telling them how to word it tho cos it's not so endearing.

Would rather have an honest player than a badge kisser

11 Jan 2017 00:31:08
Of course we are a stepping stone for players if they want to make it to the top eboue like wanyama not only wants to play in the champions league but maybe have a chance of winning it some day I for one have no issue with that providing they earn their moves by being successful with the hoops first.

See he has aspirations to become better than Pogba. The last player I remember likening himself to a player of that caliber and talking about us as a stepping stone was Mo Bangura

I agree Digi, but it was his agent and not himself mind. I think that's what I didn't like.

Like I said I accept it's just the way it goes, but you might be right Steph, we might put it to young players like that. Almost a usp of our business model.

its an agents job to sell players, then sell them again, and again and again.

so we are miffed at an agent. doing his job? (ie prepping for is next next move! )

they are lowlifes and don't care about football - just the $$$ but we have to get real and just accept that its part of our beautiful game now

my point was digi that he hasn't even kicked a ball for us yet, you can expect that crap a season in but even before he's signed? that's just taking the piss.

i bet the players do but me personally I don't like this winter break, just as bad as the international break having proper Celtic withdrawals

Believable3 Unbelievable0

10 Jan 2017 10:26:57
Its nowhere near as bad as the international break. No Celtic games and having to watch Scotland is far worse than just having no Celtic games. So much so I start feeling empathy as I realise a bit what it must be like being a sevco supporter watching your team struggle against very average teams, and getting dominated by the good ones. ๐Ÿ˜†

Augustus gulpe: don't think you have thought it threw mate where is the 1 in front of the 9 . We would need to loose every game just to get 9870000 points lol

I wish Tommy Burns was here to see their demise having competed legitimately (with significant investment on the Celtic boards part) to stop them winning 9 in a row without knowing we were competing against a club guilty of financial doping by cheating barstewards. Tainted titles ๐Ÿ€

Need a diagram to outline the hilarity of this! JFP, Tommy literally fought the good fight and worked with what he had producing some lovely football. That mob deserve everything of the mire they are in, he'll mend them!

Was gutted when Burns got the sack. the football the 96/ 97 team played was just magical to watch. played them aff the park everytime. love watching old footage of games back then. anyone else think the 95-97 hoops strip is the best ever๐Ÿ‘

@jfp88 - was TB's reign ( 94 - 97 ) not before the EBT's ( 1998 onwards ) ? So he was actually let down by a lack of ambition / support from the Celtic board. So 9 in a row was legitimately won - hence the reason you are all desperate for 10 in a row.

Loved that season mate. It was ma first season ticket although a had been to loads of games before that, that season made me fall in love wae football, a already loved celtic but that was special. That was ma first taste of the free flowing attacking football that coined the phrase the celtic way. Being 35 up till then it had been heartbreak most of the time

Your right Uj it was before ebts started but yous craved the 9 also after we had done it years earlier. a bit like craving the big cup to match our achievements but methinks that ship has sailed although yous did win the Petrofac something we'll never win heyho onwards and upwards

Agree1 Disagree5

10 Jan 2017 10:28:13
@mallythetally - I think that ship has sailed for a lot more teams than just Rangers. Only 10 different winners in last 20 years.

UnionJack. I think its fair to say that Burns worked with the resources at his disposal and it wasn't a lack of ambition from the board or that the board let him down. the club just simply operated within its means. also I think its fair to say that there was a lot of dodgy dealings going on at Ibrox long before 98.
