Just watching MOTD and the debate about Lampard. "just give him the deal, it, s a no brainer". Lampard is, I think, 35, he wants a three year deal on £200k PER WEEK! that's around £30m for a 35 year old over his deal. It is a no brainer, no way. Another example of how money in that league has now reached unsustainable levels. Madness. But then again that asshole gets Linnaker gets £2m pa from us. . . . green jhedi

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Totally agree GJ, money in football nowadays repulses me. I LOVE Lionel Messi, but 600,000 Euro a week?? FFS! It's not even funny!

Lawwell: Gary Hooper's representatives to visit Celtic next week

09 February 2013 12:15 GMT

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has revealed representatives of Gary Hooper are set to visit the club next week with the English striker's contract on the agenda.

Hooper had been the subject of intense interest from English Premier League side Norwich City during the January transfer window with Celtic rejecting a number of bids for their star striker.

It had been thought contract talks between Hooper's representatives and the club had broken down, with the 25 year old's current deal set to expire next year, but Lawwell insists an agreement could still be reached.

Speaking to ESPN Lawell said: "The Champions League was vital (in keeping Hooper during the January transfer window).

"We received a number of offers for him and there was a bit of interest in Victor Wanyama too but this is a great opportunity for the club to reach the last eight of the Champions League.

"We felt we had a duty to the manager to keep these players.

"Gary's representatives are coming up next week to see what can be done.

"The reality is that if someone comes to Celtic and does as well as Gary has done they will be courted by English Premier League clubs. Unfortunately the rewards from there are such that it's difficult for any Scottish club to compete.

"But hopefully he will stay with us and extends his contract. The next couple of months will determine that. "

The balls firmly in Hoopers court now. Be in doubt if he does sign a new deal it will include a buy out clause. The amount dictated by the players agent with a cut of said amount lining the players pockets!

Cancelled my subscription today, would have done so sooner but a few UFC bouts have been on recently I didn't want to miss & todays game main reason I have kept subscribing. Sick of cart horse rotten x players who had no skill technique or enterprise on a footbal pitch co commentating on our game when the only contribution they ever made was kicking better players in to touch. Pity I can't cancel the bbc, step forward Craig paterson you hacking bas*ard! Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a gig at tv Scotland if you didn't play for the deady bears or the soon to be flats flats glorious flats? AbS

I'm on the same boat. At CP a couple of weeks ago & the guy who sits next to e said he cancelled his too worked out 5 rangers games to celtics 1 and if I remember the last celtic away game on espn was Aberdeen a few month back?

Also tonight (starting to follow German football now) thinking yas bayern vs schalke 5. 30. . naw not on the cards UFC is the only reason I still have it but might try else where waste of £7 pm!

Lenny {Ed007's Note - Try this Lenny. It is a cut and paste from my notes but still works as far as I am aware:

1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

Agree2 Disagree0

It works. It's how I watch at work.

Done ed thanks for that 2 things: can you get German football on it? Also since your more clued up on tech that me, I'm using the ipad nowadays rather than laptops do I still need anti virus stuff?

Not going to spam up our page but do have a few questions about iPads if anyone knows?

Lenny {Ed001's Note - it depends what you do as to whether you need anti virus programs. Most of them are useless and do nothing other than slow down your comp.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed / Lenny, I followed the instructions about 6 months ago - I have Chrome and norton on my laptop.
Ended up with a trojan that took over both my browsers. They LOOK normal but they are not Chrome or Internet explorer and a F*&£ing nightmare to get rid - make sure you READ CAREFULLY any dialogue boxes that need ticked to continue and accept - that's how the virus got in. I accepted it D'oh! (never bothered trying again). kbt1978

Many of us have the SPL regulations book.
You don't need a High Court Law Lord to read it to understand that wrongful registration of players took place and that the mandatory punishment for that is an award of a 3-0 win to the opposing team on every occasion an illegal player played.
Lance Armstrong cheated over many many years, I'm sure the cycling authorities would have nipped it in the bud in the first year if they knew what he was up to. Same with Rangers.
Rangers deliberately and furtively hid EBTs from SPL registrations. They didn't even say, hey we're also doing this, do we need to declare it or not?

Believable10 Unbelievable0

The most damning thing about it all is one Campbell Ogilvie. Rangers secretary and SFA employee. I don't even understand why there is a need for a hearing, all of which makes me very suspicious. They lost 30% of the EBT cases, avoiding tax payments, so it would be highly unlikely they would lodge paperwork implicating themselves with the SFA. The delay can only be caused by actually getting the final count of cases, or a massive cover up. . . green jhedi

Please settle an arguement - was there temproary seating placed in the jungle before it was eventually demolished {Ed007's Note - They weren't temporary seats but seats were fitted for season 93/94 (??). During the redevelopment of the stadium the seats that were in the Jungle were moved into the Main (South) Stand to replace the old orange seats that were in place there.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks for the reply Ed007, I seem to think the first game we played with these seats in the jungle was against Hibs - would you have any way of confirming this or not? thanks for your consideration in this matter {Ed007's Note - We began the 93/94 season with a 2-2 draw at Fir Park and that was followed by a 1-1 draw with Hibs at CP, you're spot on.}

ED007 wee Pat and I are off on a business venture to Dubai and Australia.
Our plans are to meet as many gullible, er open minded ex bears to relieve them of their cash.
Our first business plan is to open a Possilpark Academy in Dubai, fees for ex bears are £5k per term. Wee Pat will head the English department, with myself in charge of fundraising.
We are then planning to open a Media Centre in Australia called the Hawthorne Media Resources Centre (HMRC) where Pat and I will host our own Radio shows. We plan to raise £200 million (well if chuckie can raise £100m our ideas and stories are better)
We hope to entice many institutional investors with the knowledge our Pat has gained from visiting many institutions in Scotland (Bar L, Peterhead, Shotts and Saughton to name just a few)
Meanwhile, back home our business colleagues have attempted to usurp dastardly Green by offering Juventus the "world renowned" facilities at St Rochs
If successful, Timalloy and Wee Pat fae posso, will be synonamous with bringing business acumen to ex bears around the world, for a hefty profit naturally.
We are no "fly by night company" (we travelled during the daytime) and like chuckles "our word is our bond (oops sorry 007)
Pat is happy to give everyone a verbal guarantee (as we are 100% confident no body will understand it) The Timalloy/Wee Pat fae posso Enterprises Inc.
PS No ex bears were harmed during this commercial, only laughed at and relieved of their savings (thanks for the idea chico )

Can't remember the numbers but it's something like 27 cups, 53 league titles etc. etc.
Anyway, my point is. . surely it should read. .

Psychiatric help is needed over there. Blame the SFA though, why won't they just come out and say if they are classed as the same club? Spineless, lacking in leadership and direction no wonder people are fed up with them. . . green jhedi

Agree7 Disagree0

Are you sure it said " won " because I quite clearly remember green admitting he bought them?

Agree4 Disagree0

Rangers are not the same football club as historic rangers FC. There's about forty legal, regulatory and cultural reasons why.
Charles Green did not buy Craig Whytes football club. Green started a new football club.

@2; Great point. Green bought them, so obviously they can't be the current team on the parks property. You only buy things that are not yours!. . . green jhedi

This 'demise' of Scottish football and anything to do with it lies firmly at the door of one club and one club only - Rangers Football Club!

I'm sick of it, I really am with them playing the victim and not one shred of humility.

Why do they boycott clubs just because a NewCo was not voted directly into the top tier of Scottish Football? Why should it have been. Oops that's right because they have a relatively big support.

This big support means you can financially mismanage your club for years to the point of allegations of cheating but its okay when you finally become insolvent, just pay no-one, liquidate the 'holding company' and start again debt free in the top tier. Why oh why has no other club thought of this?

Rangers Football Club = Genius, i'm in absolute awe of this masterplan. They are indeed The People, head and shoulders above any other mere mortals!

EPL take note for when/if it all goes pear shaped! Why Barcelona don't do this masterplan with their debt I do not know, must be absolute eejits running it ~ Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree1

@ Mrs E; Humility from within Piebrox? I honestly think they have got worse in recent weeks. Jabbas inane rambling proves to every one just what the feeling is in there. On the liquidation and buying history nonsense you are on the money. You would think that if the SFA don't impose maximum punishments then they will have to step in. Even before the Nimmo Smith verdict the SFA must issue a statement to clarify the situation. Have this club, who had to START AGAIN in the third division, who had to enter the Scottish Cup in the earliest round and who still have outstanding football debt the right to claim x amount of league titles etc? Common sense would say they have won nothing. . . green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree0

Rangers throughout the whole lifetime of the SPL cheated it and ruined it. That's why the SPL is being renamed restructured rebranded, because Rangers corrupted it and covered it in their Ibrox sewage.

The newest team in Scotland is using us basically to advertise the clubs name. Which is funny, when people here the word "Ranger's" (Commentators or pundits won't call them The Rangers or Sevco 5088 because they don't want to lose viewers) They think of a team that can't beat the team bottom of division 3. Charles Green is a pathetic wee man, with the move he made it shows that the Zombies will always be in the shadow of Celtic. The Zombies need to wake up and smell the Coffee because he's completely Embarrassed them again. Which is f**king brilliant. Nothing better than a group of beeling zombies sitting in the pub. Fifebhoy1888

Believable9 Unbelievable1

The zombie club Sevco5088, founded 2012, are desperately trying to ride along on the coat tails of the Scottish Champions, the mightier than mighty Celtic Football Club.

Celtic ultimately won all battles with historical Rangers as they died as a club in 2012. There no longer is an old firm. Rangers are not old.

Charles Green is pleased to confirm that Juventus have begged him to allow them to train at Murray Park. They have also requested that Ally McCoist and his coaching staff run the training sessions in conjunction with the full Rangers squad. Pirlo has been quoted as saying "I am very excited and honoured to have the chance to meet and train with one of my boyhood heros Ian Black, our entire strikeforce are licking their lips at the mouthwatering thought of pitting their wits against the likes of Cribari". Juve coach Antonio Conte already has one eye on the latter stages of the Champions League and the possibility of a Barcelona clash, "We need to come up with a strategy to counteract Barca's 'Ticka-Tacka' style and will consult with Ally over the deployment of his famous 'Humpa-Balla-Upa-Parka' tactics".

It is important to uphold a friendly and cordial spirit between opposing teams in the CL. Thousands of travelling fans are hosted by the home team and their fans. It is important that the visiting team is hosted by the home team not some other third party across the city.
Charles Green has cut across these important elements of CL football with his appallingly rude manners. I trust Juve will kindly decline to uphold the spirit and ethos of the game.
